今天采访到的Vokodlok乐队成立于2000年，来自罗马尼亚。在成立一段时间之后就发行了Demo，三年后发行了首张全长专辑。不幸的是，乐队在08年的时候进入了停滞期。直到10年之后，乐队重组，并在2025年发行了第二张全长专辑《The Egregious Being》。可以说第二张专辑的制作水准相较于第一张专辑来说有了很大的提升。乐队改变了以往的传统的黑金属创作模式，并且融入了很多新的元素。听这张专辑的时候，你能够很好的沉浸在音乐中，他的每一个音符都显得无可挑剔。本次杂志联系到了乐队并做一次专访。

The Vokodlok band we interviewed today was founded in 2000 and comes from Romania. After a period of establishment, a demo was released, and three years later, the first full-length album was released. Unfortunately, the band entered a period of stagnation in 2008. Until 10 years later, the band reorganized and released their second full-length album 'The Egregious Being' in 2025. It can be said that the production level of the second album has greatly improved compared to the first album. The band has changed the traditional black metal creative mode and incorporated many new elements. When listening to this album, you can immerse yourself in the music very well, and every note of it looks impeccable. This magazine contacted the band and conducted an exclusive interview.

V: 你好Vokodlok乐队，感谢你们接受本次采访。先和中国的朋友们介绍一下自己吧，你们是什么时候成立的，又是为什么想到组建这个乐队呢？

Hello Vokodlok Band. Thank you for accepting this interview. Let me introduce myself to my Chinese friends first. When were you founded and why did you come up with the idea of forming this band?

A: VOKODLOK成立于2000年，当时我们还只是受到90年代金属场景影响的年轻人。不久之后，我们发布了我们的演示“Unsain The Wolf”，随后在2003年推出了我们的首张专辑“Mass Murder Genesis”。我们尽可能地现场表演，直到2008年。2020年，我们发布了“Oracle’s Fury”EP，随后是我们最新发布的“The Egregious Being”。

VOKODLOK was formed in 2000, when we were just youngsters influenced by the metal scene of the '90s. Shortly after, we released our demo "Unchain The Wolf," followed in 2003 by our debut album, "Mass Murder Genesis". We performed live as much as possible until 2008. In 2020, we released the "Oracle’s Fury" EP and followed by our latest release "The Egregious Being".

V: 乐队在2008-2018年间暂停了十年之久，能否问一下你们为什么中间间隔了这么长时间呢，又是什么契机让你们重新组合到一起的呢？

The band was suspended for as long as ten years from 2008 to 2018. May I ask you why there was such a long interval in between? And what was the opportunity that led you to reunite?

A: "Mass Murder Genesis"发行后，我们开始制作后续作品并继续现场演奏，直到2008年，我们的鼓手和歌手都离开了乐队。当时，很难找到合适的替代品，这迫使我们中断了十年。在此期间，我们中的一些人通过其他项目在金属领域保持活跃，但VOKODLOK的精神始终存在。继续下去的欲望从未消失。

After the release of Mass Murder Genesis, we started working on a follow-up and continued playing live until 2008, when both our drummer and vocalist left the band. At the time, it was really difficult to find suitable replacements, which forced us into a ten-year hiatus. During that period, some of us stayed active in the metal scene through other projects, but the spirit of VOKODLOK was always alive. The desire to continue was never gone.

V: 聊聊你们的新专辑吧，你们在三月份才发行这张专辑，你们是什么时候开始创作这张专辑的呢？你们又是如何创作的呢？

Let's talk about your new album. You released this album in March. When did you start creating this album? How did you create it?

A: 在"Mass Murder Genesis"之后不久，我们就开始考虑发行一张新专辑，但不幸的是，这个计划被推迟了很长时间。"Oracle’s Fury"EP最初并没有计划，它更多的是一种生命的象征，一种我们在漫长冬眠后仍然在这里的声明。随着世界的变化，我们也发生了变化——我们的思想、信仰和艺术方向都在演变，所有这些都汇聚在了"The Egregious Being"中。

We started thinking about a new album shortly after Mass Murder Genesis, but unfortunately, that plan was postponed for a long time. The "Oracle’s Fury" EP wasn’t initially planned—it was more of a sign of life, a statement that we were still here after our long hibernation. As the world changed, so did we—our thoughts, beliefs, and artistic direction evolved, and all of that came together on "The Egregious Being".

V: 你们认为新专辑的音乐和第一张专辑有什么区别吗？这十年间你们是否做了一些改变呢？

Do you think there are any differences between the music of the new album and that of the first album? Have you made any changes in these ten years?

A: 是的，有明显的差异。我们的风格从早期开始就在演变。虽然我们的Demo在"Mass Murder Genesis"中采用了中速、Raw Black Metal，但我们已经转向了更快、更复杂的声音。多年来，我们在作曲和音乐技巧方面都已经成熟，在保持音乐旋律核心完整的同时，融入了更多的Death Metal元素。

Yes, there are clear differences. Our style has evolved since the early days. While our demo featured mid-paced, raw Black Metal, on "Mass Murder Genesis", we had already moved toward a faster, more complex sound. Over the years, we’ve matured in both composition and musicianship, incorporating more Death Metal elements while keeping the melodic core of our music intact.

V: 在你们眼中你们觉得Black Metal应该是什么样的呢？你觉得你的乐队一直在坚持着做自己的音乐吗？

In your eyes, what do you think black metal should be like? Do you think your band has been insisting on making their own music all along?

A: 我们认为Black Metal应该是原始的、不妥协的、有侵略性的。对我们来说，这是关于创造真正代表我们自己的残酷音乐，而不是遵循公式或巧妙地融入一种流派。虽然我们植根于Black Metal和Death Mtal，但我们总是创作出对我们来说感觉真实的音乐，反映了我们内心和周围的黑暗和混乱。

We believe black metal should be raw, uncompromising, and aggressive. For us, it’s about creating brutal music that truly represents who we are—not about following formulas or fitting neatly into a genre. While we're rooted in both Black and Death Metal, we’ve always written music that feels real to us—reflecting the darkness and chaos we experience both within and around us.

V: 你们觉得你们有什么对你们影响很大的乐队或者是自己很喜欢的乐队吗？

Do you think there are any bands that have had a significant influence on you or that you really like?

A: 是的，当然。我们总是听金属音乐，就像我们周围的现实会留下印记一样，我们成长的音乐也是如此。我们主要听Black Metal和Death Metal。一些对我们影响很大的乐队，尤其是在早期，包括Mayhem、Immortal、Marduk、Burzum、Vader和Nile等。

Yes, of course. We’ve always listened to metal music, and just like the reality around us leaves a mark, so does the music we grow up with. We mainly listen to Black and Death Metal. Some of the bands that heavily influenced us, especially early on, include Mayhem, Immortal, Marduk, Burzum, Vader, and Nile, among others.

V: 在2025年还有什么新的安排呢？

What new arrangements are there in 2025?

A: 2025年，我们计划录制一张新的EP，这张EP可能会与一支名为Kybalion的意大利乐队分开发行。与此同时，我们正在努力重返舞台，再次现场表演。

In 2025, we’re planning to record a new EP, which might be released as a split with an Italian band called Kybalion. At the same time, we’re working on getting back on stage and performing live again.
