挪威作为Black Metal最重要的国家，在这个国家孕育了大量的国际知名乐队，他们不仅仅在名气上获得了成功，也在影响力达到了全世界的范围，很多国家的黑金属乐队都在影响名单中列举了多支来自挪威的乐队，当然在这个国家也有世界闻名的音乐节和一些被所有歌迷津津乐道的故事发生，同时也有很多年轻的乐队在挪威成立，虽然他们是很年轻的乐队，但是在这些年轻的乐队当中不缺乏优秀的乐队，今天杂志就采访到了这样一支来自挪威的年轻Black Metal乐队Northern Krig，组建于2021年的Northern Krig乐队已经发行了多张作品。尤其是今年乐队发行了他们的第二张正式专辑和最新单曲“Return of the Elfking”，得到了众多歌迷的任何和关注，乐队使用吉他营造出一种冷酷，邪恶，黑暗的氛围，给人一种无尽的痛苦，乐队整体使用中慢速的创作方式，并没有使用炸裂的节奏来吸引歌迷，相反这种缓慢的节奏更加的反应出乐队对于邪恶氛围的营造，歌手低沉，邪恶的演唱，仿佛是在低吟一种古老而邪恶的咒语，在招呼撒旦的降临，在新单曲发行之际杂志与乐队的Grenjara和Morfran取得联系进行了一次专访！

As the premier nation for black metal, Norway has birthed a multitude of internationally renowned bands that have achieved both fame and global influence; indeed, black metal acts from countless countries cite Norwegian bands as key inspirations. The country is also home to world-famous festivals and the setting for legendary tales cherished by fans. Amidst this scene, new bands continue to emerge, and among these up-and-comers, there are truly exceptional talents. Today, we interview one such young Norwegian black metal band: Northern Krig. Formed in 2021, Northern Krig has already released several works. Notably, the band released their second full-length album and the latest single, "Return of the Elfking," this year, garnering significant acclaim and attention from fans. They utilize guitars to craft an atmosphere that is cold, evil, and dark, evoking a sense of boundless anguish. Favoring mid-to-slow tempos over explosive rhythms, the band allows the deliberate pacing to heighten the sinister atmosphere they cultivate. The vocalist’s deep, malevolent delivery sounds like the chanting of an ancient, wicked incantation summoning the arrival of Satan. To mark the release of their new single, we connected with the band members Grenjara and Morfran for an exclusive interview.

V: 兄弟你好，很高兴认识你，非常感谢你能接受这次采访。我想这是你们乐队首次接受中国杂志的采访。首先向大家打个招呼，介绍一下自己以及乐队是如何组建的？

Hello brother, it's nice to meet you and I'm very grateful that you could participate in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, please say hello to everyone and introduce yourself and how the band was formed?

A: 大家好！我们是挪威Black Metal乐队Northern Krig的成员Grenjara和Morfran。该乐队原名“Skyrsdag”，于 2022 年顺利更名为“Northern Krig”。不过，这一过程实际上是一个全新的开始。在形成目前的阵容之前，乐队的阵容经历了不断的变化。

Hails! We are Grenjara and Morfran from the Norwegian black metal band Northern Krig. The band formerly known as “Skyrsdag” seamlessly transitioned into “Northern Krig” in 2022. However, this process was a complete fresh start. Leading up to the current lineup, there were constant changes in the band's lineup.

V: 你们乐队一直保持着三人阵容，但今年更换了一位新鼓手。第一任鼓手为何离开乐队？新鼓手是如何加入的？你们对这位新成员的表现满意吗？他为乐队带来了哪些新的创作灵感？

Your band has always maintained a three-person lineup, but you changed to a new drummer this year. Why did the first drummer leave the band? How did the new drummer join the band? Are you satisfied with the new member's work? What new creative inspiration has the new member brought to the band?

A: 这样说不太准确。我们有一位新加入的女贝斯手，今后她还将接手部分主唱工作。前任贝斯手是因为时间安排冲突而离开了乐队。是的，当然——我们对新的阵容非常满意。我们彼此配合得非常默契。我们两人共同领导乐队；此外还有一位录音室鼓手（Maikon）和一位现场鼓手（Terrorsårg）。Grenjara为乐队带来了全新的黑暗氛围，以及许多精美的“人骨”元素和病态的素材。

That’s not quite correct. We have a new female bassist who will also be taking over some of the vocals going forward. The previous bassist left the band due to lack of time. Yes, of course - we are very happy with the new lineup. We complement each other very well. We lead the band together as a duo; we also have a studio drummer (Maikon) and a live drummer (Terrorsårg). Grenjara has brought a new kind of dark atmosphere and many beautiful human bones and morbid stuff.

