巴西作为一个Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore/Goregrind风格非常重要的国家之一，在这个国家诞生了众多影响世界的乐队，比如GORE，Expurgo，Lymphatic Phlegm，Flesh Grinder，Neuro-Visceral Exhumation，C.V.I等等众多乐队，那么今天就在一次介绍一支来自巴西Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore/Goregrind风格当中非常重要的乐队Vômito，组建于1993年的Vômito乐队可以说是巴西当中非常有资历的老牌乐队了，1994年发行的Demo开始就深受巴西歌迷的关注，虽然早期的作品录制的比较粗糙，但是很明显体现出他们对于Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore/Goregrind这种风格的理解，也很好的创作出巴西这种独特的风格，他们的作品当中无论从艺术品，歌词，创作风格方面来说都可以感受到深受Carcass乐队的影响，再发行了一些作品之后乐队2000年宣布解散，在解散之后2001年发行了一张EP专辑“Gore Mutilation”，这张专辑也是乐队影响力最大的一张作品，推荐给喜欢Exhumed和Carcass乐队的歌迷朋友们，2020年乐队发行了一张“Demo Series Vol. 01”的合辑作品同时也宣布复出，虽然重组之后乐队并没有发行太多的作品，只有区区的六张作品，但是每一张专辑都让Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore/Goregrind歌迷感到兴奋，虽然Vômito乐队在中国的影响力远远不足我之前提到的那些巴西乐队，但是作为巴西Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore/Goregrind风格发展历史当中Vômito乐队永远是不能被遗忘的一支乐队，前不久杂志有幸与Vômito的创始人歌手Léo Manhães以及全体成员取得联系进行了一次专访，也让更多的中国歌迷感受，了解一下这支巴西历史上最重要的乐队Vômito！

Brazil, as one of the countries with a very important Brutal Death Metal/Greencore/Greengrind style, has given birth to numerous bands that have influenced the world, such as GORE，Expurgo，Lymphatic Phlegm，Flesh Grinder，Neuro-Visceral Exhumation，C.V.I Waiting for many bands, today we will introduce Vômito, a very important band in the Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore/Gringrin style from Brazil. The Vômito band, formed in 1993, can be said to be a very experienced veteran band in Brazil. The demo released in 1994 has been highly regarded by Brazilian fans. Although their early works were recorded crudely, it clearly reflects their understanding of the Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore/Gringrin style and their ability to create this unique Brazilian style. Their works can be felt to be deeply influenced by the Carcass band in terms of art, lyrics, and creative style. After releasing some works, the band announced their dissolution in 2000 and released an EP album called "Gore Mutilation" in 2001, This album is also the most influential work of the band, recommended to fans who like Exhumed and Carcass. In 2020, the band released a compilation work called "Demo Series Vol.01" and also announced their comeback. Although the band did not release many works after the reorganization, only a few six works, each album excited Brutal Death Metal/Greencore/Greencore fans. Although Vômito influence in China is far less than the Brazilian bands I mentioned before, as a member of the Brutal Death Metal/Greencore/Greencore style development history in Brazil, Vômito will never be forgotten. The band recently had the privilege of collaborating with Vômito founder singer Léo Manhães es And all members were contacted for an exclusive interview, allowing more Chinese fans to experience and learn about the most important band in Brazilian history Vômito!

Hey! Please briefly introduce your band. Many Chinese fans have liked you for years, but there is very little information about you in the Chinese-speaking world.

L: 大家好，首先感谢火山杂志给我们这次采访的机会，我们向中国所有极端音乐的崇拜者致敬。Vômito是20世纪90年代初在巴西最南端南里奥格兰德州内陆的一个小镇上出现的一支乐队，当我们组建乐队时，我们的目的是演奏与当时影响我们的乐队一样激进和极端的音乐，那是Grind Core的早期，我们是口渴的年轻人和当代场景的爱好者，我们首先录制了一些Demo Tapes并做了一些演示。

Hello, we start by thanking Volcano Magazine for giving us the opportunity for this interview, and we salute all the admirers of extreme music in China. Vômito is a band that emerged in the early 1990s in a small town in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, in the extreme south of Brazil, when we put together the band we had the intention of playing music as aggressive and extreme as the bands that influenced us at the time, it was the early years of Grind Core, we were thirsty young people and enthusiasts of the contemporary scene, We started by recording some demo tapes and making some presentations.

