今天采访到的是来自美国的Doom / Post-Metal乐队Jake Worden，由Jake Worden一个人组建，乐队的名字也是由他本人的名字命名，准确的说Jake Worden是以艺人的身份创建的这支乐队，成立不久之后乐队便发行了第一张正式专辑“Born into Black”，这张专辑发行之后便得到广泛的好评，整张专辑优美的旋律线贯穿，独特的气质，Doom元素中那种痛苦、悲伤的氛围，更是让人印象深刻。也是2026年新年开始的最具特色的专辑作品，在新专辑发行之际杂志乐队的创始人Jake Worden取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview features Jake Worden, the American doom/post-metal artist. Operating as a one-man band, the project bears his name—Jake Worden. More accurately, he established this band under his own moniker. Shortly after its inception, the band released its debut full-length album, “Born into Black,” which garnered widespread critical acclaim. The album features beautiful melodies throughout, a unique aesthetic, and a painfully sorrowful atmosphere within its doom elements that leaves a lasting impression. It stands as one of the most distinctive albums released at the start of 2026. As the new album drops, the magazine reached out to the band's founder, Jake Worden, for an exclusive interview!

V: Jake你好，很高兴见到你，非常感谢你接受这次采访。我想这是你首次接受中国杂志的专访。首先请允许我向所有中国乐迷和朋友问好。请问乐队是如何组建的？为何用你自己的名字作为乐队名称？

Hello Jake, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is your first time being interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let me say hello to all Chinese fans and friends. How did you form this band? Why use your own name to define the band name?

J: 你好，很高兴见到你。非常感谢你联系我。这不仅是我第一次接受中国杂志的采访，也是我人生中第一次接受采访。目前我是一名独立音乐人，遗憾的是暂时没有乐队。我决定使用本名，因为这些音乐承载着我的痛苦、悲伤、喜悦、恐惧、孤独、勇气以及我感受到的被妖魔化与误解。

Hello and nice to meet you too. Thank you so much for reaching out to me. This is not only my first time being interviewed by a Chinese magazine. But this is my first time being interviewed. Currently, I am a solo artist and unfortunately for now there is no band. I decided to use my own name because the music is about my pain, sorrow, happiness, fear, loneliness, bravery and how much I feel demonized and misunderstood by others.

V: 作为乐队唯一的成员，你可以完全按照自己的想法创作歌曲。能否介绍一下你的创作过程？

You are the only one in the band, so you can create songs according to your own ideas. Can you introduce your creative process?

J: 创作音乐或歌词之初，我常会哼唱或自言自语。当歌曲的初步构思或情感雏形形成后，我会先记录歌词，或用手机录下哼唱的片段。后续重听时，要么舍弃录音，要么尝试将其转化为吉他或交响乐版本。

When I first begin to write the music or lyrics, I actually hum or sing to myself a lot of the time. Once I have a rough idea or emotion behind a song I usually will write down the lyrics or record myself humming or singing on my phone. I will later revisit and either decide to scrap the recording or try to translate it to my guitar or symphony.

V: 你发行的专辑录音效果极佳。是在哪家录音室完成录制的？由哪位制作人操刀？录制过程中遇到哪些困难？

The album you released has excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record the album in? Which producer made the album for you? What difficulties did you encounter during the recording process?

J: 这张专辑是在我老家美国的Sonic Landscapes录音棚录制的，由Jimmy Shellberg担任制作人。录制过程中其实没遇到太多困难。我带着在家录制的Demo找到Jimmy，准备接受专业录音室的打磨。坦白说初次演唱确实艰难——试图将脑海中的声音呈现给他人聆听。我只知道必须全力以赴，而至今在演唱时我依然秉持这份信念。

The studio where I recorded the album is Sonic Landscapes here in the states where I am from. It was produced by Jimmy Shellberg. There weren't really too many difficulties when it came to the record. I came to Jimmy with my demos that I recorded at home, ready to be given the professional studio treatment. I will admit that for me it was hard singing for the first time. Trying to get what I heard in my head out for others to hear. All I knew was I had to try my best and I still do,when it comes to singing.

V: 你的音乐主题是什么？为何选择这个主题？又想通过它表达什么？你同时创作了歌词部分，这些歌词的灵感来源是什么？

What is the theme of your music about? Why did you choose this music theme, and what do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. What was the inspiration for these lyrics?

J: 我认为不同歌曲存在多重主题。对我而言，Doom Metal的核心在于直面、处理并表达内心的感受与情绪。我最想通过音乐传达的是：拥有这些负面情绪是正常的。可以谈论它们——对我而言就是唱出来。关于歌词，我希望人们能产生共鸣并哼唱这些歌曲，让他们知道自己的想法和感受并非孤立存在。许多灵感源于我个人生活中与家庭、过往感情、朋友以及当下处境的挣扎。

I would say that there are multiple themes depending on the song. For me with doom metal, it's about facing,dealing and expressing your feelings or emotions. The most important thing that I want to express through my music is that it's ok to have these negative feelings or emotions. To talk about or in my case sing about. When it comes to the lyrics, I hope people will relate and sing some of these songs, letting them know that they are not alone in the way they may think or feel. A lot of the inspiration comes from my own personal life struggles with family, past relationships, friends, and current life situation.

