堕落的人类 - 印度尼西亚Brutal Death Metal乐队Devastrosity专访
今天为大家采访到的还是一支来自印度尼西亚的Brutal Death Metal乐队Devastrosity，这支乐队也是之前采访的Deserter乐队歌手Ardian参与的另外一只乐队，Devastrosity乐队成立于2023年是一支非常年轻的乐队，目前乐队与美国著名厂牌Comatose Music合作发行了一张Demo作品“Human Depravation”，虽然这张Demo作品只有两首歌曲，但是却展现出乐队成员的才华，目前乐队也录制完成第一张专辑的所有歌曲，由Comatose Music厂牌2024年发行，前不久乐队歌手Ardian与我取得联系进行了一次采访！

Today we have an interview with Devastrosity, a Brutal Death Metal band from Indonesia, which is also the other band of Deserter's singer Ardian that we interviewed earlier, Devastrosity is a very young band that was formed in 2023 and has released a demo “Human Depravation” in collaboration with the famous American label Comatose Music. Hello Ardian. Nice to see you again. The last interview attracted a lot of attention. This year I am interviewing your other band Devastrosity again. This is a very young band founded in 2023. Who proposed it? This band that was formed? Does the name Devastrosity mean anything?
A: 嘿，哥们儿，很高兴能再次见到你，哈哈。Devastrosity这个名字是经过深思熟虑后产生的。我们当时都参与了不同的音乐项目，演奏各种类型的音乐，于是决定涉足Brutal Death Metal（我们的另一支乐队Explores Technical / Progressive Death Metal）是我提出了这个想法并将乐队命名为Devastrosity，这是“Devastate”和“Monstrosity”的混合体，旨在挑战罗比（吉他手）和比利（鼓手）释放他们的潜能。
Hey buddy, great to catch up for another band interview, haha. The idea for Devastrosity came about after a lot of contemplation. We were all involved in different musical projects, playing various genres, and decided to venture into Brutal Death Metal (our other band explores Technical/Progressive Death Metal). I was the one who pitched the idea and named the band Devastrosity, a blend of "Devastate" and "Monstrosity," challenging Roby (guitar) and Billy (drums) to unleash their potential.

How does your band usually compose songs? Can you introduce the creative process? Your demo works are very good in terms of recording. In which studio did you record the album? Which producer produced your album?

Our songwriting process usually starts with guitar riffs and drum mapping, often done on Guitar Pro. Occasionally, we jam in the studio to build chemistry. However, there were instances where we began with drums first, driven by Billy's personal ideas. We recorded and mixed the demo material at Resonance Beast Studio, with Roby handling the production. Lio Dwika (Ultra Organic Studio, Invigorate) assisted with mastering.

What is your music about? What do you want to express through this musical theme? Did you write any lyrics? Who wrote these lyrics? What was his inspiration?
A: Devastrosity体现了“Devastate”和“Monstrosity”的融合，象征着人类的贪婪所带来的灾难，导致人类面临灭亡的末日景象。畸形的特征代表了人性向堕落的变异，反映在“Human Depravation”和“Devastate Atrocity”等曲目中。
Devastrosity embodies the fusion of "Devastate" and "Monstrosity," symbolizing the havoc wrought by human greed, leading to an apocalyptic scenario where humanity faces its own annihilation. The monstrous character represents the mutation of human nature towards depravity, reflecting in tracks like Human Depravation and Devastate Atrocity.
V: Comatose Music 为你们发行了“Human Depravation”。这是一个非常好的厂牌。你们是如何与厂牌取得联系进行合作的呢？？
Comatose Music released "Human Depravation" for you. This is a very good label. How did Nieminen get in touch for cooperation?
A: 我们的材料即使是粗糙的混音，也获得了Comatose Music的积极反馈，有可能合作发行专辑。尽管我们在其他乐队都有过合作经验，但考虑到我们在音乐界的影响力相对较小，因此我们稍作改良，制作了“Human Depravation”的Demo，作为介绍和宣传工具。
Even in its rought mix, our material garnered positive feedback from Comatose Music for a potential album collaboration. We refined it slightly to create the "Human Depravation" Demo as an introduction and promotional tool, considering our relatively new presence in the scene, despite our collective experience in other bands.

Your logo and album artwork are really beautifully designed. I love your artwork, especially the “Human Depravation” artwork. Who designed these artworks for you?
A: Logo是由Rio Oscaryzm根据我最初的草图设计的，而艺术品则是由我们才华横溢的朋友 Rudi Gorging Suicide制作的。他们成功地将我的设想变为现实。
The logo, designed by Rio Oscaryzm, is based on my initial sketch, while the artwork is crafted by our talented friend, Rudi Gorging Suicide. They successfully brought my vision to life.

First of all, congratulations on your release of "Human Depravation". It's a morbid piece of work, with fast continuous riffs, very aggressive, and the drummer's performance is wonderful, fast and accurate, which left a deep impression on me, you guys 's work reminds me a lot of American bands, what do you think of your own work?
A: 谢谢夸奖，我们的目标是将野性与现代声音融合在一起。对我们来说残酷不仅仅是速度，而是材料的密度、坚实的乐段和非线性的鼓点，所有这些都属于Brutal Death Metal的范畴。
Thanks for the compliments. Our aim is to blend brutality with a modern sound. For us, brutality isn't just about speed; it's about the intense density of the material, solid riffs, and non-linear drum patterns, all within the realm of brutal death metal.
V: 你们乐队参加过哪些现场表演？哪些现场表演给你留下了深刻的印象？能谈谈当时的现场气氛吗？
Which live performances have your band participated in? Which live performances left a deep impression on you? Can you tell us about the live atmosphere at that time?
A: 作为一支相对较新的乐队，我们最近才开始排练和录音。录制完成后，现场表演肯定会提上我们的日程。希望这一天早日到来。
As a relatively new band, we've only recently started rehearsing and recording. Performing live is definitely on our agenda once we've completed recording. Hopefully, that day will come soon.
V: 你们乐队在2024年有什么新的作品吗？比如创作、录制新歌或发行首张正式专辑时，能向大家透露一些信息吗？
Do you have any new work coming up as a band in 2024? For example, when creating, recording some new songs or releasing your first official album, can you reveal some information to everyone?
A: 整张专辑的素材已经准备就绪，我们将在下个月开始录制。我们的目标是在今年通过 Comatose Music完成并发行这张专辑，希望一切顺利。
The material for the entire album is ready, and we're set to begin recording next month. Our goal is to have the album completed and released this year through Comatose Music. Fingers crossed for a smooth process.

Although Devastrosity is a very young band, you are a very mature band. I will always support and follow your band. In the end, is there anything you want to say to your Chinese fans and friends?
