今天采访到的是来自芬兰的一支非常年轻的乐队Ashes In The Fall，组建于2019年的Ashes In The Fall由鼓手Touko和他的朋友组建，但是由于阵容的稳定直到2023年乐队才发布了第一首单曲“Into Madness”，虽然乐队成员都非常年轻，但是他们的创作非常成熟，这首单曲发行之后迅速成为了芬兰一支非常受欢迎的乐队，2025年乐队的第二首单曲“Dusk of Mankind”发布，在保持着上一张专辑的创作经验之后，这首新的单曲更加的成熟，大气，这首单曲发行之后乐队也被芬兰的著名厂牌Inverse Records签约并且今年发行了最新的EP专辑“Where Serenity Prevails”，在新专辑发行之际杂志通过Inverse Records厂牌与乐队取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview was with a very young band from Finland, Ashes In The Fall. Ashes In The Fall was formed in 2019 by drummer Touko and his friends. However, due to the stable lineup, the band did not release their first single "Into Madness" until 2023. Although the members of the band are very young, their creativity is very mature. After the release of this single, it quickly became a very popular band in Finland. In 2025, the band's second single "Dusk of Mankind" was released. While maintaining the creative experience of their previous album, this new single became more mature and atmospheric. After the release of this single, the band was also recognized by famous Finnish labels. Signed with Inverse Records and released their latest EP album "Where Serenity Prevails" this year, On the occasion of the release of the new album, the magazine contacted the band through Inverse Records for an exclusive interview!

Hello brother, it's nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has accepted an interview from a Chinese magazine. First of all, let's say hello to all Chinese fans and friends. Ashes In The Fall band was founded in 2019 and is a very young band. How did you first form this band?

A: 非常感谢。乐队是由我们的鼓手Touko和他的朋友在13岁时组建的。多年来我们经历了多次阵容变化，但现在阵容似乎终于稳定下来了。

Thank you! The band was formed by our drummer Touko and his friend when they were 13 years old. Throughout the years we have experienced numerous line-up changes, but it seems that the line-up is now finally stabilizing.

V: 你们是一群非常年轻的音乐家，你们很有活力，你们的编曲也很出色。你是如何创作歌曲的？你能介绍一下你的创作过程吗？

You are a group of very young musicians, you are very energetic, and your arrangement is also excellent. How do you create songs? Can you introduce your creative process?

A: 通常乐队成员会拿出即兴重复段或完整的演示。然后在某个时候，我们开始共同研究这个想法并将其变成一首完成的歌曲。歌词也是以类似的方式写成的。

Usually a band member comes up with a riff or a complete demo. Then at some point we start to work on the idea together and turn it into a finished song. The lyrics are written in a similar manner.

Your recording effect is excellent. Which studio did you record your album in? Which producer made the album for you? Is the recording process of the new album going smoothly?

A: 我们在排练室自己录制并制作了这张EP。我们目前正在为未来的专辑做准备，因此可能在一段时间内不会发布任何新材料。

We recorded and produced the EP by ourselves in our rehearsal room. We are currently in the writing process for our future album, and therefore might not release any new material for some time.

What is the theme of your music? Why did you choose this music theme? What do you want to express through this music theme? Do you have any lyrics? Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

A: “Where Serenity Prevails”是关于人与自然之间的关系以及两者之间的脱节将如何导致人类的毁灭。我们一起写了歌词，它们深受吉卜力工作室电影的启发。

Where Serenity Prevails is about the relationship between mankind and nature and how the disconnect between the two will cause the destruction of mankind. We wrote the lyrics together, and they were heavily inspired by Studio Ghibli films.

V: 你的Logo设计非常独特，简单但透露出复杂性。谁为你设计了这个Logo？你的专辑封面设计也很独特。谁为你设计了这件艺术品？这件艺术品有什么意义吗？

Your logo design is very distinctive, simple yet revealing complexity. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork design is also very unique. Who designed this artwork for you? Does this artwork have any meaning?

