隐藏在谎言中的真相 - 哥伦比亚Brutal Death Metal乐队Decarabion

今天采访到的是来自哥伦比亚Daniel Lara参与的另外一支乐队Decarabion，这也是Daniel Lara参与乐队的最后一支乐队，2018年歌手Sebastian联系Daniel Lara想组建一支新的乐队并且两个人有共同的爱好，不久之后Decarabion乐队成立，2019年乐队发行了单曲“Schizoid Proliferation of Insanity”，2020年乐队的第一张正式专辑“Bastard Son of Divinity”在美国厂牌Unmatched Brutality Records发行，张唱片是一张纯粹的残酷之作，其中有大量的blast beats以及富有创造力的吉他旋律。这张唱片的制作质量也很高，考虑到这张唱片的混乱程度，这一点非常值得赞赏。事实上混乱正是他们在音乐、封面设计和歌词中所追求的。Decarabion的歌词也谈到了恶魔、启示录以及毁灭和创造万物的宇宙循环。在我看来鼓声完美地融合了技术性和朗朗上口的旋律，我只是希望低音鼓的声音能再大一点，因为它太疯狂了。低音鼓也有点类似，它很有力，不过如果能有至少一段低音独奏就更好了。但总的来说，一切听起来都很紧凑，我反复听这张专辑也不会觉得累，事实上我甚至很喜欢简短的前奏和尾奏，他们的特点是演奏速度快，有大量的内脏音、沉重的旋律和低音调。2023年乐队的最新EP专辑“Hidden in Delirium, Reality Revealed”发行，依旧还是保持着高水准的制作，前不久Daniel Lara与杂志取得联系进行了一次采访！

Today's interview is with Decarabion, another band from Colombia in which Daniel Lara is involved, this is the last band in which Daniel Lara is involved. Decarabion was formed and in 2019 the band released the single “Schizoid Proliferation of Insanity” and in 2020 the band's first official album “Bastard Son of Divinity” was released in the USA. In 2020 the band's first official album, “Bastard Son of Divinity”, was released on the US label Unmatched Brutality Records, and is a work of pure brutality, with plenty of blast beats and inventive guitar riffs. The production quality is also very high, which is very much appreciated considering how chaotic this record is. In fact chaos is exactly what they strive for in their music, cover art and lyrics, Decarabion's lyrics also talk about demons, the apocalypse and the cosmic cycle of destruction and creation of all things. In my opinion the drums are a perfect blend of technicality and catchy melodies, I just wish the bass drum was a little bit louder because it's insane. The bass drum is kind of similar, it's powerful, though it would have been nice to have at least one bass solo. But overall, everything sounds tight and I don't get tired of listening to this album over and over again, in fact I even like the short intro and outro, which are characterized by fast playing, lots of visceral sounds, heavy melodies and low tones. 2023 saw the release of the band's newest EP album “Hidden in Delirium, Reality In 2023 the band's latest EP “Hidden in Delirium, Revealed” is released, still with the same high level of production, and Daniel Lara got in touch with the magazine for an interview!

Daniel Lara this is the last interview from a band you've been involved with, Decarabion was formed in 2018 and has been going for six years now, how did you guys form this band in the first place?

D: 嗨，好吧，2018年Sebastian联系了我，除了他的其他乐队之外，他还想做一个新的Brutal Death Metal项目。我们开始创作歌曲，因为我们都有共同的影响，所以一切都非常顺利。

Hi. Well, in 2018 Sebastian contacted me wanting to make a new Brutal Death Metal Project besides his other bands. We started to make the songs and everything flowed perfectly because of the shared influences we both have.

V: 你和主唱Sebastián Guarín是乐队现在唯一的第一代成员，其他成员都换了，为什么第一代成员退出了乐队？新成员是如何加入乐队的？你对新成员的工作满意吗？

You and singer Sebastián Guarín are the only first-generation members of the band now, the rest of the members have changed, why did the first-generation members quit the band? How did the new members join the band? Are you satisfied with the work of the new members?

D: 是的，我们从一开始就和Oscar Callejas在一起。Oscar不得不离开乐队几年，但后来他又重新加入了乐队。现在我们有了一位新鼓手，名叫Denis Tovar，我们对现在的声音效果非常满意。

Yeah, we have been from the beginning with Oscar Callejas. Oscar had to be away from the band for a couple of years but then he rejoined. Now we are with a new drummer called Denis Tovar and we are very happy with the sound we are achieving right now.

V: 你能描述一下Decarabion的歌曲创作过程吗？

Can you describe the songwriting process for Decarabion's songs?

D: 在我和Sebastian就专辑的概念和我们想要的声音进行了几次讨论之后，歌曲创作就开始了。然后我开始设计歌曲的主要结构，Denis加入鼓点，Oscar加入贝斯，然后Sebastian加入他的演唱。一切都从我的房间开始。

The songs starts after a few talkings between Sebastian and me on the concept of the álbum and the sound we want. Then I start to craft the main structure of the song, Denis adds the drums, Oscar the bass lines and then Sebastian adds his vocal lines. It all starts in my room.