V: 目前你的作品仅以数字形式发行，是否考虑过推出实体专辑？

Your work has only been released in digital format so far. Have you considered releasing a physical album?

J: 是的，我确实考虑过发行实体专辑。甚至还研究过推出特别版黑胶唱片。但这类制作成本实在高昂。尤其要让实体专辑真正传到听众手中更难。虽然我非常渴望有天能发行实体作品，但目前经济条件尚不允许。

Yes, I have looked into wanting to do a physical album. I have even looked into doing a special Vinyl release as well. But, it is very expensive when it comes to doing something like that. Especially trying to get the physical album in the hands of others to enjoy. I would absolutely love to have a physical release one day, but currently and financially it isn't possible.

V: 你的Logo设计非常精美。是谁为你设计的这个Logo？你的专辑封面本应使用你自己的头像。是谁为你设计的这张封面？

Your logo design is very beautiful. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork should have used your own avatar. Who designed this artwork for you?

J: 谢谢！专辑封面设计、后期制作和摄影都是我亲力亲为。

Thank you! I designed the cover, edited, and took the photo myself for the album.

V: 你的作品荒凉而悲怆，旋律优美且充满强烈的末日感，极大提升了听觉体验。清澈透亮的嗓音也令我印象深刻。你如何评价自己的作品？

Your work is desolate, sad, with beautiful melodies and a strong sense of Doom, greatly enhancing the listening experience of your work. The clean and clear voice also left a deep impression on me. What is your opinion on your own work?

J: 目前来说，我觉得还行。说实话，有些歌曲在演唱方面我并不满意。创作首张专辑不仅是学习过程，更让我意识到创作能力尚需提升。八首曲目中我仅认可其中三首。但更重要的是，得知自己的作品能触动听众、引发真实共鸣，这份认可感让我倍感欣慰。我讨厌某首歌，并不代表别人不能爱上我的创作。

Currently, I think it is just ok. I honestly don't like some of my songs when it comes to the vocal aspect of it. Not only was this a learning experience for me creating my first album. But, it let me know that my writing needs to improve a little bit more. I think out of the eight tracks I like three of them. More importantly though, It makes me more happy to know that I can make an impression on people, and that they are valid in the way that they feel when they listen to my work. And just because I don't like a song, doesn't mean that someone else can't love what I create.

V: 你是否参加过现场演出？哪些现场演出给你留下深刻印象？能否描述当时的氛围？2026年你有何新的演出计划？

Have you ever participated in live performances? What live performances left a deep impression on you, and can you introduce the atmosphere at that time? What new performance plans do you have for 2026?

J: 我曾担任过几支乐队的舞台工作人员。参加演唱会或现场演出时，我从未真正融入人群之中，始终渴望成为舞台上的表演者。能在2026年举办现场演出并开启环球巡演，将是我梦想成真的时刻。但目前我没有可以同行的乐队，非常希望能找到愿意演绎我音乐的伙伴。

I used to be a stagehand for some bands. When going to concerts or live performances, I never really got into too much of being in the crowd. I always wanted to be the one on stage. Playing live in 2026 and doing a world tour traveling would be a dream come true. But, currently I don't have a band to travel with and would love to find people willing to play my music.

V: 2026年是否有新作品计划？例如创作或录制新歌时，能否透露些信息？

Do you have any new work to do in 2026? For example, when creating or recording new songs, can you share some information with everyone?

J: 是的，我正计划制作新专辑。目前对新作品已有零星构思，但资金问题始终是关键哈哈。若今年无法实现，明年或许能筹措资金进录音室完成录制。

Yes, I am wanting to do a new album. Currently, I have some ideas here and there about the new record. But as always, it comes down to money lol. But if not this year, we will see if maybe next year I can afford to hit the studio and record a new album.

V: 你是支非常年轻的乐队，我将始终关注并支持你们。也希望通过这次访谈吸引更多中国乐迷关注支持你们。访谈结束之际，你们想对中国的乐迷说些什么吗？

You are a very young band, and I will always pay attention to and support you. I also hope to attract more Chinese fans to pay attention to and support you through this interview. Do you have anything to say to Chinese fans at the end of the interview?

J: 非常感谢！我只想说，拥有乐迷让我深感震撼与感激，这份心意难以言表。希望有朝一日能举办巡演，尤其渴望在中国演出，让需要我音乐的人们更深入地了解我。希望每位读者都能更深入地了解我和我的音乐。我的作品遍布各大流媒体平台及YouTube频道。同时要特别感谢您和Globmetal Promotions给予这次访谈机会，更要向所有中国乐迷致意。敬请期待！期待有天能与各位相见，共同沉浸于Doom Metal的壮美世界！
