今天采访到的是来自葡萄牙的Symphonic Black / Death Metal乐队NekrOmatics，组建于2025年的NekrOmatics乐队是一支非常年轻的乐队，由Melek Taus一个人组建，不久之后Melek Taus邀请了Melkor加入乐队，Melkor加入乐队不久之后发行了乐队的第一张正式专辑“Place Of Indulgence”，一张精彩的Symphonic Black / Death Metal作品诞生了，阴暗，冰冷的氛围，优美的旋律，精彩凶狠的Riff，让这支乐队得到了很多人的认可，在新专辑发行之际乐队成员Melkor参与了杂志的专访！

Today's interview is with Portuguese Symphonic Black / Death Metal band NekrOmatics. Formed in 2025, NekrOmatics is a very young band, formed by Melek Taus alone, who soon invited Melkor to join the band. Shortly after Melkor joined the band the first official album “Place Of Indulgence” was released, a brilliant piece of Symphonic Black / Death Metal was born, with a dark, cold atmosphere, beautiful melodies and vicious riffs. Riffs, the band has received a lot of recognition, and on the occasion of the release of the new album band member Melkor participated in an interview with the magazine!

Hello Melkor, I'm meeting again. This time I'm going to interview the Nekromatics band that you formed. In what year was this band formed and how did you form it?

M: 再次向你问好！很高兴与你交谈。NekroMatics成立于2025年初。该项目最初Melek Taus创立，他邀请我加入他的黑暗之旅。Melek Taus是凿穿虚空的乐段和旋律的幕后策划者，而我则承担起了塑造贝斯、人声、管弦乐和制作的任务。我们共同赋予了NekroMatics生命或者说是复活，打造出了一种体现死亡、重生和禁忌艺术的声音。

Greetings once again! Always a pleasure to speak with you. NekroMatics was formed in early 2025. The project was originally founded and created by Melek Taus, who invited me to join him on this dark journey. Melek Taus is the mastermind behind the riffs and melodies that carve through the void, and I embraced the task of shaping the bass lines, vocals, orchestration, and production. Together, we gave life, or rather, resurrection to NekroMatics, crafting a sound that embodies death, rebirth, and the forbidden arts.

V: 这个乐队是由你自己组建的，还是有其他成员参加？新成员如何加入乐队？你对新成员的工作满意吗？

Is this band still formed by yourself or are there other members participating? How do new members join the band? Are you satisfied with the new member's job?

M: 在录制"Place Of Indulgence"时，NekroMatics只有我和Melek Taus两个人。每一段旋律、每一层管弦乐、每一声咆哮都是我们两人精心制作的。然而我们正准备进入一个新的阶段：不久之后，我们将开始挑选有能力的音乐家，他们能够真正接受这段黑暗之旅并帮助我们将 NekroMatics带到现场仪式的舞台上。我们对目前完成的工作非常满意。我和Melek Taus之间的协同作用非常强烈，而且极富创造力，为接下来的工作奠定了坚实的基础。

For the recording of Place Of Indulgence, NekroMatics is just the two of us - Melek Taus and myself. Every riff, every orchestral layer, every growl was carefully crafted between us. However, we are preparing to move into a new phase: soon, we will begin the selection of competent musicians who can truly embrace this dark journey and help us bring NekroMatics to the stage for live rituals. We are very satisfied with the work accomplished so far. The synergy between Melek Taus and myself has been intense and deeply creative, laying down a strong foundation for what is to come.

V: 能否介绍一下你们的创作过程？

Can you introduce your creative process?

Our creative process is a true collaboration born from the shadows. It all began with Melek Taus, who composed and recorded all the guitar parts and initial drum tracks in his home studio. Once everything was ready, he sent me the material. At Studios13, I imported the tracks into my project, made some small adjustments to the drums to enhance certain dynamics, and then added the bass, vocals, orchestral arrangements, and additional layers. Throughout this whole journey, Melek Taus and I stayed in close communication, refining each detail to ensure the essence of NekroMatics was fully realized. It's not just about recording music - it's about breathing life into something dark, powerful, and eternal.

V: "PlACE OF INDULGENCE"专辑的录制工作非常出色，还是在你们自己的录音室录制的？

Is the recording of the album 'PLACE OF INDULGENCE' excellent, or was it recorded in your own studio?

