继承衣钵 - 加拿大Death Metal乐队Bleeding Remains专访

今天采访到的是来自加拿大的一支比较年轻的乐队Bleeding Remains，组建于2018年的Bleeding Remains乐队最初是由一对父子组建的，Justin担任鼓手，Pat担任吉他手并且在2020年发行了一张三首歌曲的Demo作品，一张充满邪恶气息的Old School Death Metal的作品，迅速得到了加拿大本土歌迷的认可，2022Max以歌手的身份加入乐队并且发行了他们的第一张正式专辑“None So Fucked”，这张专辑也由加拿大著名厂牌CDN Records发行，这张专辑依旧保持着他们Old School Death Metal的风格，专辑发行之后收到了更多歌迷和乐评人的好评，2025年新的贝斯手Mikee加入乐队，使得乐队完善了阵容，目前乐队已经开始展开第二张专辑的创作，新专辑的歌词将由鼓手Justin撰写，讲述了21岁的Justin对于这个世界的看法，前不久乐队的鼓手Justin与杂志取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview is with Bleeding Remains, a relatively young Canadian band formed in 2018. The band was originally formed by a father son duo, with Justin as the drummer, Pat served as a guitarist and released a demo of three songs in 2020, a work full of evil Old School Death Metal, which quickly gained recognition from Canadian fans. In 2022, Max joined the band as a singer and released their first official album "None So Fucked", which was also released by the famous Canadian label CDN Records. This album still maintained their Old School Death Metal style and received more praise from fans and music critics after its release. In 2025, the new bassist Mikee joined the band, which improved their lineup. Currently, the band has begun to create their second album, and the lyrics of the new album will be released. Written by drummer Justin, it tells the story of 21-year-old Justin's perspective on the world. Recently, the band's drummer Justin I contacted the magazine for an exclusive interview!

Hello Justin, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let me say hello to all Chinese fans and friends. Bleeding Remains was founded in 2018 and is a younger band. How did you form this band in the first place?

J: 谢谢你邀请我们，这真的很酷，很感激！所以我们开始了在我13岁的时候，我和爸爸Pat只是为了一起演奏音乐的乐趣。我是鼓手，他是吉他手。然后我们创作了一首歌，名为"Final Exhumation"，两个月后，即2018年6月，我们有了一个完整的阵容并永久组建了乐队。那是早期！有了这个阵容，我们在2019年发行了一张EP，我们最终为我们的第一张专辑重新录制了三首歌曲。

Thank you for having us, it's really cool and appreciated! So, we started the project just the both of us, me and my dad Pat when I was 13, just for the fun of playing music together. I am drums and he is the guitar player. Then we create a song that became Final Exhumation and two months later, June 2018, we got a full lineup and had started the band for good. That was the early-early days! With that lineup, we released a kind of EP in 2019, three songs that we eventually re- recorded for our first album.

V: 你和Pat都是乐队里第一任成员，而其他成员都加入了2022年至2025年间。新成员是怎么加入乐队的？你对新成员的工作满意吗？新成员为乐队带来了哪些新的创作灵感？

You and your Pat both remain in the band, while the other members joined between 2022-2025. How did the new members join the band? Are you satisfied with the new member's job? What new changes has the addition of new members brought to the band?

Well I knew Max, our vocalist, prior to the band because we had played a show with his older band Beholder. That was 2019 and in 2022 we crossed paths at a Circle Jerks show and then he told me he was looking for a new band and Bleeding didn't had a vocalist at that period so we tried and it fits just right! I think he has the voice we were looking for and he brings a brute attitude! He is a great vocalist and frontman! He knows how to do his job! And for Mikee, we play together in another band called Wodos, which is thrash metal. He plays guitar but I knew he played bass a little bit and we were looking for someone to fill-in for some dates for our album release shows in early 2025 so I asked him if he wanted to take duty on bass and he accepted and learned our songs very quickly so that was awesome. He still play with us, we did a couple shows since and he take part in the new songs. Really good guy and beer drinker! This lineup is the band's real image! The rebels of death!

V: 你们乐队的音乐主题是什么？你为什么选择这个音乐主题，你想通过这个音乐主题表达什么？你还创建了歌词部分。谁创作了这些歌词，是什么启发了他们？

What is the music theme of your band about? Why did you choose this music theme, and what do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

We play old school death metal because I think it’s the best genre! Influenced by alot of things. We try to make our band unique and more ferocious than others. We have a different song structure than many bands, like we have no solo, and most are short songs. We keep it simple but it’s so more efficient and brutal. That makes our music different so, more badass! Excepted for our first 4 songs that talks about zombie, blood and guts! every songs has a serious meaning and it is better subjects. It talks about society, the modern world, mental health, problems we have, reality, you know? We want to express, to scream the anger, the fear, the pain that whoever can have! It's songs about people like you or me, facing struggles or bad time, it's about the shitty money, , wars, system, the future. The hell we live in. It's about my vision as a 21 years old, not ready for this future. I am describing this world to which I do not feel I belong you know, progress and advancement, I see nothing in it. It's only regression and decline. And I am so different than others of my generation. So, it’s pretty a statement! I feel the need to write about all this, I think it's important. I'm sure a lot of people could relate to me.

V: 你的作品录音效果很好。你的专辑是在哪个录音室录制的？哪位制作人为你制作了这张专辑？新专辑的录制过程进展顺利吗？

Your works have excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record your album in? Which producer made the album for you? Is the recording process of the new album progressing smoothly?

