不知道大家有没有关注过巴林这个国家的金属场景，在网站上查询关于巴林国家的乐队也只有区区的21支乐队而已，我也只是听过Necrosin和Lunacyst这两支来自巴林的乐队，那么今天就来采访一支来自巴林的Death Metal乐队Zvindiyar，这支乐队由Mohammed AlMeshkhas一个人在2024年组建，是一支非常年轻的乐队，Mohammed AlMeshkhas还参与组建了巴林的另外一支Progressive Death Metal风格的乐队Ryth并且还参与了来自沙特阿拉伯的Brutal Death Metal乐队Sijjeel，Zvindiyar乐队在组建两年之后才发布了作品，在EP专辑发行之前乐队发行了两首单曲，这两首单曲受到了Progressive风格的影响很深，复杂的编曲，快速，连续的Riff，可以看出来Mohammed AlMeshkhas对于Zvindiyar的作品非常用心，这张EP专辑“Six Rites”作品的氛围非常宏伟，Mohammed AlMeshkhas也是包揽了乐队的所有创作和制作，前不久乐队发行了第一张EP专辑“Six Rites”在新作品发行之际杂志与乐队的创始人Mohammed AlMeshkhas取得联系进行了一次专访！

I don’t know if any of you have paid attention to the metal scene in Bahrain. A quick search online reveals that there are only a mere 21 bands from the country, and I’ve only ever heard of two Bahraini bands: Necrosin and Lunacyst. So today, I’m interviewing Zvindiyar, a death metal band from Bahrain. Formed in 2024 by Mohammed AlMeshkhas as a one-man project, this is a very young band. Mohammed AlMeshkhas also helped form Ryth, another Bahraini band playing progressive death metal, and has been involved with Sijjeel, a brutal death metal band from Saudi Arabia. Zvindiyar didn’t release any material until two years after forming. Prior to the EP’s release, the band put out two singles, both of which were heavily influenced by progressive styles—featuring complex arrangements, fast-paced, relentless riffs—demonstrating that Mohammed AlMeshkhas has poured his heart into Zvindiyar’s work. The atmosphere of this EP, “Six Rites,” is truly grand. Mohammed AlMeshkhas handled all composition and production for the band. Not long ago, the band released their debut EP, “Six Rites.” To mark the release of this new work, the magazine reached out to the band’s founder, Mohammed AlMeshkhas, for an exclusive interview!

Hello Mohammed, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let me say hello to all Chinese fans. When was Zvindiyar band founded? How did you form this band? What does the name Zvindiyar mean?

M: 大家好，感谢你们的邀请。能登上中国杂志的版面，我们深感荣幸并向所有读者致以问候。ZVINDIYAR成立于2024年的巴林。这个项目是在我们多年从事创作、演出并活跃于当地金属乐圈之后才最终成型的。我们的目标是打造一个在声音、概念和身份认同上都更加专注的作品。ZVINDIYAR是一个广为人知的波斯名字，对我个人而言也颇具特殊意义。正因如此，我觉得这个名字非常适合这个项目。

Hello, and thank you for having us. It is an honor to be featured in a Chinese magazine, and we send our greetings to everyone reading. ZVINDIYAR was founded in 2024 in Bahrain. The project came together after years of writing, performing, and being involved in the local metal scene. The aim was to create something more focused in sound, concept, and identity. ZVINDIYAR is a known Persian name, and it also has a personal connection to me. That made it feel like the right name for the project.

V: 你是乐队唯一的成员，所以在创作歌曲时，你可以完全按照自己的想法来。能介绍一下你的创作过程吗？

You are the only member of the band, so when creating songs, you can completely follow your own ideas. Can you introduce your creative process?