V: 你们乐队的专辑在录音效果方面都很出色，你们是在哪个录音室录制专辑的？哪位制作人制作了你们的专辑？

Your band's albums are great in terms of recording results, what studio did you record your albums in? Which producer produced your album?

D: 我们在不同的录音室录过唱片。第一张专辑是在Soundtech工作室录制的，由Robert Kok进行混音和母带制作。我们发行的最后一张专辑是在不同的地方录制的：弦乐是在我家录制的，鼓是在另一个城市的工作室录制的，人声是在Sebastián的工作室录制的。最后一张专辑的混音和母带由Mauricio Gallón制作。

We have recorded in different studios. The first álbum was recorded in Soundtech Studios, and was mixed and mastered by Robert Kok. The last ep we released was recorded in different places: strings were recorded at my home, drums were recorded at a studio in another city and vocals were recorded in Sebastián’s studio. The mix and master of the last ep was made by Mauricio Gallón.

V: Caosmology, Death, Demons, Humanity是你们乐队音乐的一些主题，你们为什么选择这些主题，想通过它们表达什么？你们写过歌词吗？

Caosmology, Death, Demons, Humanity are some of the themes in your band's music, why did you choose them and what do you want to express through them? Do you write any lyrics, who writes them and what inspires them?

We just tried to find a theme that we all like and I try to develop a concept around it. The idea was to try to develop a concept through the band albums and to try to tale something like a story. The story of how the world goes naturally to its own destruction.

V: 你们的Logo很漂亮，是谁设计的？你们的专辑封面也很漂亮，是谁为你们设计的？

Your logo is beautiful, who designed your logo and your album artwork is beautiful, who designed all the artwork for you?

D: Logo是由Kinguts乐队的Brian制作的，我们使用的艺术品由Adi Dechristianize和Ardha Lepa制作。

The logo was made by Brian from the band Kinguts. The arts we have used have been made by Adi Dechristianize and Ardha Lepa.

V: 你们与Unmatched Brutality Records合作发行了一张专辑，你们是如何与这家唱片公司联系合作的？你们对唱片公司的工作满意吗？

You guys released an album with Unmatched Brutality Records, how did you get in touch with the label to collaborate? Were you happy with the label's work?

D: Sebastián与UBR的Jamie Bailey取得了联系，他很喜欢我们的音乐。我们非常感谢UBR和 Jamie，因为这是我们职业生涯中非常好的第一步。

Sebastián got in touch with Jamie Bailey from UBR and he liked our music. We are very thankful with UBR and Jamie because it was a very Good first step in our career.

First of all, congratulations on the release of your latest EP album from 2023, which features Robbert Kok) from Disavowed, Fabio Marin from Internal Suffering, Jamie Bailey from Brodequin and Larry Wang from Gorepot, and I'd like to say that , this record is a work of pure brutality with plenty of blast beats as well as creative guitar melodies. The drums are a perfect blend of technicality and catchy melodies, everything sounds tight, played fast and heavy, what are your thoughts on your work?

D: 我们上一张专辑的主唱是来自Defeated Sanity的Josh Welshman、Devangelic的Paolo Pabs、Carnal的Javi和Cephalotripsy的 Angel Ochoa。我们对自己的声音总体上感到满意，但我们很高兴能展示我们最近的工作成果，我认为这更变态。

Well, the guests vocals for our last ep were Josh Welshman from Defeated Sanity, Paolo Pabs from Devangelic, Javi from Carnal and Angel Ochoa from Cephalotripsy. We are happy in overall of the sound we achieve but we are stoked to show what we have been working on lately, which I think is sicker.

V: 你们参加过很多音乐节，哪些音乐节给你们留下了深刻印象，能否描述一下音乐节的氛围，2025年还有那些音乐节邀请你们参加？

You guys have been to a lot of festivals, what festivals have impressed you and can you describe the atmosphere and what other festivals have invited you to attend in 2025?

D: 我们已经暂停现场表演一段时间了，因为Sebastian现在住在美国。顺便说一下我们正在筹备演出并将在2025年或2026年进行首次巡演。

We have been in a kind of a hiatus from live shows for a while because Sebastian is living in the USA right now. By the way, we are working on shows and our first tour for the upcoming 2025 or maybe 2026.

V: 你们乐队在2025年有哪些新计划？比如创作、录制新歌或发行新专辑？能向大家透露一些信息吗？

What are some of the new things your band is working on in 2025? Like writing, recording some new songs or releasing a new album? Can you reveal some information to the crowd?

D: 我们正在制作一张新的完整专辑。大概会有10-11首Colombian Brutal Death Metal歌曲。

We are working on a new full álbum. Probably 10 – 11 songs of colombian brutal death metal.

V: 你们是一支伟大的乐队，我会一直支持和关注你们，也希望通过这次采访能有更多的中国歌迷关注和支持你们的乐队，最后你们有什么想对中国歌迷说的吗？

You guys are a great band, I will always support and follow your band, and I hope that through this interview more Chinese fans will pay attention to and support your band, is there anything you would like to say to your Chinese fans at the end?

D: 我们想感谢你抽出时间来帮助我们向世界传播我们的音乐。希望中国的BDM乐迷喜欢我们的音乐！
