今天采访到的是来自意大利的Gothic/Melodic Death Metal乐队The Burning Dogma，组建与2006年的The Burning Dogma乐队有一群朋友组建，一开始主要以翻唱Moonspell、Type 0 Negative等乐队的作品，但是在组建不久之后乐队宣布解散乐队，直到2008年才重新组建乐队，2010年发行了第一张现场录音专辑，2012年的EP让乐队得到了更多的知名度，2016年乐队在Sliptrick Records厂牌发行了第一张正式专辑，优美，阴郁的旋律，令人陶醉的歌声，让他们得到了更多音乐节的邀请，2025年乐队发行了第二张正式专辑“Over and Over One After the Other”，在新专辑发行之际，乐队吉他手Maurizio取得联系进行了一次专访！

The band I interviewed today is The Burning Dogma, a Gothic/Melodic Death Metal band from Italy. They were formed with a group of friends from The Burning Dogma in 2006. At first, they mainly covered the works of bands such as Moonspeak and Type 0 Negative. However, shortly after their formation, the band announced their disbandment and did not regroup until 2008. They released their first live recording album in 2010 and gained more popularity with their EP in 2012. In 2016, the band released their first official album on Sliptrick Records with beautiful, melancholic melodies and enchanting vocals, which earned them more invitations to music festivals. In 2025, the band released their second album. On the occasion of the release of their official album "Over and Over One After the Other", the band's guitarist Maurizio I got in touch for an exclusive interview!

Hello Maurizio Cremonini, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let's say hello to all Chinese fans. The Burning Dogma band was founded in 2006 and is a long-standing band. How did you form this band in the first place?

M: 嗨，火山杂志，很荣幸在我们的职业生涯中第一次被一位中国法师主持！！太酷了！！现在回到你的问题：好吧，老实说，从一开始到2008年，乐队是由一群朋友创建的，他们试图找到一条个人音乐之路，从Moonspell、Type 0 Negative等伟大的表演中汲取灵感并翻唱。

Hi Volcano Magazine, it's such a great honor to be hosted by a Chinese Mag for the first time in our career!! It's damn cool!! Getting back to your question now: well, honestly in the very beginning till 2008, the band was created by a bunch of friends trying to find a personal music path taking inspiration and doing covers from great acts as Moonspell, Type 0 Negative among the others.

V: 为什么第一代成员现在只剩下你一个人，其他成员都被替换了？新成员是怎么加入乐队的？你对新成员的工作满意吗？

Why did the first generation member leave the band now that you are the only one left and all the other members have been replaced? How did the new members join the band? Are you satisfied with the new member's job?

M: 你知道，随着事情的严重化，一些最初的乐队成员出于几个不同的原因决定辞职，即家庭时间、工作等等。我必须承认，在考虑他们的音乐技能之前，我真的很难找到合适的人。但根据实际的阵容，我可以很容易地说，我们有很棒的家伙用他们的装备做了很棒的事情。他们是怎么进入球队的？好吧，Dogma的名字已经挂了很长时间了，我们做了很多演出，所以我们在意大利地下很有名。所以当我邀请他们加入时，他们很乐意。

You know, as things goes serious some of the original band mates decided to quit for several different reasons, i.e. family time, job and so on. i must admit that I've really struggled to find out the right people before taking in account their musical technical skills. But with the actual line up i can easily state that we got great guys doing great thing with their gears. How they got in the team? well, Dogma's name is hanging out since a lot of time and we did lots of gigs so we are pretty renowned in the Italian underground. So when I've asked them to join they were happy to.

V: 你们所有的成员都是具有丰富创作经验的音乐家。你能接受你的创作经验吗？你刚刚发行了一张新专辑，新专辑的制作过程顺利吗？

All of your members are musicians with rich creative experience. Can you accept your creative experience， Have you just released a new album? Is the process of creating the new album going smoothly?

M: Dogma的最后一张专辑"Over and Over One After the Other"已于2025年6月26日发行，它完全反映了我们为实现最终艺术愿景所做的创造性努力。所有实际成员都参与了创作过程和排练，即使“根”动力总是来自我的个人划痕和原始即兴重复段作品。当然，如果你试图处理原创性和可听性，那么创建一张全新的专辑就不那么容易了。这需要花费大量的时间和精力。

Well, Dogma' last album 'Over and Over One After the Other' has been released in June 26th 2025 and it's a complete reflection of our creative efforts to reach our final artistic vision. All actual members were involved in the creative process and rehearsals even if the "root" drive always came from my personal scratches and primordial riff compositions. Of course ain't so easy to create a brand new album if you try to deal up with originality and listenability. it take a lot of time and efforts.