V: 你们乐队的创作过程是怎样展开的？能描述一下吗？你们今年发行了一首新单曲；这首单曲的创作过程顺利吗？

How did your band's creative process progress? Could you describe it? You released a new single this year; was the creation of this single smooth?

A: 我们不明白这些问题。我们只是录制歌曲。如果歌曲好，就会收录到专辑里；如果不好，那就不会收录。我们不会特意坐下来思考如何让我们的音乐显得特别残暴或激进。不过，我们又能懂什么呢？也许这就是做音乐的方式。每首歌的创作大约需要一个小时，但要找到心情恰到好处、能将这首歌发挥到极致的日子，抓住那个瞬间……对我们来说，这是一个非常私密且敏感的阶段，时间窗口非常狭窄。这就是艺术，而这可能需要更长时间。我们的大部分歌曲都是一次过就录好了。

We don't understand the questions. We record songs. If the songs are good, they make it onto the album; if not, then they don't. We don't sit down and think about how to make our music particularly brutal or aggressive. But what do we know? Maybe that's how it's done. The songwriting takes about an hour per song, but finding the right day when you're in the right mood to get the most out of that song, finding the moment... for us, that's a very intimate and sensitive phase, with a very small window of time. That's the art, and that can take longer. Most of our songs are one-takes.

V: 你们发行了不少专辑，每张专辑的录音质量都极为精良，每个细节都清晰可辨。这些专辑是在哪家录音室录制的？由哪位制作人操刀？新单曲的录制过程进展顺利吗？

You've released quite a few albums, and the recording quality of each one is exquisite, with every detail clearly audible. Which studio recorded your albums? Which producer produced them? Is the recording process for your new single going smoothly

A: 我们通过自己的厂牌“Icelandic Fire Records”独立发行所有作品，歌曲的混音工作也由我们自己完成。母带处理则在Totenklang Studios完成。

We release everything ourselves through our own label “Icelandic Fire Records” and we also do the mixing of our songs. The mastering is done at Totenklang Studios.

V: 你们乐队的标志设计得很精美，但我觉得它看起来更像死亡金属的标志。这个标志是谁设计的？你们大部分专辑封面都使用了乐队成员的照片，但2024年的专辑封面却采用了尸体图像。这些封面设计是谁负责的？

Your band's logo is beautifully designed, but I think it looks more like a death metal logo. Who designed this logo for you? Most of your album artwork uses photos of your members, but the 2024 artwork uses corpses. Who designed these artworks for you?

A: 我们的一个朋友为我们设计了标志。专辑封面设计全由我们自己完成。

A friend of ours designed the logo for us. We design all the album artworks ourselves.

V: 你们的音乐以撒旦为主题，这是大多数黑金属音乐的主要灵感来源。对于这个主题，你们有什么想法或见解吗？你们是否信奉撒旦教？歌词是由你们自己创作的吗？

Your music is about Satan, which is a major source of inspiration for most black metal. Do you have any thoughts or insights about this theme? Do you practice Satanism? Do you write any lyrics?

A: 金属档案网上的介绍就是这么写的，对吧。在歌词方面，我们确实更侧重于厌世主题，具体包括自杀、自厌、暴力犯罪以及人类最深邃的深渊。我们并不遵循传统意义上的撒旦教，而是以我们自己的方式践行。所有歌词都是由我们自己创作的。

That's what it says on metal archives, right. Lyrically, we definitely focus more on themes of misanthropy, broken down into suicide, self-hatred, violent crimes and the deepest abysses of humanity. We don't practice Satanism in the traditional sense, but in our own way. All our lyrics are written by ourselves.

V: 你们的专辑由Icelandic Fire Records发行。你们是如何联系并和这家厂牌合作的？对他们的工作满意吗？

Icelandic Fire Records released your album. How did you contact and collaborate with this label? Are you satisfied with their work?

A: 我们是Icelandic Fire Records。无需多言。

We are Icelandic Fire Records. There's nothing more to say.

