神秘的超自然现象 - 美国Melodic Deathcore / Metalcore乐队Conjurist专访

今天要采访的是来自美国单人项目Conjurist乐队，Blake Bailey作为主唱参加过很多的项目和乐队，2024年Blake Bailey创建一个属于自己的项目于是Conjurist诞生了，2025年Conjurist乐队发布了第一首单曲并且得到热烈的反响，于是Blake Bailey决定将这支乐队继续下去，2026年乐队的第一张专辑“I Am the Earth”，一张凶狠，毒辣的作品瞬间吸引了众多歌迷的关注，而且Blake Bailey在创作方面也有自己独特的见解，他非常善于创作旋律性很强的作品，在凶狠的Deathcore当中也流露出一种“柔情”，前不久杂志与Blake Bailey取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview is with the American solo project "Conjurist" band. Blake Bailey, as the lead singer, has participated in many projects and bands. In 2024, Blake Bailey created his own project, which led to the birth of Conjurist. In 2025, Conjurist released their first single and received a warm response. Therefore, Blake Bailey decided to continue this band. The band's first album "I Am the Earth" in 2026, a fierce and vicious work, instantly attracted the attention of many fans. Blake Bailey also has his own unique insights in creation. He is very good at creating melodic works, and in the fierce Deathcore, he also reveals a Kind of 'tenderness', recently the magazine contacted Blake Bailey for an exclusive interview!

Hello Blake, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is your first time being interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let me say hello to all Chinese fans. When was Conjurist founded? How did you form this band?

B: 你好。谢谢，是的，这是我第一次接受中国杂志的采访。能让中国的金属乐迷听到我的音乐，我既兴奋又感激！这个项目始于2024年。多年来，我一直在纳什维尔地区参与过许多乐队和音乐项目，主要担任主唱，后来我决定要做一些能让我完全自由地进行音乐实验的事情。去年我发布了Conjurist的首支单曲，反响非常热烈，于是我决定继续推进这个项目。

Hello. Thank you, and yes this is my first Chinese magazine interview. Im excited and grateful to have Chinese metal fans hear my music! 2024 is when the project was started. Ive been in many bands and music projects in the Nashville area for many years mainly as a vocalist and decided I needed to do something where I had complete freedom to experiment. I released the first song for Conjurist last year and it received a lot of positive feedback so I decided to keep pursuing it.

V: 你是乐队里唯一的成员，所以在创作歌曲时拥有完全的自由。你能介绍一下你的创作过程吗？

You are the only one in the band, so you have complete freedom when creating songs. Can you introduce your creative process?

B: 我通常从吉他即兴段落开始创作，不过也有几首歌是先有了歌词、节奏或旋律的构思才开始创作的。

I usually start with guitar riffs although I have had concepts with lyrics, patterns and/or melodies I have started with for a few songs.

V: 你刚刚发行了首张正式专辑"I Am the Earth"，录音效果非常出色。这张专辑是在哪家录音室录制的？由哪位制作人操刀制作的？新专辑的录制工作进展顺利吗？

You have just released your first official album "I Am the Earth", which has excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record the album in? Which producer made the album for you? Is the recording process of the new album progressing smoothly?

B: 我从17岁起就开始自己录音，这让创作变得轻松许多，而且几乎没有限制。我可以逐轨录制所有乐器和人声，随时添加或删除内容。脑海中想象的声音在录音中并不总能完全呈现出来，所以我学会了灵活应对，除非我决心要达到某种特定效果，否则不会过于拘泥于细节。

Ive been recording myself since I was 17 so that’s made writing a lot easier and basically endless. I can do all instruments and vocals one track at a time and add or take away at any moment. What I hear in my mind does not always come out the same way on recording so I’ve learned to be flexible and not so dead set on specifics unless I’m determined to have it a certain way.

V: 你的音乐主题是什么？为什么选择这个音乐主题，又想通过它表达什么？你还创作了歌词部分，这些歌词的灵感来自哪里？

What is the theme of your music about? Why did you choose this music theme, and what do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. What inspired these lyrics?

B: Conjurist的主题涉及许多人所谓的超自然现象、神秘学和阴谋论。质疑我们对现实的认知以及对这个世界的现有理解，本质上是一种精神层面的探索，有时也带有情感色彩。我们被允许看到和感受到的，并不总是我们实际所见所感。我有时会将这些理念融入个人经历，但Conjurist的主题主要将围绕这一主题展开。

The theme of Conjurist is what a lot of people would call paranormal, occult and conspiracy theory. It’s spiritual and sometimes emotional in nature to question what we know of our reality and our current understanding of this world. What we are allowed to see and feel is not always what we see and feel. I sometimes tie these ideas into personal experiences but the theme of Conjurist will mostly be blended with this subject matter.

V: 你目前发行的这张专辑是自行发布的数字版本。你是否考虑过发行实体专辑？目前是否已与任何制造商接洽？

The album you are currently releasing is a digital version released by yourself. Have you considered releasing a physical album version? Have you been in contact with any manufacturers currently?

B: 是的，我计划在适当的时候推出这张专辑的实体版本。

Yes, I plan on having physical copies of this album available at some point.

V: 首先，恭喜你们发行了新专辑"I Am the Earth"。你们的作品深受Deathcore和Metalcore等Core风格的影响。不过，你们运用了极具感染力的旋律，使作品更具吸引力，同时也丰富了编曲层次。你如何评价自己的作品？

First of all, congratulations on the release of your new album "I Am the Earth". Your work has been deeply influenced by core styles such as deathcore and metalcore. However, you have used great melodies to make your work more appealing and enrich your arrangement. What is your opinion on your own work?

B: 这张专辑确实具备“Core”音乐的特质，未来与Conjurist的合作中应该也会延续这种风格。这个项目在音乐上的核心理念是：为了捕捉我所创作主题的情感或氛围，我会运用金属或极端音乐中任何必要的子流派。阴暗或神秘的主题可能会采用Black Metal或氛围音效，悲伤的歌曲可能会使用Doom Metal，而愤怒的主题则可能会采用Death Metal或某种Hardcore融合风格。

There’s definitely “core” qualities about this album and will probably continue to have that on future work with Conjurist. The whole idea for this project musically is to use whatever subgenres of metal or extreme music needed to capture the feeling or environment of the subject Im writing about. Darker or mysterious themes might use black metal or atmospheric sounds, sad songs may use doom and angrier subjects may use death metal or some type of hardcore blend.

V: 能否列举一些对你产生过影响、你最喜欢的乐队？

Can you list some of your favorite bands that have influenced you?

B: 对我以及这张专辑产生影响的乐队包括：Meshuggah、Converge、Fallujah、Acid Bath、Pallbearer、Alcest、Mastodon、Akhlys、At the Gates、HUM、Imperial Triumphant

Although you are a very young band, your works are mature and stable. I will always pay attention to and support your band. I also hope to attract more Chinese fans to pay attention to and support you through this interview. The interview is about to end.
