今天采访到的是来自德国的一支成立于2012年的老乐队Hatred Inherit，今年是乐队成立的14周年，由Phobiatic，Seventh Seal Broken等乐队的成员组建，在成立4年之后乐队才发布了他们的第一张EP专辑5首歌曲19分钟的作品，很好的体现出乐队对于Old School Death Metal的执着，一张经典的Old School Death Metal作品让更多的德国歌迷注意到了这支乐队，Hatred Inherit并不急于发行专辑，也是非常用心的去创作他们的每一首歌曲，2019年乐队的第一张同名专辑“Hatred Inherit”发行，这张专辑发行之后迅速让喜欢Old School Death Metal的歌迷欣喜不已，同时也得到更多的演出机会，2025年乐队被俄罗斯的著名厂牌Satanath Records选中发行了他们的最新专辑“Void”，这张专辑也是6年之后的最新作品，在新专辑发行之际杂志通过Satanath Records厂牌的协调与Hatred Inherit乐队取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today we’re interviewing Hatred Inherit, a veteran German band formed in 2012. This year marks the band’s 14th anniversary. Formed by members of bands such as Phobiatic and Seventh Seal Broken, it took them four years after their formation to release their first EP—a 19-minute, five-track album that perfectly captures the band’s dedication to Old School Death Metal. This classic Old School Death Metal release brought the band to the attention of many German fans. Hatred Inherit has never rushed to release albums, instead pouring their heart and soul into crafting every song. In 2019, the band released their self-titled debut album, “Hatred Inherit.” The album was met with immediate enthusiasm from fans of Old School Death Metal and opened the door to more live performance opportunities. In 2025, the band was selected by the renowned Russian label Satanath Records to release their latest album, “Void”—their first new release in six years. To mark the album’s release, the magazine coordinated with Satanath Records to contact Hatred Inherit for an exclusive interview!

V: 兄弟你好很高兴认识你，非常感谢你接受这次采访。我想这是你们乐队第一次接受中国杂志的采访。首先向所有中国乐迷问好。Hatred Inherit成立于2012年，是一支历史悠久的乐队。你们最初是如何组建这支乐队的？

Hello brother, it's nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let's say hello to all Chinese fans. Hatred Inherit was founded in 2012 and is a long-standing band with a long history. How did you form this band in the first place?

H: 你好，这其实是我们收到的第一份来自中国的采访邀请。挺酷的，我们的音乐能被全世界听到。乐队成立于2012年，由来自Phobiatic和Seventh Seal Broken等不同乐队的几位好友组建。我们都来自德国一个叫博特罗普的小村庄及周边地区，一直都在Death Metal乐队中演奏。

Nǐ hǎo, this is actually the first interview request from China. Pretty cool, that our music is being heard all over the world. We were founded in 2012 by a group of good friends from various bands like Phobiatic and Seventh Seal Broken. We all come from a small village in Germany called Bottrop and the surrounding area and have always played in death metal bands.

V: 你们乐队基本上保留了最初的阵容，但在2025年更换了贝斯手。第一任贝斯手为何离开乐队？新成员是如何加入乐队的，你们对他们的工作表现满意吗？

Your band basically maintains the original lineup, but you changed the bassist in 2025. Why did the first bassist leave the band? How did the new members join the band and are you satisfied with their work?

H: 这说法并不完全准确。在最初的阵容中，目前只有Stipe和Kai还留在乐队里。遗憾的是，这恰恰是我们面临的最大挑战。这些年来我们经历了许多变动。目前，我们正在物色两名新吉他手，届时Kai将成为乐队中唯一剩下的原始成员。在我们的第一任贝斯手因职业原因离开乐队后，一位录音室贝斯手加入了"Void"的录制工作。从一开始就很清楚，这只是一个临时解决方案。Robin是Kai多年的老朋友，两人合作音乐已有多年。我们对他所做的贡献非常满意并认为他是一位出色的贝斯手。

That's not entirely accurate. Of the original lineup, only Stipe and Kai are currently in the band. Unfortunately, this is precisely where our biggest challenge lies. We've had many changes over the years. Right now, we're looking for two new guitarists, which would make Kai the last remaining original member. After our first bassist left the band for professional reasons, a session bassist joined for the recording process of Void. It was clear from the outset that this was only a temporary solution. Robin is an old friend with whom Kai has made music for many years. We're very happy with his contribution and consider him a fantastic bassist.

V: 你们乐队的每位成员都是拥有丰富从业经验的音乐人。能否介绍一下你们的创作过程？我相信这会给更多年轻音乐人带来启发！

Each member of your band is a musician with extensive work experience. Can you introduce your creative process? I believe you will bring inspiration to more young musicians!

