今天我们要采访的是一支来自加拿大的单人old school Goregrind乐Regurgitasi。Regurgitasi成立于2021年9月，至今已有三年。在整个 Split 专辑中，它发行了许多个人作品和与其他乐队的合作作品。简单的编曲既残酷又Sick，鼓采用的是电子鼓，歌手采用了各种Sick的唱腔，让这支乐队的作品更加的Sick，如果你喜欢Last Days Of Humanity，Regurgitate这类乐队同时喜欢Slam的歌迷请留意这支乐队，相信你会对这支乐队非常感兴趣，在前不久我也与Regurgitasi乐队进行了一次采访！

Today we're interviewing Regurgitasi, a one-man old school Goregrind band from Canada that was formed in September 2021, three years ago. Throughout the Split album, it has released many solo works and collaborations with other bands. The simple arrangements are both brutal and Sick, the drums are electronic, and the singer employs a variety of Sick vocals to make this band's work even more Sick, so if you're a fan of bands like Last Days Of Humanity, Regurgitate and also Slam keep an eye out for this band, I'm sure you'll be very interested in this one, and on I also did an interview with Regurgitasi a while back!

V: 你好兄弟很高兴认识你，非常感谢你参加这次采访，我想这是你第一次接受中国杂志的采访，首先我想向中国粉丝问好，Regurgitasi乐队是在哪一年成立的？你是怎么想出这个乐队的主意的，Regurgitasi这个名字的含义是什么？

Hello brother nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview, I think this is the first time you have been interviewed by a Chinese magazine, first of all I would like to say hello to the Chinese fans, Regurgitasi band was formed in what year? How did you come up with the idea for the band and what is the meaning of the name Regurgitasi?

Z: 嘿兄弟，最近怎么样？谢谢你给我这个机会，这是我第一次接受中国杂志的采访。 Regurgitasi成立于2021年9月。当时我听了很多slamming brutal death乐队，这给了我灵感，让我开始了一个新项目，用低沉的声音。一开始我有一些death metal歌曲，与我的其他项目不相符。我当时患有胃部不适和反流，所以Regurgitasi这个名字很合适。

Hey bro, How's it going? Thank you for the opportunity, that's the first time been interviewed by a chinese mag. Regurgitasi was fouded in September, 2021. I was listening a lot of slamming brutal death bands that time and it brougth me inspiration for starting a new project, with low vocals. At the beginning I had a few death metal songs that didn't match my other projects. I was suffering from stomach irritation and reflux, so the name Regurgitasi was a good fit.

You're the only one in the band, so you get to do exactly what you want when it comes to songwriting, can you describe the creative process? Your album recordings are great, what studio did you record the album in? Which producer produced your album?

It works like a trigger, sometimes the inspiration comes from music, horror movies, unfinished riffs... artwork. Everything starts with guitars, then drums, building the structures. Some other releases I started with drums because I already had all the structures in my mind. Many songs were accidents, I was sitting behind the computer listening to the drum tracks when a guitar riff came into my hand. In the early releases I was making the whole set of drums, then guitars, bass, vocals... everything was experimental. The process is more organized nowadays. In the last releases I did track after track, only vocals were made later. I record and produce at Gore Factory, my home studio.

V: 你的音乐主题是什么？为什么选择这样的音乐主题？你想通过这样的音乐主题表达什么？歌词部分是你创作的吗？歌词的灵感来自什么？

What is your musical theme about? Why did you choose such a musical theme and what do you want to express through such a musical theme? Did you compose the lyrics part? What inspired the lyrics?

Z: 主题是恐怖、死亡、疾病、血腥、病理、无知和荒谬。选择主题还取决于EP的意图，是完整版、Spilt版还是合辑版。我认为转变成另一种风格以达到很好的匹配效果没有问题。由于我经常在子流派上徘徊，所以这很有趣，而且最后还是会让人回味。歌词的灵感和即兴重复的灵感是一样的。为什么是goregrind？我发现玩goregrind很自由，因为它使你能够创作音乐而不必遵循既定的标准。

The themes are horror, death, diseases, gore, pathology, ignorance and non-sense. Choosing themes also depends on the intention of the EP, Full lengh, split or compilation. I see no problem morphing into another style to make a good match. Since I drifted a lot on subgenres is quite fun and it still Regurgitasi at the end. The lyrics are inspired by the same thing that the riffs are inspired. Why goregrind? I found freedom playing goregrind because it enables you to create music without conforming to established standards.

V: 你们乐队的logo设计独特，谁给你们设计的logo？你们专辑的封面设计也独特，谁给你们设计的封面？

Your band's logo is uniquely designed, who designed this logo for you?Your album artwork is also uniquely designed, who designed this artwork for you?

Z: 谢谢！我自己设计了logo和艺术作品。有趣的是，我在创作我们早期发行的歌曲之前就创作了艺术作品。通常我从头开始，手动工作，然后以数字方式整合纹理、logo和文字。我的一些灵感来自我的朋友Jhonny Noise的艺术作品。

Thank you! I designed the logo and artwork myself. It's funny I created the artwork even before composing the songs for our early releases. Typically, I begin from scratch, working manually, and then incorporate textures, logos, and lettering digitally. Some of my inspiration came from my friend Jhonny Noise artwork.