V: 你的每一张专辑都有很好的录音效果。你在哪个录音室录制了这张专辑？哪位制作人为你制作了这张专辑？新专辑的录制过程进展顺利吗？

Each of your albums has excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record the album in? Which producer made the album for you? Is the recording process of the new album progressing smoothly?

M: 非常感谢！！Dogma一直专注于提供更好的音频质量：对我们来说，通过全谱的音乐共鸣为听众提供完整的情感范围非常重要。与过去以及我们上一部作品一样，我们与非常著名的统治工作室、恐惧工作室、双重工作室合作。我们有幸与Simone Mularoni、Simone Bertozzi、Gabriele Ravaglia、Giuseppe Bassi等杰出的音响工程师合作。

Thanks a lot!! Dogma has been always focused to deliver the better audio quality available: it's very important for us to provide to the listeners a full emotional range by a whole spectrum of musical resonances. As in the past as well as with our last work, we collaborate with very well known Domination Studio, Fear Studio, Dualized Studio. We had the great chance to work along with such great sound engineers as Simone Mularoni, Simone Bertozzi, Gabriele Ravaglia, Giuseppe Bassi.

V: 你的Logo似乎每个时代不同，你最新的Logo设计非常漂亮。谁为你设计了这些Logo？你的专辑封面设计也很漂亮。谁为你设计的艺术品？

Your logo seems to be different from time to time, and your latest logo design is very beautiful. Who designed these logos for you? Your album art design is also very beautiful. Who designed the artwork for you?

M: 再次感谢你的话和赞美。老实说，我们一直在考虑音乐概念和作品带来的情绪来调整我们的Logo。音乐和艺术品之间的连贯性。我们很荣幸能与3MMI Design的Pierre或BrainDamage Design的Adam Owhly等伟大艺术家合作。我们提供了概念性的想法，它们非常棒，可以写在纸上。

Once again thanks a lot for your words and compliments. Honestly we always thought to adapt our logo taking in account musical concept and which kind of mood does the work brings on. Coherence in between music and artwork. We had the great honor to work along great artist as Pierre from 3MMI Design or Adam Owhly from BrainDamage Design. We provided the conceptual ideas and they were so great to put it down on papers.

V: 生与死、左翼的社会和政治主题是你的音乐主题。你为什么选择这样的音乐主题？你想通过这些音乐主题表达什么？你还创建了歌词部分。谁创作了这些歌词，是什么启发了他们？

Life and death, social and political themes of the left are your music themes. Why did you choose such music themes? What do you want to express through such music themes? You also created the lyrics section. Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

M: 生活和我们周围的事物是我们歌词的主要灵感来源：我们总是努力不陷入古典金属的陈词滥调，因为这不符合我们的概念愿景和音乐使命。关于大规模屠杀和其他死亡金属愚蠢的讨论已经够多了。我们在主题上的方法更接近于扮演Gojira，即使我们的最终目标是对人类思想和情感的内省。

Life and what surround us are the main inspirations for our lyrics: we always tryout to not fall in classical metal cliche 'cause ain't complains with to our conceptual vision and musical mission. There's enough out there talking about mass slaying and other death metal stupidity. Our approach on themes is way closer to act as Gojira even if our final object is the introspection on human mind and feelings.

V: 你的专辑发行速度不是很快。你在2010年发行了第一张现场录音专辑，在2016年发行了你的第一张官方专辑，在2020年发行了EP，在2025年发行了第二张官方专辑。是什么让你们如此缓慢地发行专辑？

The speed of your release and formation is not very fast. You only released your first live recording album in 2010, your first official album in 2016, your EP in 2020, and your second official album in 2025. What makes you willing to release albums so slowly?

M: 不幸的是，这不是我们想要的。新冠肺炎疫情也在这方面发挥了重要作用。"Over and Over"中的大部分歌曲都是在病毒迫使我们停止一切时创作的。因此，在未来我们希望比过去十年更快。

Unfortunately it's not something that we desired. Covid pandemic outbreak has also been a great player on this. Most of the songs contained in 'Over and Over' were already composed as the virus forced us to stop everything. So in the next future we hope to be faster than in the last decade.

V: 你的大部分作品都是自己出版的，你为什么选择出版自己的作品？你是如何与Sliptrick Records联系，合作制作你的第一张官方专辑的？你对这个厂牌的工作满意吗？你选择在哪个厂牌发行你的新专辑？

Most of your works are self published, why do you choose to publish your own works? How did you get in touch with Sliptrick Records to collaborate on your first official album? Are you satisfied with the job at this brand? Which label did you choose to release your new album on?