V: Vômito成立于1993年，至今已经经历了数十年的时间跨度。你们如何看待这个项目在你们人生中的意义？

Vômito was formed in 1993 and has spanned several decades. How do you view the meaning of this band in your lives?

L: 当我成立乐队时，我还是一个16岁的青少年，对激进而晦涩的地下乐队着迷，有许多乌托邦式的想法和理想化，通过乐队，我能够在巴西和国外建立许多友谊，陪伴我一生，我还可以获得很多信息，如哲学、意识形态和不同的世界观，对人类状况的反思，人际关系、环境问题、政治，这使我成为一个人。今天，50岁的我仍然在与乐队一起演奏、与人接触中找到了很多乐趣和满足感，这是由于我在所做的事情中感受到的巨大爱，呕吐是我生命中交织在一起的一部分。

When I founded the band I was a 16-year-old teenager fascinated by aggressive and obscure Underground bands, with many utopian ideas and idealizations, through the band I was able to build many friendships in Brazil and abroad that accompany me throughout life and I also had access to a lot of information such as philosophy, ideologies and diverse worldviews, reflections on the human condition, interpersonal relationships, environmental issues, politics and this forged me as a human being. And today at 50 years old I still find a lot of pleasure and satisfaction in playing with the band, getting in touch with people and this is due to the great love I feel in what I do, Vomiting is part of my life intertwining throughout my journey.

V: 你们的音乐风格是Brutal Death Metal和Grindcore，你们更偏向哪一边？如何在这两种风格之间找到平衡？

Your style is Brutal Death Metal and Grindcore. Which side do you lean toward more, and how do you balance the two?

L: 这两种流派对我们的音乐有着直接的影响，这是两种风格的融合，Grind Core存在于歌曲的攻击性、节奏速度和一些基础中，继承了HC/Crust，一些更简单、更原始的东西演奏得更快、更直接，在一些基础、歌词主题中，尤其是在充满扭曲和重量的乐器的均衡和音色中，带有强烈的Death Metal影响。

These two genres are direct influences in our music, which is a fusion of the two styles, Grind Core is present in the aggressiveness, speed in the beats and also in some bases of the songs, with inheritance from HC/Crust, something simpler and more raw played faster and more directly, carries strong doses of Death Metal influence noticeable in some bases, themes of our lyrics and especially in the equalizations and timbres of the instrumental loaded with distortions and weight.

V: 你们通常是怎么写歌的？灵感来源于哪里？

How do you usually write your songs? Where do your inspirations come from?

L: 受Crust/Grind/Death/Gore极端乐队的影响，我们的歌词受到了Trash Gore电影以及与法医学、疾病、医疗程序、残酷事故、残害、肢解和一般病理学相关的主题的启发。

Influenced by extreme bands of Crust/Grind/Death/Gore and for the lyrics we were inspired by Trash Gore movies as well as themes related to forensic medicine, diseases, medical procedures, brutal accidents, mutilations, dismemberments and pathologies in general.

R: 创作过程非常自由，每个人都带来自己的想法，并帮助构建它们，直到达到戈尔世界的经典结果，侵略性、腐朽性和怪诞性。我的灵感来自死亡金属乐队。在材料艺术的阐述中，它混合了恐怖电影、关于连环杀手的纪录片和一点金属疾病本身

The creation process is very free with each one bringing their ideas and helping to structure them until reaching that classic result of the Gore world, aggressive, rotten and grotesque. The inspiration on my part comes a lot from Death Metal bands. And in the elaboration of the arts for the materials it is a mix of horror movies, documentaries about serial killers and a little bit of metal disease itself kkkk

E: 我创作的灵感来自于Vômito的老作品，试图遵循同样的创作路线。

My inspiration to compose comes from the old works of Vômito, trying to follow the same line of composition.