H: 我们的创作方式相当老派。通常是鼓手Kai与Stipe或Marc创意合作的结果。Kai会一边哼唱着鼓点灵感或者有人已经在家里写好了几个乐段。然后我们聚在排练室里，大家各抒己见；“来一段泥沼般的Morbid Angel风格”或者“我们需要更多爆击鼓点”这类话可是家常便饭，哈哈。最后，我们会调整所有部分以配合人声，Robin则负责编写贝斯。整体上必须像一台压路机一样，技术精湛、速度极快，并且充满邪恶气息。

Our songwriting is pretty much old school. Often it's the result of our drummer Kai's creative collaboration with Stipe or Marc. Kai hums along to the ideas to his drum linies, or someone has already written a few riffs at home. Then we sit together in the rehearsal room and everyone contributes their ideas; "Now a swampy Morbid Angel part" or "we need more blast beats" are pretty standard phrases, lol. In the end, we adjust everything to fit the vocals, and Robin writes his bass lines. All in one it has to feel like a steamroller, technical, fast and be properly evil.

V: 你们乐队的作品录音效果非常出色。这张专辑是在哪家录音室录制的？由哪位制作人操刀制作的？新专辑的录制工作进展顺利吗？

Your band's works have excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record your album in? Which producer made the album for you? Is the recording process of the new album progressing smoothly?

H: 我们对这张新专辑非常满意，对混音效果也十分满意。整张专辑完全由我们在吉他手Stipe Šimleša的录音室“3rd Floor Sounds”独立制作完成。遗憾的是，新专辑的录制工作尚未开始。但我们已经迫不及待想要录制新歌了。

We're very happy with the new album, and we're very pleased with the mix. We produced the album entirely ourselves at guitarist Stipe Šimleša's studio „3rd Floor Sounds“. Unfortunately, the recording process for the new album hasn't even started yet. But we can hardly wait to record new songs.

V: 你们乐队的专辑发行速度非常慢。自2019年发行首张专辑后，直到2025年才推出第二张正式专辑。进展如此缓慢的原因是什么？

Your band's album release speed is very slow. After releasing your first album in 2019, you didn't release your second official album until 2025. What is the reason for your slow progress?

H: 造成这种情况的原因有多种，其中最主要的原因是乐队成员的更迭。我们一直忙于将新成员融入乐队。有时士气有所下降，专辑的制作过程也异常漫长，歌手和贝斯手甚至离开了乐队。Kai随后将注意力集中在自己的乐队Phobiatic上，并还加入了Hounds of Damnation乐队。如今我们意识到Hatred是我们最重要的目标。由于Marc和Stipe也不再参与其中，我们将其视为一次全新的开始并期待乐队能焕发出新的活力。这将非常棒！

There are several reasons for this, the most significant being the lineup changes. We've constantly been busy integrating new people. At times, motivation waned, the album production took a fuckin`long time, and the singer and bassist left the band. Kai then focused on his band Phobiatic, and also joined Hounds of Damnation. Now we know that Hatred is our priority. With Marc and Stipe no longer on board either, we see this as a fresh start and are looking forward to a new energy in the band. This is going to be awesome!

V: 你们乐队的标志设计非常漂亮。是谁设计的？你们的专辑封面也很美。这些专辑封面又是谁设计的？

Your band's logo design is very beautiful. Who designed the logo for you? Your album artwork is also very beautiful. Who designed these album artworks for you?

H: 没错，这设计挺酷的，我们用它做了一批T恤，效果相当不错。如果你喜欢这个标志，不妨期待一下专辑"Feeding the Abyss"背面的图案，那也是由一位名叫Henry Mann的朋友绘制的。这些T恤将于五月底在 https://hatredinherit.bandcamp.com/merch 上架。新标志也是我们自己设计的，由来自“The Serpent Sun Tattoo”的朋友Kai Ski操刀。专辑封面艺术图则是我们在网上购买的。

Yes man, it`s pretty cool, we made shirts with it that look pretty good. If you like the logo, you can look forward to the backprint for the title Feeding the Abyss, which was also painted by a friend named Henry Mann. V: 你们音乐的主题是什么？为什么选择这个音乐主题，又想通过这个主题表达什么？你们还创作了歌词部分。这些歌词是谁写的，创作灵感来自哪里？

What is the theme of your music about? Why did you choose this music theme, and what do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

H: 说实话，这就是我们和上一任主唱分道扬镳的原因。当我们进入录音室时，才发现歌词还没写好。Kai和Marc不得不临时合作写了点东西。结果我们对歌词并不太满意，所以决定不把它们收录在歌词本里。我们的新主唱对此非常投入，已经对几首旧歌的歌词做了一些微调。我很期待和他合作。他也是个好朋友，我们之前就合作过音乐。正如你所见，情况只会越来越好——哈哈

To be honest, that's why we parted ways with our last singer. When we got to the studio, we realized there weren't any lyrics yet. Kai and Marc had to quickly write something together. Consequently, we weren't really happy with the lyrics and decided against including them in the booklet. Our new singer is really passionate about it and has already slightly adapted a few of the old lyrics. I'm looking forward to working with him. He's also a good friend, and we've already made music together. As you can see, things can only get better from here – lol

V: 你们与Satanath Records合作发行了一张专辑。你们是如何联系上这家厂牌进行合作的？对与该厂牌的合作是否满意？

You collaborated with Satanath Records to release an album. How did you get in touch with this label to collaborate? Are you satisfied with the job at this brand?