V: 首先，恭喜你们乐队今年发行了第二张专辑和最新单曲。你们的作品风格粗犷、阴暗，配以狂野的鼓点和疯狂的吉他即兴段落。你们没有过多依赖氛围铺垫，而是直奔主题。不过，在营造氛围方面，你们做得非常出色。主唱那沙哑而冰冷的嗓音，确实让作品充分体现了那种阴暗而冰冷的氛围。你们对自己的作品有什么看法？

First of all, congratulations to your band on releasing your second album and latest single this year. Your work is raw, dark, with crazy drumbeats and crazy riffs. You don't use too much atmosphere to build up, but instead go straight to the point. However, you do a great job in terms of atmosphere. The singer's hoarse and cold singing really makes your work reflect that dark and cold feeling. What are your thoughts on your work?

A: 谢谢你的理解。我们创作的正是自己闲暇时想听的那种音乐。首先，我们是为自己创作音乐的——我们必须喜欢它。当然，如果能打动其他人，我们也会感到高兴，但我们认为，如果仅仅为了打动他人而创作音乐，就永远无法真正表达出你想表达的内容和你的真实感受。

Thanks for that. We make the kind of music we want to listen to in our free time. First and foremost, we produce music for ourselves—we have to like it. Of course, we’re happy when we reach other people as well but we think that if you make music solely with the intention of reaching other people, it would never truly express what you want to express and what you feel.

V: 你参加过现场演出吗？哪些现场演出给你留下了深刻印象？能否描述一下当时的氛围？2026年你计划参加哪些现场演出？

Have you attended any live performances? Which live performances left a deep impression on you? Could you describe the atmosphere at the time? What live performances are you planning to attend in 2026?

A: 在现场演出方面，我们对自己设定了极高的标准，但目前由于心理健康原因，我们无法达到这些标准。因此，我们暂时没有安排任何现场演出。未来会如何，甚至我们是否还能继续存在，只有时间能给出答案。

We set extremely high standards for ourselves when it comes to live performances, which we are currently unable to fulfill because of mental health reasons. Therefore, we have no live gigs planned for the time being. Only time will tell what will be in the future and whether we will exist at all.

V: 挪威是黑金属的重要发源地，贵国拥有许多经典的黑金属乐队和关于黑金属的传奇故事。关于贵国的金属乐坛，你想说些什么？你会向大家推荐哪些乐队？

Norway is an important birthplace of black metal, and your country has many classic black metal bands and stories about black metal. What would you like to say about the metal scene in your country? Which bands would you recommend to everyone?

A: 挪威就是黑金属乐坛！挪威有太多优秀的乐队了。但若要举几个例子：仅就挪威黑金属圈而言，就有Jotunspor、Kaosritual和Djevel。从全球范围来看，Paysage d’Hiver和Semen Drenched Slave of the Devil也值得一提。

Norway IS the black metal scene! There are so many great bands in Norway. But to name a few: From the Norwegian black metal scene, for example, there are Jotunspor, Kaosritual and Djevel. On a global scale, Paysage d’Hiver and Semen Drenched Slave of the Devil are worth mentioning.

V: 你们是一支非常年轻的乐队，但作品却十分成熟且气势恢宏。你们是一支前途无量的乐队。我将继续关注并支持你们。也希望很快能听到你们的新作。采访即将结束，你们想对中国的乐迷说些什么吗？

You are a very young band, but your works are mature and grand. You are a very promising band. I will continue to follow and support your band. I also hope to hear your new works soon. The interview is about to end. Is there anything you would like to say to your Chinese fans?

A: 感谢您对我们乐队的关注，以及对挪威Black Metal乐坛的支持。我们的地下音乐如今能触达全球听众，这让我们感到惊喜。我们目前正在制作一张双黑胶专辑，预计将于2027年夏季或秋季发行。该专辑将包含我们的最新专辑"Worship Files for Anthropophagolagnia Predators"以及另一张目前正在录制中的黑胶唱片。

Thank you for your interest in our band and for your support of the Norwegian black metal scene. We’re pleasantly surprised that our underground music is now reaching a global audience. We’re currently working on a double vinyl album, which is expected to be released in summer or fall of 2027. It will consist of our latest album “Worship Files for Anthropophagolagnia Predators” and another LP that is currently in the recording phase.
