今天采访到的是来自德国的Melodic Black Metal乐队Lycantrophilia，Lycantrophilia乐队最初由Isegrimm一个人组建并且发行了一首和一张EP专辑，2020年Isegrimm邀请了歌手D.M加入乐队担任歌手的位置并且发行了第一张正式专辑“Blood Moon Chronicles”，优美，阴郁的旋律再加上病例坑，邪恶的Black Metal元素，让这张专辑阴暗，冰冷，无情，邪恶，Isegrimm在旋律方面非常的讲究并且伴有有一些起伏的段落，歌手D.M的演唱也让这张专辑更加的邪恶，随后乐队在2021年发行了第二张正式专辑“Perpetual Eclipse”，这张专辑依旧保持着第一张专辑所有优点，也被更多的歌迷熟知，同时也被乐评人评为2021年最优秀的Melodic Black Metal作品之一，2025年乐队发行了第三张正式专辑“The Tyranny of Decay”，新专辑发行之际杂志乐队的主创人员Isegrimm取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview was with the Melodic Black Metal band Lycantrophilia from Germany. The band was originally formed by Isegrimm and released one song and one EP album. In 2020, Isegrimm invited singer D.M to join the band as a singer and released their first official album "Blood Moon Chronicles". The beautiful and gloomy melody, combined with case pits and evil Black Metal elements, made this album dark, cold, ruthless, and evil, Isegrim is very particular about melody and has some ups and downs. Singer D.M's singing also makes this album even more evil. Subsequently, the band released their second official album "Perpetual Eclipse" in 2021, which still maintains the advantages of the first album and is well-known to more fans. At the same time, it was also rated as one of the best Melodic Black Metal works of 2021 by music critics. In 2025, the band released their third official album "The Tyranny of Decay". At the time of the release of the new album, Isegrim, the creator of the magazine band, contacted them for an exclusive interview!

V: 你好，Lycantrophilia，感谢你接受本次采访。那么在采访之前，你能简单介绍一下你的计划吗，你的计划是什么时候开始的呢，它成立的初衷是什么？

Hello, Lycantrophilia. Thank you for accepting this interview. Before we start, could you briefly introduce your plan? When did it begin and what was its original intention?

I: 非常感谢你给我们这个机会。我们很荣幸通过火山杂志向中国金属界介绍我们。Lycantrophilia是自然神秘主义与恐怖传统融合的地方。我们的音乐是一个转化的容器——一种将破坏性的思想和情感转化为创造力的方式。起初，这是我的个人项目。2020年，我邀请D.M.担任主唱。随着时间的推移，我们与其他创意人士合作，但他和我仍然是这个项目的核心——灵魂。

Thank you very much for giving us this opportunity. We are deeply honored to be introduced to the Chinese metal community through Volcano Magazine. Lycantrophilia is where nature mysticism merges with the tradition of horror. Our music is a vessel of transformation – a way to channel destructive thoughts and emotions into creativity. In the beginning it was my solo project. In 2020 I invited D.M. to join as the vocalist. Over time we have collaborated with other creative minds, but he and I remain the core – the soul – of this project.

V: 你能和我们谈谈你是如何创作音乐的吗？你们在创作的过程中是否遇到过一些阻碍或者是困难呢？你觉得在做个人计划的时候最方便的事情是什么呢？

Could you talk to us about how you create music? Did you encounter any obstacles or difficulties during the creative process? What do you think is the most convenient thing when making personal plans?

I: 所有的歌曲都是我创作的，Isegrimm。从第一段即兴重复到最后的编排，视觉来自我的手。但是，没有D.M.，Lycantrophilia就不可能存在——它通过我的作品和他的诠释的相互作用而存在。他的音域非同寻常，这给了歌曲生命的气息。当然，每一个创作过程都会时不时地遇到障碍。但作为一个独立的项目，我们不受合同或截止日期的约束。这种自由使我们能够花时间进行艺术创作，并按照自己的方式进行创作。我们仍在不断学习和成长，这是美的一部分。

All songs are composed by me, Isegrimm. From the very first riff to the final arrangement, the vision comes from my hand. But Lycantrophilia cannot exist without D.M. – it lives through the interplay of my compositions and his interpretation. His vocal range is extraordinary, and it gives the songs their breath of life. Of course, every creative process faces obstacles now and then. But as an independent project we are not bound by contracts or deadlines. That freedom allows us to take the time our art really needs and to create on our own terms. We are still learning and growing with every release, and that is part of the beauty.

V: 我发现你在2021年到2025年之间有一段时期的空白，那段时间你一直没有发行歌曲，那么你那时候在忙什么呢？

I noticed that there was a period of blank from 2021 to 2025 in your career, during which you didn't release any songs. So, what were you busy with at that time?

I: 在那段时间里，我经历了一个创意街区，我通过暂时远离金属并探索其他流派来解决这个问题。D.M.在其他项目上非常活跃，如Helioss和Celestial Swarm。因此，当Lycantrophilia保持沉默时，我们都在成长为艺术家——这种成长对“Tyranny of Decay”来说变得很重要。

During that time I went through a creative block, which I resolved by stepping away from metal for a while and exploring other genres. D.M. was very active with other projects such as Helioss and Celestial Swarm. So while Lycantrophilia was silent, we were both still growing as artists – and that growth became important for The Tyranny of Decay.

