变态残酷的人体实验 - 葡萄牙Goregrind / Death Metal乐队MutilaTyrant专访

今天采访到的是来自葡萄牙的Goregrind / Death Metal乐队MutilaTyrant，这支乐队依旧是杂志的老朋友Melkor在2025年组建的一支新乐队，这也是Melkor为数不多的Goregrind / Death Metal乐队，残暴血腥的氛围扑面而来如同一个变态杀手在惨杀受害者，快速连续的Riff给人一种头晕目眩的感觉，这张专辑依旧使用的鼓软件编排，但是变化丰富，快速，这张专辑的录音效果非常粗糙，但是这种录音效果却很好的体现出Goregrind的效果，今年MutilaTyrant乐队也发行了第一张正式专辑“Putrefied Surgical Mass”，在新专辑发行之际杂志与乐队创始人Melkor取得联系进行了一次专访！

The band I interviewed today is MutilaTyrant, a Goregrind/Death Metal band from Portugal. This band is still a new band formed by Melkor, an old friend of the magazine, in 2025. It is also one of Melkor's few Goregrind/Death Metal bands. The brutal and bloody atmosphere is like a perverted killer killing the victim, and the rapid and continuous Riff gives people a dizzy feeling. The album still uses drum software arrangement, but the changes are rich and fast. The recording effect of this album is very rough, but this recording effect reflects the effect of Goregrind very well. This year, MutilaTyrant band also released their first album. On the occasion of the release of the official album "Putrefied Surgical Mass", the magazine contacted the band's founder Melkor for an exclusive interview!

Hello Mr. Melkor, we meet again. This time I am going to interview MutilaTyrant, the band you formed. In which year was this band formed? How did you form this band?

M: 你好，很高兴再次与你交谈。MutilaTyrant成立于2025年初，长期以来一直渴望探索我以前从未做过的事情。多年来我一直有这样的想法——创建一个完全接受残酷、血腥和手术恐怖的项目，我一直被极端金属所吸引。最终我意识到是时候停止推迟了并最终将这一愿景变为现实。

Hello, it's a pleasure to speak with you again. MutilaTyrant was formed in early 2025 out of a long-standing desire to explore something I had never done before. I had this idea in my mind for years - to create a project that fully embraced the brutality, gore, and surgical horror that I've always been drawn to in extreme metal. Eventually, I realized it was time to stop postponing it and finally bring that vision to life.

V: 这个乐队还是你自己组建的吗？这个乐队还有其他成员吗？

Is this band still formed by yourself? Are there any other members participating in this band?

M: 是的，MutilaTyrant完全是一个人的努力——只有我能处理一切。从编写和录制所有乐器，到声乐、混音、母带，甚至创作艺术品，每一个方面都是我自己完成的。这是一个完全个人的、毫不妥协的愿景，这正是我想要的。

Yes, MutilaTyrant is entirely a solo effort - it’s just me handling absolutely everything. From writing and recording all the instruments, to doing the vocals, mixing, mastering, and even creating the artwork - every single aspect is done by myself. It’s a completely personal and uncompromised vision, and that’s exactly how I want it to be.

V: 你介绍一下这张专辑的创作过程吗？

Can you introduce the creative process of this album?

M: 这张专辑的创作过程总是从吉他作曲开始的。我通常从制作即兴重复段开始，让吉他决定歌曲的氛围和强度。一旦我对吉他部件感到满意，我就会继续添加鼓。有时这会让我稍微调整吉他，以适应鼓声的节奏和节奏。之后我添加低音以加深声音并提供更多层次。然后我专注于声乐，这对将主题和侵略性带入生活至关重要。最后我加入了我自己创作的样本，以增强专辑的氛围和叙事。每一步都是一个自然的过程，允许不同的元素一起进化。这一切都是为了从头开始建立一种有凝聚力、强烈的体验。

The creative process for the album always starts with guitar composition. I usually begin by crafting the riffs, letting the guitar dictate the atmosphere and intensity of the song. Once I’m satisfied with the guitar parts, I move on to adding the drums. Sometimes, this causes me to adjust the guitar slightly to fit the rhythm and pacing of the drums. After that, I add the bass to deepen the sound and provide more layers. Then, I focus on the vocals, which are essential to bringing the theme and aggression to life. Finally, I incorporate the samples, which I also create myself, to enhance the atmosphere and narrative of the album. Each step is a natural progression, allowing the different elements to evolve together. It’s all about building a cohesive, intense experience from the ground up.