M: 老实说，我不想谈太多关于Sliptrick Rec的事。即使我们从未有过大的争吵，我们也不满意。所以我们决定自己出版，直到现在：我们对音乐和销售有了更多的控制权。让我们看看这是不是正确的方法。谁知道呢。..

Honestly I don't wanna talk too much about Sliptrick Rec. We weren't satisfied even if we never had any big fight. So we decide to publish on our own till now: we got more control on our music and sells. Let's see if this is the right way..who knows...

V: 首先，祝贺你们乐队今年发行了最新专辑。你的作品在旋律、复杂的编排、连续的即兴重复段和精确的鼓手打击方面非常有吸引力，这也是整张专辑最大的亮点。这位歌手深沉而激烈的歌声也很令人兴奋，但我还没有感受到任何哥特式的金属元素。你对你的工作有什么看法？新专辑和旧专辑之间有什么变化吗？

First of all, congratulations to your band for releasing their latest album this year. Your work is very attractive in terms of melody, complex arrangement, continuous riff, and precise drummer strikes, which are also the biggest highlights of the entire album. The singer's deep and fierce singing is also very exciting, but I haven't felt any more Gothic metal elements. What is your opinion on your work? Is there any change between the new album and the old one?

M: 听到如此美妙的话语和赞赏真是太好了！谢谢！！'Over and Over...'是向Death Metal和Electro Goth/Dark元素的复杂混合物迈进的又一步。它还包含一首名为'New Age Dawn'的歌曲，这首歌可以被认为是一首Modern Gothic Metal歌曲，由Debora Ceneri带来了出色的女声表演，其节奏槽让人想起Theatre of Tragedy。

It's great to hear such beautiful words and appreciations! Thanks a lot!! 'Over and Over...' is another steps forward to reach out a complex blends of death metal and Electro Goth/Dark Wave elements. It also contains a song called 'New Age Dawn' that could be considered as a modern Gothic metal song featuring great female vocals performance brought by Debora Ceneri and rhythm groove that could recall act as Theatre of Tragedy.

V: 作为一个老乐队，你参加过许多音乐节。哪些音乐节给你留下了深刻的印象？你能介绍一下当时的现场气氛吗？2025年还有其他音乐节邀请你参加吗？2010年的现场录音专辑是在你参加的哪个音乐节录制吗？

As an old band, you have participated in many music festivals. Which music festivals have left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the live atmosphere at that time? Are there any other music festivals in 2025 that invite you to participate? The live recording album in 2010 was recorded at the music festival you participated in?

M: 好吧，最后一个总是最好的，不是吗？因此，去年7月，我们参加了Luppolo摇滚音乐节，与Cradle of Filth, Candelmass, Coroner和Infected Rains等大型艺术家同台演出。关于2010年的现场专辑：这只是我们当时在一个著名的场地与另一支意大利乐队合作的一场演出的录音。

Well, last one is always the best one, isn't it? So we took part last July at Luppolo in Rock Festival sharing the stage with huge artists as Cradle of Filth, Candelmass, Coroner and Infected Rains among others. About 2010 live album: it was just a recording of a gig we did with another Italian band in a well renowned venue at the time being.

V: 除了在2025年发行新专辑外，你还有什么新工作要做？你能和大家分享一些信息吗？

What new work do you have to do besides releasing new albums in 2025? Can you share some information with everyone?

M: 目前，我们还计划在未来几年为音乐节举办演出，以推广我们的上一张专辑"Over and Over"。此外，我们还有一些全新的歌曲需要精心打造，我们将从中选择新年第一首单曲进行录制并在全球发行。

Currently we're planning gigs also for festival in the next years to promote our last album 'Over and Over'. Moreover we got some more brand new songs to shape off properly from which we'll gone choose the new year first single to record and to release worldwide.

V: 你们是一支优秀的乐队，我将永远支持和追随你们的乐队。我也希望通过这次采访，更多的人会关注和支持你的乐队。最后你有什么想对中国歌迷朋友们说的吗？

You are an excellent band, and I will always support and follow your band. I also hope that through this interview, more people will pay attention to and support your band. Do you have anything to say to your Chinese fans and friends in the end?

M: 我们真的很自豪能得到你的关注：我们的音乐如何传播到中国和那里的金属爱好者，真是令人难以置信！！！太神了！！所以，请继续听我们的音乐，并保持关注：也许有机会将整个The Dogma Burning直接带到中国的某个舞台上！！！