D: 一般来说，我们通常在家作曲，直到最后一个过程，然后在排练中提交给其他人批准。这些影响来自Grind、Gore、Death Metal等老派乐队。

In general, we usually compose at home until its final process and then present it in rehearsal for approval by the others. The influences come from Old School bands of the genre Grind, Gore, Death Metal.

V: 你们私下听哪些音乐风格？有哪些乐队对你们影响比较大？ 

What kind of music do you listen to in your daily lives? Which bands have influenced you the most?

L: 乐队中的每个人都有自己的影响，从HC/Crust乐队到Death Metal，主要是通过我们风格的Splatter Gore乐队。一开始我们的声音受到了旧Carcass, Repulsion, Autopsy, Regurgitate, Haemorrhage, Dead Infection, Xysma, Exulceration, Last Days of Humanity, General Surgery等乐队的影响，在巴西，对我们影响很大的乐队有Rotting Flesh, Sarcastic, Gore, The Endoparasites, Necrotério, Flesh Grinder, Lymphatic Phlegm，我可以提到很多其他乐队。我一直在听Extreme Noise Terror, Insect Warfare, Expurgo, Rot, Harmony Fault, Maggut, General Surgery, Ossuary, Traqueomalácia。

Everyone in the band has our own influences, which range from HC/Crust bands to Death Metal passing mainly through bands of our style Splatter Gore in the beginning our sound was influenced by bands like the old Carcass, Repulsion, Autopsy, Regurgitate, Haemorrhage, Dead Infection, Xysma, Exulceration, Last Days of Humanity, General Surgery, among many others, here in Brazil the ones that influenced us a lot were Rotting Flesh, Sarcastic, Gore, The Endoparasites, Necrotério, Flesh Grinder, Lymphatic Phlegm, I could mention many others. I've been listening to Extreme Noise Terror, Insect Warfare, Expurgo, Rot, Harmony Fault, Maggut, General Surgery, Ossuary, Traqueomalácia.

R: 在日常生活中，我通常会听Cannibal Corpse, Sex Feet Under, Deicide等经典的Death Metal，但我也会听任何正在播放的音乐。我通常也会收听收音机，随机播放歌曲kkk

During the day to day I usually listen to a good old Death Metal like Cannibal Corpse, Sex Feet Under, Deicide, but I also usually listen to whatever is playing. I also usually tune in to the radio to listen to random songs kkk

V: 你们的歌词主题集中在疾病、死亡、肢解等（Diseases, Gore, Death, Mutilation）。是什么吸引你们长期探索这些极端主题？

Your lyrical themes focus on diseases, gore, death, and mutilation. What draws you to explore these extreme topics over such a long time?

L: 我们的歌词是一个我们必须谈论一些话题的地方，如病理学、残割、疾病和法医学，总的来说，它们对我们来说是引人入胜的主题，但在如此多的冲突、战争和如此多的和谐与和平共存的困难与意识形态分歧的时代，它也是一个揭露和反思人类暴力及其对我们社会反思的地方。我们仍然明白，揭露这种可恶的人类特征有很多意义，这是我们对这些问题的抗议形式。我们不能忘记致命的垃圾戈尔电影中的灵感，这些电影让我们看到了人类灵魂的黑暗面。

Our lyrics are a place we have to talk about some topics such as pathologies, mutilations, diseases and forensic medicine, in general they are fascinating themes for us, but it is also a place to expose and raise reflections on human violence and its reflections on our society, in times of so many conflicts, wars and so many difficulties of coexistence in a harmonious and peaceful way with ideologies that diverge. We still understand that there is a lot of relevance to expose this odious human trait and this is our form of protest in relation to these issues. We cannot forget the inspiration in the virulent Trash Gore films that expose us to this dark side of the human soul.

V: 乐队在2000年左右停止活动，并在2020年重新回归。是什么促使你们决定复活Vômito？

The band went inactive around 2000 and returned in 2020. What motivated you to bring Vômito back?

L: 这是对极端音乐的热情，以及通过它表达自己的需要。

It was the passion for extreme music and the need to express ourselves through it.

How has your creative mindset changed after the reunion compared to the 1990s?