Did you create the band's logo and album artwork yourself?

M: 是的，我自己创作了乐队的Logo和专辑的艺术作品。我想保持Old School Grind美学，所以我专注于捕捉这种类型的原始、混乱的能量。图像必须反映血腥、怪物和手术元素，这些元素是MutilaTyrant概念的核心。我的目标是一些发自内心和令人不安的东西，几乎就像一个扭曲的外科手术就在你面前进行。艺术品中的每一个细节都是为了唤起音乐中同样的残酷和腐朽感——这是专辑带给听众的可怕旅程的视觉表现。

Yes, I created both the band's logo and the album artwork myself. I wanted to keep that old-school grind aesthetic, so I focused on capturing the raw, chaotic energy of the genre. The imagery had to reflect the gore, monstrosity, and surgical elements that are central to the concept of MutilaTyrant. I aimed for something visceral and unsettling, almost like a twisted surgical procedure being performed right in front of you. Each detail in the artwork is meant to evoke the same sense of brutality and decay found in the music - a visual representation of the gruesome journey the album takes the listener on.

V: 这张专辑仍由你自己的厂牌发行。你有没有考虑过发行CD版本？

This album is still being released on your own label. Have you considered releasing a CD version?

M: 是的，这张专辑是以我自己的厂牌发行的。在专辑发行时，我最初并没有考虑实体版本，但经过反思，我认为它绝对值得实体发行。一个专门的厂牌，一个专注于这种极端声音的厂牌，将是一个完美的选择。如果这张专辑获得了应有的关注，我肯定会考虑实体版，甚至会推出一张新专辑来扩展这一概念。这是我愿意接受的，取决于事情的发展。

Yes, the album is being released under my own label. At the time of the album's release, I didn’t initially think about a physical version, but after reflecting on it, I believe it definitely deserves a physical release. A specialized label, one that focuses on this kind of extreme sound, would be a perfect fit. If the album gains the attention it deserves, I would definitely consider a physical edition, or even move forward with a new album to expand on the concept. It’s something I’m open to, depending on how things evolve.

V: 你的音乐主题是什么？你为什么选择这个音乐主题，你想通过这个音乐主题表达什么？你创建了歌词部分吗？

What is the theme of your music about? Why did you choose this music theme, and what do you want to express through this music theme? Have you created the lyrics section?

M: MutilaTyrant音乐的主题围绕着怪诞的医学恐怖、腐烂和残害。这是一个深入身体和心灵最黑暗角落的概念，探索痛苦、肢解以及暴力、侵入性手术的后果。我选择这个主题是因为它是我一直被吸引的东西——衰变和转变的原始物理性质。这反映了我们不可避免的死亡，人类形态的脆弱以及我们如何面对或否认作为存在一部分的腐朽。通过这个主题，我想唤起一种发自内心的反应，让听众面对生与死的残酷和原始。这不仅仅是冲击值；这是关于突破音乐和艺术传统上可接受的界限，创造一种黑暗、激烈和具有挑战性的氛围。是的，我创作了所有的歌词。每首歌都告诉了一个身体毁灭的故事-从"Septic Scalpel Ritual"中的仪式性截肢，到"Surgical Disembowelment"和"Hemorrhagic Organ Extraction"中可怕的外科手术。歌词以生动、近乎电影般的细节探索了这些怪诞的场景，旨在创造一种既令人不安又身临其境的体验。每一条轨迹都是人类痛苦和衰败的不同方面，意味着这是一次穿越怪诞的激烈而压倒性的旅程。

The theme of MutilaTyrant’s music revolves around grotesque medical horror, decay, and mutilation. It’s a concept that delves into the darkest corners of the body and mind, exploring themes of suffering, dismemberment, and the aftermath of violent, invasive procedures. I chose this theme because it’s something I’ve always been drawn to - the raw, physical nature of decay and transformation. It’s a reflection of our inevitable mortality, the fragility of the human form, and how we confront or deny the decay that is part of existence.

