波兰作为极端金属最重要的国家之一，在这个国家成立了很多世界知名的乐队，今天我要为大家介绍的就是来自波兰的一支老牌Death Metal乐队Spirits Way，2009年由Tomasz组建，2011年乐队自己发行了一张五首歌曲的EP专辑“Freedom Through Blood”，2012年乐队自己发行了他们的第一张正式专辑“Brainless Puppets Are Enslaved”，这张专辑发行之后受到广泛的好评，这张专辑也受到了亚洲国家的高度关注，尤其是在中国，日本等国家收到了很好的反馈，2015年乐队在鼓手Przemysław和Tomasz两个人的阵容发行了第二张正式专辑“Devoid of Morality”，一张阴暗，残酷的Old School Death Metal的作品，这张专辑也由德国的Godeater Records厂牌发行，“Devoid of Morality”发行之后乐队由于阵容的问题，导致乐队一直没有任何新的作品发行，今年乐队终于要发行他们的第三张正式专辑“Attendite a falsis prophetis”，新专辑发行之际Spirits Way乐队的Tomasz也与我取得联系进行了一次采访！

Poland is one of the most important countries for extreme metal, and many world-renowned bands have been formed in this country, and today I would like to introduce you to Spirits Way, a veteran Death Metal band from Poland, which was formed by Tomasz in 2009, and in 2011 the band self-released a five-track EP entitled "Freedom Through Blood", and in 2012 the band self-released their first official album "Brainless Puppets Are Enslaved", which was widely acclaimed after its release. What is the meaning of the name Spirits Way?

first of all, over the years the band's line-up has changed from album to album, and sometimes from tour to tour, for various reasons, we are still friends with many of the former musicians. I'm very happy to be working with the new drummer (Shaun Black) because we have the same priorities and enthusiasm in making music and he is a true professional. We met while playing in another band and after fortunately we both decided to leave the project, I decided to invite Shaun to join Spirits Way.

Each of you are experienced musicians playing extreme metal, each of you are involved in a lot of bands, how do you go about the creative side of things, can you describe the process?

How to be a creative musician? Good question! sometimes I'm a creative musician... This is primarily due to the fact that I don't limit myself to listening only to Black or Death metal, my horizons and ambitions are greater haha

Every one of your albums has been really great in terms of recording, I love how you guys recorded them, what studio did you record the albums in? Was the new album recorded in the same studio? Which recording engineer produced your albums? Did the recording of the new album go well?
T: 我曾在不同的录音室录制过专辑，例如与"Klon"录音室的大师Andrzej Kaminski合作，但由于我从波兰搬到了伦敦，我选择了我们现任鼓手Shaun（Digital Demon Forge）拥有的另一家录音室，他也是我们新专辑的制作人。
I recorded albums in various studios, e.g. with master Andrzej Kaminski from Studio "Klon", but due to my move from Poland to London, I chose another studio owned by our current drummer Shaun (Digital Demon Forge), who is also the producer of our new album, Working with Shaun was a real pleasure, his creativity and fresh ideas opened my eyes to new things...

The theme of your music is about violence and death, which is very common in death metal, why did you choose this theme? What do you want to express through these themes? Do you write any lyrics, who writes them and what inspires them?

Art is emotions, sometimes you need the right tools to describe them...It's like telling a story using words and sounds, in my music I bring my experiences and emotions, usually extreme ones...I can tell you that "Devoid of morality" and our new album are albums that are the seed of the greatest anger due to the preceding situations that took place... well, death metal is anger and rebellion!

Your 2011 - 2012 releases were all self-released and you didn't collaborate with any labels, it wasn't until 2015 that you chose to release an album with Germany's Godeater Records, how did you get in touch with Godeater Records to collaborate? Were you happy with the work you did with Godeater Records? Will you continue to work with Godeater Records for this year's album or will you choose a new label to work with?
T: 不......我们不再与这家唱片公司合作了......当我决定开始录制下一张专辑时，我转向了另一家德国唱片公司Teufelszeugrecords。我们会看看时间会带来什么，我希望合作愉快......
No... we don't cooperate with this Label anymore... when I decided to start recording the next album, I turned to another German label, Teufelszeugrecords. We'll see what time will bring, I'm counting on nice cooperation...

First of all, thank you for telling me that your band is going to release a new album this year, it's an exciting news for me, I'm a big fan of your band, I've been following you since 2011 and I really like your work, you guys are playing the purest Old School without any funky elements in it, and you guys are giving hope to all the fans who love Old School, what do you think about your work? What do you think of your work? How does the new album compare to the old one?

I appreciate it very much and thank you, brother, for your kind words! I appreciate every kind of support and kindness from the fans... well... each album has its own story behind it, each one is wonderful in its own way, and this time we cross new boundaries... I am pleased with the results and I can't wait to play this music live and show our strength.

Are you guys working on anything else this year besides releasing a new album? Of course I'm sure your first priority will be to promote the new album, can you give us some information on that?

On May 31st, this is where our race will start... but until then we still have a few interesting things to show you..And soon we will start working on the next album, so..things will happen...I have to make up for the lost time I spent on the previous band hahah
V: 你们乐队参加过很多音乐节，哪些音乐节给你留下了深刻印象？
Your band has played a lot of festivals, what festivals have impressed you and can you describe the atmosphere?
T: 兄弟！有好几个，都非常棒... 我经常和我喜欢的乐队一起演出，从而实现了我的梦想：Marduk、Obituary、Decapitated等等......我非常清楚地记得在Marduk之前在德国举办的音乐节！美好的时光
Brother! There were several of them and they were really great... I often fulfilled my dreams by playing with my favorite bands: Marduk, Obituary, Decapitated and many more... I remember perfectly the festival in Germany before Marduk! Beautiful times!