J: 我们在魁北克的Berthier-sur-Mer录制了Zachary Paré的专辑"NONE SO FUCKED"。这是一个非常酷的工作室，不错的地方。我必须说，我们现在正处于创作模式！我们已经完成了歌曲，我们已经现场演奏了一些，剩下的就要来了！总是有即兴重复段的想法，所以我想我们很快就会有下一张专辑。这将是第一张专辑的后续，但我们会确保它更重好多了！我们还将确保为下一张唱片提供一种更老派的声音，就像我们想要的那样。一种代表我们车库一侧的声音。

We recorded our album, NONE SO FUCKED, at Berthier-sur-Mer in Quebec by Zachary Paré . It is a really cool studio, nice place. We are now in the composing mode I must say! We have songs done, we played some live already, and the rest is to come! Always has riffs idea so I think we'll have a album soon. It will be a follow-up to the first album, but we'll make sure to make it more heavy and better! We'll also make sure to have a very more oldschool sound for that next record like we want to. A sound that will represent our garage side.

Your band's logo design is very unique. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork design is also very unique. Who designed this artwork for you and what does it mean?

Well thank you! I must say it's a nice logo, yeah! It was made by a guy under the name Hate My Design I think, in 2019. We didn't changed it since, except the color. I think it has no need to be changed for now, it is very bloody and evil! And the album artwork is by DREAM CREATURES. The concept was mine, I wanted something that should represent the time that is passing by before the world dies, goes in extinction. None so fucked means that all of us living right now are in some disastrous times, that will never move forward positively and we are fucked, doomed for this future, especially the younger ones like me.

Your band's album was released by CDN Records for you. This is an excellent label in your country that has released albums for many bands. How did you get in touch with this label to collaborate? Are you satisfied with the job at this brand?

J:是CDN records的招聘人员Bob Shaw（R.I.P.）在youtube上发布我们的第一首单曲"Cadaverous Inception"后给我们写信的。他非常喜欢这首歌并邀请我们加入唱片公司。他们真的是很棒的人。向克雷格·纽曼和卡姆致敬！

It was Bob Shaw(R.I.P.) a recruiter for CDN records, that wrote to us after hearing our first single Cadaverous Inception when it dropped on youtube. He liked the song very much and offered us to join the label. They are really great people. Shoutout to Craig Newman and Cam!

V: 首先，祝贺你的乐队在2024年发行了他们的第一张专辑。你的作品深受老派死亡金属、复古和激动人心的Riff。你对鼓部分的控制也很精准，歌手的残酷而激烈的歌声也很令人兴奋。你自己的看法是什么工作？

First of all, congratulations to your band for releasing their first album in 2024. Your work has been heavily influenced by Old School Death Metal, retro and exciting Riff. Your control over the drum part is also very precise, and the singer's cruel and fierce singing is also very exciting. What is your opinion on your own work?

J: 我认为这张专辑很棒，我认为Max是Bleeding Remains的声音，我不会改变他的，我们在唱片上听到他真的很好！结果是我个人认为这很残酷，但在音乐上太干净了。我们有老派/面对面的声音，我们有态度，我们有节奏，所以我认为我们的第二张专辑可以变得更好、更真实，就像我们玩节目或即兴演奏一样。我希望我的鼓在下一张唱片上更重、更具统治力。我们有完美的阵容。这听起来既神奇又卑鄙！

The album I think it is great, I think Max is the voice of Bleeding Remains, I wouldn't change him and we hear him really good on the record! The result is brutal but musically too clean, I think personally. We have the old school/ in your face sound, we have the attitude, we have the groove so I think our 2nd album can be lot better and more real like when we play shows or jam. I wish my drums to be more heavy and dominant on the next record. We have the perfect lineup. It gonna sounds amazing and mean!

V: 作为一个新乐队，你参加了什么演出，参加了哪些演出给你留下深刻印象了吗？你能介绍一下现场的气氛吗？2026年你还计划参加哪些其他表演活动？

As a new band, what performances have you participated in and which ones have left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the live atmosphere at that time? What other performance activities are you planning to participate in in 2026?

J: 当然，这些年来我们也在魁北克的蒙特利尔玩过几次，我们有很酷的节目，比如2024年的第一场处女秀……但自从专辑发行以来，我们做的每一场节目都很好，我们比以往任何时候都好，而且它会越来越大！我们刚刚第一次和安大略队比赛，上个月它绝对是摇滚乐！迫不及待地想做更多的节目和玩新的地方！制作这张专辑是目前的首要任务，但一些节目将在今年晚些时候公布。

We played, of course, Quebec city a couple times over the years as well Montreal, we had cool shows like our first headliner show in 2024... but since the album release, every shows we do are really good and we are better than ever and it's gonna be greater and greater! We just played Ontario for the first time last month and it was absolute rock 'n roll! Can't wait to do more shows and play new places! Composing the album is in the priorities right now, but some shows will be announced for later this year.

V: 2026年你有什么新工作要做？我听说你正在创造一个新的专辑。你能谈谈这张新专辑的创意吗？

What new work do you have to do in 2026? I heard that you are creating a new album. Can you talk about the creative concept of the new album?

J: 是的，我在采访中已经提到过几次了，哈哈，抱歉，是的，我们现在正在制作第二张唱片。刚完成的几首歌太疯狂了，迫不及待地想与大家分享更多！这将是一个非常重要的，为乐队和我自己录制唱片。这张专辑更个人化。这是我所有的愿景、经历、想法等……这将是一张地狱般的专辑！我告诉你！

Yes, I mentioned it a couple times already in the interview HAHA sorry but yeah we're composing our second record at the moment. First couple songs done are insane, can't wait to share more with everyone! This will be a very important record for the band and for me as well. This album is more personal. It's all my vision, experiences, thoughts etc... It's gonna be one hell of an album! I tell you!