Through this theme, I want to evoke a visceral reaction, making listeners face the brutality and rawness of life and death. It’s not just about shock value; it’s about pushing the boundaries of what is traditionally acceptable in music and art, and creating an atmosphere that’s dark, intense, and challenging. Yes, I created all the lyrics. Each song tells a story of bodily destruction - from the ritualistic amputation in "Septic Scalpel Ritual," to the horrific surgical procedures in "Surgical Disembowelment" and "Hemorrhagic Organ Extraction." The lyrics explore these grotesque scenarios with vivid, almost cinematic detail, aiming to create an experience that is both unsettling and deeply immersive. Each track is a different facet of human suffering and decay, meant to be an intense, overwhelming journey through the grotesque.

V: 这张专辑是你在自己的录音室录制的吗？录音过程进展顺利吗？

Did you record this album in your own studio? Is the recording process progressing smoothly?

M: 是的，这张专辑是在我自己的工作室Studios13录制的。录制过程尽可能顺利，尽管有一些地方我花了更多的时间来完善。最大的挑战是为吉他找到合适的声音，尤其是失真的低音。对我来说，捕捉那种原始的、咄咄逼人的语气很重要，但需要一些实验才能做到恰到好处。我也花了很多时间在混音和母带制作上，尤其是因为这些曲目节奏很快。如果它们没有正确混合，所有的细节都会丢失，音乐的强度也不会很明显。对我来说，作为一名专业制作人，我对结果很满意，至少从我自己的角度来看是这样。当然总有改进的空间，但总的来说，我认为最终的产品反映了我想通过声音传达的信息。

Yes, the album was recorded in my own studio, Studios13. The recording process went as smoothly as possible, though there were a few areas where I spent a bit more time refining things. The biggest challenge was getting the right sound for the guitars, especially the distorted bass. It was important for me to capture that raw, aggressive tone, but it took some experimentation to get it just right. I also spent quite a bit of time on the mixing and mastering, particularly because the tracks are so fast-paced. If they’re not mixed properly, all the detail can get lost, and the intensity of the music won’t come through clearly. For me, not being a professional producer, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, at least from my own perspective. Of course, there’s always room for improvement, but overall, I think the final product reflects what I wanted to convey sonically.

First of all, congratulations on the release of your new album this year. The fast and complex arrangement gives a very cruel and bloody feeling. Your singing is sticky and fierce, and the drums still use the same drum software, but the changes are complex and very close to real drums. What is your opinion on your work?

M: 非常感谢你的好话！我对这张专辑的结果感到非常满意，很高兴听到快速、复杂的编排和整体氛围符合我的预期。创造那种残酷血腥的感觉绝对是我们的目标，我很高兴它能引起听众的共鸣。至于我的歌唱，我想让自己尝试一种更喉音的声乐风格，一种比我通常做的更深沉、更激进的风格。这对我来说是一个很大的挑战，因为在整张专辑中需要更多的控制和努力来保持这种原始的强度。有时我不确定自己是否能把声音发挥到极限，但最终，我对结果感到满意。它增加了一层与音乐主题相匹配的残酷。关于鼓，我对鼓软件的结果很满意。我一直在调整模式和动态，让它们感觉更自然，更接近真实的鼓，但这仍然是我一直在努力改进的东西。鼓部件的复杂性确实有助于突出曲目的混乱和强度，我认为它很好地补充了专辑的整体氛围。

Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m really pleased with how the album turned out, and it’s great to hear that the fast, complex arrangements and the overall atmosphere come across the way I intended. Creating that cruel and bloody feeling was definitely the goal, and I’m glad it’s resonating with listeners As for my singing, I wanted to push myself to experiment with a more guttural vocal style, something deeper and more aggressive than what I usually do. It was a big challenge for me, as it required a lot more control and effort to maintain that raw intensity throughout the album. There were moments where I wasn’t sure if I could push my voice to the limit, but in the end, I’m happy with the result. It adds an extra layer of brutality that matches the theme of the music. Regarding the drums, I’m pleased with how the drum software turned out. I’ve worked on tweaking the patterns and dynamics to make them feel more organic and closer to real drums, but it’s still something I’m always trying to refine. The complexity of the drum parts really helps to accentuate the chaos and intensity of the tracks, and I think it complements the overall vibe of the album well. Overall, I’m proud of the work, but I’m always striving to improve with each release.