M: 需要说明的是，ZVINDIYAR并非个人乐队。我负责主导整体概念、作曲、主唱、贝斯、作词以及整体方向，但这个项目同时也包含其他音乐人。歌曲通常源于一个鲜明的创意——可能是某个乐句、节奏、氛围，或是歌词中的意象。在此基础上，所有元素都会围绕这首曲目的整体氛围展开。我希望音乐、歌词和视觉呈现能够相互呼应，而非各自为政。对于"Six Rites"而言，每首歌曲都被视为一个大型作品集的一部分，而非仅仅是独立的单曲。

Just to clarify, ZVINDIYAR is not a solo band. I lead the concept, composing, vocals, bass, lyrics, and overall direction, but the project includes other musicians as well. The songs usually start from one strong idea - a riff, rhythm, atmosphere, or lyrical image. From there, everything is shaped around the feeling of the track. I like the music, lyrics, and visuals to feel connected, not separate. For *Six Rites*, every song was treated as part of one larger release rather than just individual tracks.

V: 你的作品录音效果非常出色。这张专辑是在哪家录音室录制的？是由哪位制作人操刀制作的？你即将发行的EP专辑的录制工作进展顺利吗？

Your works have excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record your album in? Which producer made the album for you? Are the recording process of your upcoming EP album going smoothly?

M: 谢谢。专辑"Six Rites"由Hani Taqi在巴林的Studio 77录制完成。混音和母带处理由Ronnie Björnström在Björnström Sound工作室完成。整个过程耗时较长，但进展顺利。我们希望这张专辑既能呈现出厚重而充满攻击性的音色，又能保留空间感、氛围感和清晰度。

Thank you. *Six Rites* was recorded in Bahrain by Hani Taqi at Studio 77. The mixing and mastering were done by Ronnie Björnström at Björnström Sound. The process took time, but it went well. We wanted the release to sound heavy and aggressive, while still keeping space, atmosphere, and clarity.

V: 阿拉伯与波斯神话是你的音乐主题。你为何选择这个音乐主题？你想通过这个音乐主题表达什么？你还创作了歌词部分。这些歌词的灵感来源于什么？

Arabic&Persian mythology is your music theme. Why did you choose this music theme? What do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. What inspired these lyrics?

M: 波斯和阿拉伯神话是ZVINDIYAR身份认同的一部分。它们源自一个在文化上与我们更为接近的世界，但我并非单纯从历史角度来运用它们。我借助神话人物和符号来探讨转变、崩塌、怀疑、重生以及未知。歌词的灵感源自神话、个人挣扎以及视觉意象。

Persian and Arabic mythology are part of the identity of ZVINDIYAR. They come from a world closer to us culturally, but I don’t use them in a simple historical way. I use mythological figures and symbols to speak about transformation, collapse, doubt, rebirth, and the unknown. The lyrics are inspired by mythology, personal struggle, and visual imagery.

V: 你们乐队的标志设计非常漂亮。是谁为你们设计的这个标志？你们的专辑封面设计非常独特。是谁为你们设计的这些封面？它们代表什么含义？

Your band's logo design is very beautiful. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork is designed very uniquely. Who designed these artworks for you? What does it mean?

M: ZVINDIYAR 的视觉风格主要由我们构思设计。其标志的设计理念围绕着“古老、锐利且极具辨识度”这几个核心要素展开。专辑及单曲封面由Ani Artworks根据ZVINDIYAR提供的概念和指导创作完成。每幅作品都与对应曲目的氛围紧密相连。这些作品更具象征意义而非直白呈现，为听众打开了一扇通往"Six Rites"世界的门户。

The visual direction of ZVINDIYAR was heavily conceptualized by us. The logo was built around the idea of something ancient, sharp, and recognizable. The album and track artworks were created by Ani Artworks, based on concepts and direction from ZVINDIYAR. Each artwork connects to the atmosphere of its track. They are symbolic rather than literal, giving the listener a doorway into the world of *Six Rites*.

V: 你目前的专辑是你自己发布的数字版本。你有没有考虑过发行实体版专辑？目前有没有联系过任何制造商进行合作洽谈？

Your current album is a digital version released by yourself. Have you considered releasing a physical version of the album? Have you currently been in contact with any manufacturers for cooperation talks?