At the beginning of the band we were still very young, we acted instinctively and followed the contemporary pattern, with the current line-up everyone composes, in a more organized way, the composition process involves a direct interaction between everyone, we have our style and the entire trajectory of the band and we try not to run away from it too much, but at the same time today there are other members and we try to add some new elements that each one brings from their experiences, giving more attention to our recordings. In short, with the maturity we have today, we were able to deliver a more cohesive and elaborate work.

V: 你们现在的阵容稳定吗？成员之间是怎么分工的？

Is your current lineup stable? How do you divide roles within the band?

Yes we have been together for about a year with this line-up and with it we have been doing live performances and recording in the studio, today we are, Douglas M. (bass), Edson R. (guitar), Robert P. (drums) and Léo M. (voice), we all compose for the band with emphasis on Douglas and Edson who has written most of the new songs, Léo writes the lyrics (with the contribution of his friends in some sounds, Júnior Inchaki and Fabrício Terribile) and Robert is responsible for fitting the drums. Robert P. is still a designer and tattoo artist and he has been the designer of the art for our covers and t-shirts. Douglas M. is a graphic designer responsible for the concept and design of our graphic and print part. Edson R. his background is luthier. Another important part of the band has been the dissemination on social networks in charge of Fabiana M. (Léo M.'s partner) who manages, organizes the posts and communicates.

V: 关于你们创作的作品，你们最满意的一部？未来会有新作品吗？

Among your releases, which one are you most satisfied with? Are there any plans for new material?

L: 在已经发布的材料中，我真的很喜欢我们与GORE乐队的Spiklt，歌曲和录音都很好，但我相信最好的是即将到来的，我们计划与一个已经录制好的日本乐队一起制作一张新的split 7“EP，这张EP非常好，计划于2026年在东欧发行一张全长EP，这将带来乐队的所有新阶段。等等！

Of the materials already released I really like our split with the band Gore, the songs and the recording were very good, but I believe that the best is what is to come, we have plans for a new Split 7"EP with a band from Japan that is already recorded and was very good and a Full Length is planned for 2026 that will be released in Eastern Europe and will bring all this new phase of the band. Wait!

R: 从我接手Vomiting的鼓槌那一刻起，我就很荣幸，我对我帮助发布的所有材料都有特殊的感情。..但我说，与Lipoma合作的Split 7“EP我认为是我最喜欢的，因为它的封面上有我的艺术，事实上，这是我在某个地方发表的第一张艺术作品，这太令人兴奋了！新材料的计划一直在沸腾，如果我是你，你会睁大眼睛的！

From the moment I stepped in and took over the drumsticks at Vomiting, it's been an honor and I have a special affection for all the materials I've helped release... But I say that the Split 7"EP with Lipoma I consider my favorite because it carries my art on the cover, in fact the first art of mine published somewhere, this is mind-blowing! And plans for new material boil all the time, if I were you you would keep your eyes open!

E: 到目前为止，我只与乐队一起发行了Rotten Brain Produces Mexico的Split tape VÔMITO/EXPURGO，名为“Excretado ao vivo”，我对此感到非常自豪！但很快就会有更多的材料问世...

So far I have released with the band only the Split tape VÔMITO/EXPURGO by Rotten Brain Produtions Mexico, entitled "Excretado ao vivo" of which I am very proud! But soon more materials are coming out...

D: 目前让我最满意的是Split 7“带脂肪瘤的EP”In Nauseam Exercitium ex Dissectionis Cadaverosus/Studies In Clinical Anatomy”的发布，以及即将在工作室录制的完整版，这是我们在不久的将来要做的最大的工作。

What makes me most satisfied at the moment is the release of the Split 7" EP with the Lipoma "In Nauseam Exercitium ex Dissectionis Cadaverosus / Studies in Clinical Anatomy" and also the Full that is about to be recorded in the studio, our biggest work to be done in the near future.

V: 如果用一句话来形容Vômito，你们会怎么说？ 

If you had to describe Vômito in one sentence, what would it be?

L: 声音龙卷风撕裂尸体，所到之处都是鲜血和内脏。

Sound tornado tearing apart bodies and spreading blood and guts wherever it goes.

V: 最后，为了让更多人关注你们，你们可以对中国的乐迷说几句吗？