A: 我们的一个朋友设计了这个Logo，另一个朋友为EP创作了艺术品。这件艺术品大致基于歌词，在捕捉音乐情绪方面做得很好。

A friend of ours designed the logo and another friend created the artwork for the EP. The artwork is loosely based on the lyrics and it does a great job at capturing the mood of the music.

V: 你的乐队成立于2019年，但你直到2023年才发布他们的作品。是什么让你长时间选择发行一张专辑？

Your band was formed in 2019, but you only released their works in 2023. What caused you to choose to release an album for a long time?

A: 我们作为音乐家或词曲作者还不够熟练，无法发布音乐。

We were simply not skilled enough as musicians or songwriters to release music yet.

V: 你的乐队与Inverse Records合作发行了他们的最新单曲，这在你的国家是一个出色的唱片公司。你是如何与该品牌建立合作关系的？你对这个厂牌的工作满意吗？

Your band has collaborated with Inverse Records to release their latest single, which is an outstanding label in your country. How did you establish contact with this label for cooperation? Are you satisfied with the job at this brand?

A: 我们联系了许多不同的唱片公司并决定与Inverse Records达成和解。与芬兰品牌签约似乎是个好主意，他们为我们提供了非常优惠的价格。我们对Inverse非常满意，因为他们在全球范围内推广了我们并引起了我们的关注。

We contacted many different labels and decided to settle with Inverse Records. It seemed like a good idea to sign with a Finnish label, and they offered us a very good deal. We are very satisfied with Inverse since they have promoted us globally and gotten us attention.

First of all, congratulations to your band for just releasing their latest EP album "Where Serenity Prevails" this year. The slow and heavy rhythm, muddy Riff, gives people a feeling of frustration and pessimism. Your speed always maintains a slow feeling, which is very different from many bands nowadays. The singer's deep voice left a deep impression on me. What do you think of your own works?

A: 非常感谢。考虑到我们的低预算，我们对我们的工作感到非常自豪。在我们看来，我们在制作一些真正有趣的歌曲方面做得很好，这些歌曲既黑暗又美丽。

Thank you! We are extremely proud of our work considering our low budget. In our opinion we have done a great job at crafting some genuinely interesting songs that are simultaneously dark and beautiful.

V: 你的乐队以前参加过任何音乐节吗？哪些音乐节给你留下了深刻的印象？你能介绍一下当时的现场气氛吗？2025年你打算参加哪些音乐节？

Has your band participated in any music festivals before? Which music festivals left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the live atmosphere at that time? Which music festivals are you planning to participate in in in 2025?

A: 我们还没有在任何节日演出，但我们已经进行了一些独立演出。在我们所有的节目中，第一轮Emergenza乐队演出可能是我们迄今为止最好的。这是我们第一次深深地沉浸在歌曲的气氛中。观众似乎很开心，我们获得了第二多的选票。今年夏天我们将在芬兰最大的金属节Tuska上表演。

We haven’t played at any festivals yet, but we’ve played some stand-alone gigs. Out of all our shows the first round of the Emergenza band competition has probably been our best so far. It was the first time we sunk deep into the mood of the songs. The audience seemed entertained and we got second most votes. In the summer we’re going to perform at Tuska, the biggest metal festival in Finland.

V: 除了在2025年发行新专辑，你还有什么新的工作要进行吗？你能和大家分享一些信息吗？

What other work do you need to do besides releasing new albums in 2025? Can you share some information with everyone?

A: 我们目前正在创作歌曲、制作商品、预订节目和推广自己。

We are currently in the process of writing songs, making merch, booking shows and promoting ourselves.

Ashes in the Fall is a very young band, but you are indeed a very promising band. I will continue to support and follow your band. I also hope to attract more Chinese fans to follow and support your band through this interview. Do you have anything to say to your Chinese fans in the end?

A: 非常感谢你的支持和这次采访！现在我们仍然是一个相对较小的乐队，但希望有一天我们能在中国演出。

Thank you very much for your support and this interview! Right now we’re still a relatively small band but hopefully we’ll be able to play shows in China some day.