M: 目前，"Six Rites"计划作为一张独立数字专辑首发。实体版本暂非重点。目前市场需求仍有限，我们更希望将预算投入到录制新作品和进一步发展这个项目上。就目前而言，推出周边商品比压制CD或黑胶唱片更为合理。

At the moment, *Six Rites* is planned as an independent digital debut release. A physical version is not the focus right now. Demand is still limited, and we would rather put the budget into recording new material and building the project further. For now, merch makes more sense than pressing CDs or vinyl.

V: 首先，恭喜你今年发布了新作品。你的作品融合了前卫与传统元素，大量运用前卫元素来充实你的Riff。这使得你的编曲更加复杂精妙，也让作品充满神秘感。你的演唱深沉有力，作品在各个方面都完成得非常出色。你对自己这件作品有什么看法？

First of all, congratulations on releasing a new work this year. Your work is full of avant-garde and traditional elements, using a lot of avant-garde elements to fill your Riff. This makes your arrangement more complex and advanced, and also makes your work full of mystery. Your singing is deep and powerful, and your work is well done in various aspects. What is your opinion on your own work?

M: 谢谢，我非常感激。在创作ZVINDIYAR时，我希望音乐能给人一种沉重而直击心灵的感觉，但又不失层次感。吉他段落和人声固然重要，但围绕在其中的氛围同样至关重要。"Six Rites"是ZVINDIYAR风格的首次完整呈现：融合了氛围感、神话元素以及强烈身份认同感的极端金属。

Thank you, I appreciate that. With ZVINDIYAR, I wanted the music to feel heavy and direct, but not flat. The riffs and vocals are important, but the atmosphere around them matters just as much. *Six Rites* is the first full statement of what ZVINDIYAR is: extreme metal with atmosphere, mythology, and a strong sense of identity.

V: 巴林当地的乐队并不多，我在你们国家只关注过两支乐队，分别是Necrosin和Lunacest。我想通过你了解一下巴林的金属音乐氛围。你能介绍一下你们国家的金属音乐氛围吗？比如有没有音乐节之类的活动？有没有什么乐队可以推荐给大家？

There are not many bands in Bahrain, and I have only followed two bands in your country, Necrosin and Lunacest. I would like to learn about the metal atmosphere in Bahrain through you. Can you introduce the metal atmosphere in your country? For example, a music festival? Do you have any bands that you can recommend to everyone?

M: 巴林的金属圈规模虽小，但关系紧密。与那些更大的国家相比，我们活跃的乐队和演出场地并不多，但参与其中的人都非常投入。"MetalFest Bahrain"是当地金属圈的主要活动之一。它为巴林金属乐提供了重要的展示平台。说到活跃的乐队，我会提到HELLIONIGHT和NECROSIN。Lunacyst在历史上也是一个重要的名字。Lunacyst的吉他手和鼓手现在是ZVINDIYAR的成员，而ZVINDIYAR的成员也源自早期的巴林乐队，如Mushroom Massacre和Ryth。

The metal scene in Bahrain is small, but close. We do not have many active bands or venues compared to bigger countries, but the people involved are very committed. MetalFest Bahrain is one of the main names connected to the local metal scene. It has been important for giving Bahraini metal a platform. For active bands, I would mention HELLIONIGHT and NECROSIN. Lunacyst is also an important name historically. The guitarist and drummer from Lunacyst are now part of ZVINDIYAR, and members of ZVINDIYAR also have roots in earlier Bahraini bands such as Mushroom Massacre and Ryth.

V: Zvindiyar是一支非常年轻的乐队，我将一直关注并支持你们。我也希望通过这次采访，能有更多中国乐迷关注并支持你们的乐队。采访即将结束，最后你们想对中国的乐迷和朋友们说些什么吗？

Zvindiyar is a very young band, and I will always pay attention to and support you. I also hope that through this interview, more Chinese fans will pay attention to and support your band. The interview is coming to an end. Do you have anything you want to say to Chinese fans and friends at the end?