M: "Place Of Indulgence"的录制完全依靠我们自己的力量--没有妥协，没有捷径。Melek Taus 在他家的工作室录制了吉他和最初的鼓点，我则在Studios13负责贝斯、人声、配器、混音和母带制作。我们有意识地决定对整个过程保持完全的创意控制。每一个音符、每一层音效都经过了精心制作，确保最终的效果能够呈现出NekroMatics所需要的原始力量和磅礴的黑暗气息。我们不需要大型录音室来捕捉这张专辑的灵魂，我们用自己的双手，用激情、远见和不懈的意志打造了这张专辑。

Place Of Indulgence was recorded entirely through our own means - no compromises, no shortcuts. Melek Taus recorded his guitars and initial drum ideas at his home studio, and I took care of the bass, vocals, orchestration, mixing, and mastering at Studios13. We made a conscious decision to keep total creative control over the entire process. Every note, every layer was crafted with dedication and precision, ensuring the final result would carry the raw power and the majestic darkness that NekroMatics demands. We didn't need a major studio to capture the soul of this album, we built it with our own hands, fueled by passion, vision, and relentless will.

V: 这张专辑还是由你们自己的唱片公司发行的数字版本吗？

Is this album still a digital version released under your own label?

Our main goal is to secure a physical release through a serious label that understands and supports the spirit of NekroMatics. However, if we don't find a label that aligns with our vision, we will release Place Of Indulgence digitally by ourselves, ensuring that our music reaches the world without delay. Later, we also plan to create a limited self-released physical edition, for those who truly value having a piece of NekroMatics' dark legacy in their hands. Either way, this album will not be buried - it will rise and spread its shadows across the scene.

What is the music theme of this band about? Why did you choose this music theme, and what do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

The theme of NekroMatics revolves around death, rebirth, and the occult forces that govern the hidden realms of existence. This thematic direction was chosen by Melek Taus, who wanted to explore the cycle of life and death, the tension between light and darkness, and the transcendent power that lies beyond the physical realm. As for the lyrics of Place Of Indulgence, I was the one who wrote them, drawing inspiration from the concept of indulgence in its most profound sense - the embracing of one's deepest desires and the quest for freedom from societal constraints. The album delves into the exploration of self-empowerment, the pursuit of forbidden knowledge, and the liberation that comes from surrendering to the forces that lie outside the boundaries of conventional morality. It’s about breaking free from the chains of the mundane and finding strength in the shadows. Each song on the album is a journey through indulgence, desire, and the darkness that fuels creation and destruction.

The logo design of this band is very beautiful. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork is also beautifully designed. Is this artwork your own design?

Thank you for the compliment on our logo! I initially conceived the idea for the NekroMatics logo, but it was the talented artist Rafael Cruz who refined it, bringing it to life with precision and a level of detail that truly embodies our vision. His artistic touch captured the dark elegance we strive for, and now he’s working on the album’s booklet, ensuring that every visual element enhances the experience. Rafael Cruz is also responsible for the album cover design and some additional elements in the booklet. He worked closely with us to ensure that the imagery aligns with the themes of indulgence, death, and transcendence that run through the album. Additionally, we had the pleasure of working with Mr. Bruno Mendes from Attic HomeStudio, who took the stunning photos that will appear in the booklet. His eye for capturing raw emotion and intensity brought another layer to the visual narrative of Place Of Indulgence. Together with Rafael’s design, these images will create a cohesive visual experience to accompany the music.

First of all, congratulations on the release of your first official album "PLACE OF INDULGENCE". The thick darkness, cold atmosphere, heavy and slow Riff, combined with the ferocity and cruelty of Death Metal, make this album reveal a unique feeling. Do you have any personal opinions on this album?

Thank you for the congratulations! Place Of Indulgence is a reflection of everything we’ve worked for - a marriage of darkness, power, and emotional depth. For me, this album represents the raw intensity that NekroMatics was always meant to embody. The thick, cold atmosphere, the slow, heavy riffs, and the relentless brutality of the Death Metal influence, they all combine to create something that feels like a journey into the abyss, yet also a path to liberation. What I find most satisfying about this album is how it blends the ritualistic and symphonic elements with the aggression and cruelty of Death Metal. There’s a certain tension that runs through it, a contrast between the heavy, almost funeral-like riffs and the ferocity that builds within each track. It’s not just about brutality; it’s about creating an atmosphere that draws the listener in and challenges them. On a personal level, this album feels like the beginning of something much larger, a new entity in the extreme metal scene. Every note, every word, is a step into the unknown, and that is what makes it so powerful. Place Of Indulgence is a manifestation of our vision, and I’m proud of what we’ve created. But the journey is far from over, it’s just the first chapter.

Nekromatics is a great band, do you have any new work to do in the coming time?

Thank you for the kind words! While Place Of Indulgence has yet to be officially released, we’re already looking ahead to the future. Melek Taus has been working on new ideas for the next album, and I’m really excited to see where his creative vision takes us. I’m eagerly awaiting the first recordings from him so that I can dive into my part - handling the bass, keys, and vocals. The creative process has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to build on the foundation we’ve established with this album. Our goal is to take the dark atmosphere and intensity even further and continue pushing the boundaries of what NekroMatics can become. The next chapter is already taking shape, and we’re ready to bring even more darkness and power to the world.