V: 你将要发行2025年的新专辑"The Tyranny of Decay"，能否和我们聊聊这张专辑呢？你觉得这张专辑和之前的专辑最大的区别是什么呢？它是对之前的一种创新还是延续呢？

You are going to release your new album "The Tyranny of Decay" in 2025. Could you share some thoughts about this album with us? What do you think is the biggest difference between this album and your previous ones? Is it an innovation or a continuation of your previous works?

I: “Tyranny of Decay”围绕着腐朽这一普遍规律和不可避免的存在常数展开。这是我们试图在元层面上接近死亡和短暂，这通常超出了人类的思维。在音乐方面，这是我们迄今为止最多元化、最雄心勃勃的作品——比以往任何作品都更黑暗、更大气，但也更丰富、更直接。这既是我们本质的延续，也是迈向新的未知领域的一步。我们希望中国的听众能和我们一起感受这段旅程。

The Tyranny of Decay revolves around decay as a universal law and the inevitable constant of existence. It is our attempt to approach death and transience on a meta-level that usually lies beyond human thought. Musically, it is our most diverse and ambitious work to date – darker, more atmospheric, but also more varied and direct than anything we’ve done before. It is both a continuation of our essence and a step into new, uncharted territory. And we hope listeners in China will feel this journey together with us.

V: 这张专辑是一张概念专辑吗？他是否讲述了一些故事或者是情节呢？能否和我们详细谈谈你的歌词？

Is this album a concept album? Does it tell some stories or have some plots? Could you talk to us in detail about your lyrics?

I: 是的，“Tyranny of Decay”是一张概念专辑。其抒情主干的很大一部分涉及宇宙尺度上的有限性和熵。它标志着我们远离了早期作品中带有恐怖色彩的自然神秘主义和野性，朝着更宇宙的方向迈进了一步。歌词充满了融合自然、宗教和天体物理学的象征意义。他们在末日般的雷声和亲密的低语之间摇摆，在广阔和个人之间摇摆。每首歌都是自己的世界，但它们共同构成了一个更大的愿景。

Yes, The Tyranny of Decay is a concept album. A large part of its lyrical backbone deals with finitude and entropy on a cosmic scale. It marks a step away from the horror-tinged nature mysticism and wildness that characterized our earlier work, towards something more cosmic. The lyrics are filled with symbolism that fuses nature, religion, and astrophysics. They oscillate between apocalyptic thunder and intimate whispers, between the vast and the personal. Each song is its own world, but together they form one larger vision.

V: 有没有自己很喜欢的乐队或者是对自己影响很大的乐队吗？

Do you have any favorite bands or bands that have had a significant influence on you?

I: 我们可以提到很多，但对我们来说最重要的是，尽管有各种比较，我们已经形成了自己微妙但明确无误的特征。“Tyranny of Decay”非常多样化——从无情的爆炸性风暴到忧郁的民谣再到哥特式金属赞美诗。D.M.的声音在尖叫、咆哮、喉咙歌唱和干净的嗓音之间无缝切换，增添了更多的多样性。然而，每一首曲目都是100%的Lycantrophilia——毫无疑问是我们自己的。

There are many we could mention, but what matters most to us is that, despite all comparisons, we have developed our own subtle but unmistakable signature. The Tyranny of Decay is extremely diverse – from relentless blastbeat storms to melancholic ballads to gothic metal hymns. D.M.’s voice, shifting seamlessly between screams, growls, throat singing and clean vocals, adds even more variety. And yet every track is 100% Lycantrophilia – unmistakably our own.

V: 你是否有想法进行现场演出呢？如果不能的话，能和我们谈谈是什么原因吗？

Do you have any thoughts about performing live? If not, could you tell us why?

I: 我们没有这样的计划，尽管我很想在舞台上看到这个项目，但它仍将是一个工作室项目。我们甚至不住在同一个国家。为了使现场表演成为可能，我们需要音乐家和严肃的唱片公司支持来为他们提供适当的资金。在当地举办小型演出是不现实的，而大型巡演将带来巨大的个人和职业影响，结果尚不确定。因此，就目前而言，Lycantrophilia属于工作室，但通过我们的录音，我们希望能够接触到包括中国在内的世界各地的听众。

We have no such plans, and as much as I would love to see this project on stage, it will remain a studio project. We don’t even live in the same country. To make live shows possible, we would need session musicians and serious label support to finance them properly. Small local gigs wouldn’t be realistic, and larger tours would bring massive personal and professional impact with uncertain results. So for now, Lycantrophilia belongs to the studio – but through our recordings we hope to reach listeners everywhere, including China.

V: 我认为你们的作品非常优秀，我会一直关注你们乐队的，也祝你新专辑发行一切顺利。那么最后还有什么想和大家说的吗？

I think your works are extremely excellent. I will always keep an eye on your band. I also wish your new album release goes smoothly. So, is there anything else you want to say to everyone at last?