V: 您发布了很多作品，您有没有在CD、磁带或其他实体上发布过这些作品？

You've released a lot of work, and have you released any of this work on CDs, tapes, or other entities?

Z: Regurgitasi发布了几盘我自己制作的磁带，完全是DIY材料。我一直在寻找唱片公司来发布和分发我的音乐。

Regurgitasi released few cassettes which I make myself, totally DIY material. I'm always looking for labels to release and distribute my music.

First of all, congratulations on the new work you just released, I am very impressed with your work, a mix of slam brutal death metal and old grindcore, sticky, sick tones, although your drums are software programmed, they are very close to the real drums, and your vocals are processed, similar to that of a pumping toilet, what do you think of your work?

Z: 很高兴听到你这么说，你耳朵真灵！澄清一下，鼓不是编程的；我用我的电子鼓套件演奏。虽然你可能会注意到不同版本中预设略有变化，但整体混音保持不变。前18个版本中所有人声都很自然；只添加了混响。在"15 Ways Of Heavy Noisecore"之后，我决定听起来更像原始的goregrind/mince并加入了音调变换器。讨论我自己的音乐有点困难，但我注意到多年来我们在概念、适应性、可玩性和混音技巧方面都有了显著的进步。我也想对所有支持我的乐队和唱片公司表示感谢，这促使我不断进步。

It's great to hear that, you have a good ear! Just to clarify, the drums are not programmed; I play them on my e-drum kit. While you might notice slight changes in presets across releases, the overall mixdown remains the same. All vocals are natural on the first 18 releases; only reverb was added. After '15 Ways Of Heavy Noisecore,' I decided sounding more like raw goregrind/mince, incorporating a pitch shifter. It's a bit challenging to discuss my own music, but I notice we've improved significantly over the years in terms of concept, adaptation, playability, and mixing skills. I also want to express my gratitude to all the bands and labels that have supported, it pushes me to continuum improvement.

V: 你去过现场表演吗？哪些现场表演给你留下了深刻的印象？你能描述一下现场的氛围吗？

Have you ever been to a live show and what live shows have impressed you and can you describe the atmosphere?

Z: 我计划和Regurgitasi一起现场表演，就像Bombsack那样，但这需要付出很多努力，所以我在拖延。我可以提到几年前的Archagatus，当时房子挤满了人，非常有活力。气氛很好，非常尊重的环境，男孩和女孩都喜欢mosh。在观众取消了"kung-fu sXe” mosh之后，情况就更加无害了！也许这场演出是分开水域让我更加投入mince。

I have plans to play live with Regurgitasi, like Bombsack does, but it's going to take a lot of effort, so I'm procrastinating. I can mention Archagatus years ago, the house was packed, very energectic. The atmosphere was great, very respectful environment , boys and girls enjoying the mosh. And it was even more harmless after the audience canceled the “kung-fu sXe” mosh! Maybe this show was the parting of the waters to make me get more into mince.

V: 2024年你有哪些新计划，比如写作、录制新歌或现场表演，能透露一些信息吗？

What are some of those new things you have coming up in 2024, like writing, recording some new songs or playing some live shows, can you reveal some information to people?

Z: 未来的计划包括发布大量作品，同时避免被我的创作过程所奴役。这听起来可能很奇怪，但我有大量未完成的项目并且不断创作新音乐而没有完成旧音乐。我想借此机会向那些等待我的消息、艺术品、布局、歌曲、采访等的人道歉。我知道延迟，所以请耐心等待，我正在尽我所能。此外，Regurgitasi将很快推出新商品，如T恤、连帽衫、贴纸和别针。我们还考虑在今年年底前发行7英寸或10英寸的唱片，旧唱片也可能以磁带的形式发行。另一个计划是重新制作已经发行的旧材料。

Future plans include releasing a substantial volume of work while avoiding becoming enslaved by my creative process. It may sound weird, but I have a large number of unfinished projects and am constantly generating new music without completing the older ones. I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to those waiting for my messages, artwork, layouts, songs, interviews, and more. I'm aware of the delay, so please bear with me, I'm doing my best. In addition, Regurgitasi will soon introduce new merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, stickers, and pins. We're also considering releasing lathe cut 7 or 10" records by the end of this year, and old releases possibly coming out on cassette as well. Another plan is redo the old material alredy released.

V: Regurgitasi是一支非常年轻但非常有前途的乐队，希望这次采访能让更多粉丝了解和关注你们，最后有什么想对中国粉丝说的吗？

Regurgitasi is a very young band but a very promising one, I hope this interview will let more fans know and pay attention to you, do you have anything you would like to say to your Chinese fans in the end?

It's been 3 years and Regurgitasi still a baby, I'm happy to see the progress this project has made so far. The way we sound today is the outcome of unresting experimentalism, that's our sound identity.