H: Satanath Records的各位真是好人，正如你们所见，他们在专辑发行和分销方面给了我们很大帮助。我们联系过许多厂牌，而Satanath Records是少数几个甚至回复了我们的一家。他们的报价很公道，我们至今仍对此感到非常满意。遗憾的是，他们推荐给我们的演出邀约地点都相当遥远，对我们来说并不现实。

The guys at Satanath Records are really nice dudes and, as you can see, they helped us a lot with the release and distribution. We contacted many labels, and Satanath Records was one of the few that even responded. Their offer was fair, and we're still very happy with it. Unfortunately, the gig offers which they suggest to us are correspondingly far away and not feasible for us.

V: 首先，恭喜你们乐队在2025年发行了新专辑。精彩而复杂的编曲，连贯且迅猛的Riff，让人感到非常满足。鼓手精准的击打也令人印象深刻。主唱低沉的嗓音和充满力量的咆哮也是整张专辑的亮点。你们对自己这作品有什么看法？新专辑和旧专辑之间有什么变化？

First of all, congratulations to your band for releasing a new album in 2025. The wonderful and complex arrangement, continuous and fast Riff, make people feel very satisfied. The drummer's precise hitting is also impressive. The singer's low voice and powerful roar are also the highlights of the entire album. What is your opinion on your own work? What are the changes between the new album and the old album?

H: 非常感谢。其实你已经描述得相当详细了。我们大家都对音乐充满热情，虽然这只是我们的爱好，但我们依然努力磨练技艺，不断追求进步。如今听其他乐队的作品，那些可能性简直令人难以置信。所以与首张专辑相比，我们已经有了显著的差异；我们在技术层面取得了进一步的进步。歌曲更加成熟、现代，编排也更加紧凑。经历了所有阵容变动后，我们原本希望能终于登上舞台，现场试演新歌。遗憾的是，我们现在又在物色新成员了，不过之前演出的场次反响非常热烈。事情正在顺利推进，新作品肯定会延续类似的风格，只是会更好——哈哈。

Thanks a lot. Well, you've already described quite a bit. We're all passionate about making music, and even though it's just a hobby for us, we work hard on our skills and constantly try to improve. When I listen to bands these days, it's unbelievable what else is possible. So there's already a difference compared to the first album; we have made further technical progress. The songs are more mature, more modern, and tighter. After all the lineup changes, we were hoping to finally get on stage to try out the new songs live. Unfortunately, we're already looking for a new members again, but the shows we played were a real hit. Things are rolling, and the new stuff will definitely go in a similar direction, just better - lol.

V: 作为一支优秀的乐队，你们参加过哪些音乐节？哪些音乐节给你们留下了深刻印象？能介绍一下当时的现场氛围吗？2026年你们还计划参加哪些音乐节？

As an excellent band, which music festivals have you participated in? What music festivals have left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the live atmosphere at that time? What other music festivals are you planning to participate in in 2026?

H: 天啊，我开始感到沮丧了。真的该找些和我们一样热爱音乐的人，这样我才能以积极的态度回答这类问题。该死，我们还没在任何音乐节上演出过。

Oh man, I'm starting to get depressed. It's really time for some guys who are just as passionate about music as we are so I can answer questions like this in a positiv way. Fuck man, we haven't played at any festivals yet.

V: 你们乐队在2026年有什么新计划？比如创作和录制新作品？能和大家分享一些信息吗？

What new work does your band have to do in 2026? For example, creating and recording new works? Can you share some information with everyone?

H: 我们将在五月初以现有的阵容举办最后一场演出。之后我们会物色两位新吉他手，他们需要能够自主学习旧曲目，这样我们就能尽快一起创作新歌。我们希望在今年年底前能有一套包含2-3首新歌的现场演出曲目。如果一切顺利，我们还会发行一张EP。

We're playing our last show with the current lineup at the beginning of May. After that, we'll find two new guitarists who can learn the old stuff on their own so we can write new songs togehther fast. We'd like to have a live set with 2-3 new songs by the end of the year. If everything goes well, we'll release an EP as well.
