今天采访到的是来自杂志的老朋友Melkor组建的一支新乐队Obscvrvm Caeli，组建于2025年的Obscvrvm Caeli乐队是一支非常年轻的乐队，依旧还是Melkor自己一个人组建的乐队，所有的工作全部都是由Melkor一个人完成，由Studios13 / Supergoat Wreck-Whordes两家厂牌共同发行，这张专辑最大的特点就是浓重的氛围感充斥着正张专辑，仿佛一种古老的仪式正在进行当中，同时将凶猛的Death Metal的Riff和冰冷的Black Metal的氛围结合在一起更加的突出作品的凶猛，冰冷，作品根基于Old School Black Metal基础上，不仅仅融入了Death Metal的元素，还融入了一些Doom Metal，Avant Garde和Atmospheric等元素，让这张专辑更加的悲伤，气势磅礴，前不久Obscvrvm Caeli刚刚发布了第一张正式专辑“Throne of Eternal Night”，在新专辑发行之际Melkor再次与杂志取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview was with a new band called Obscvrvm Caeli, formed by Melkor, an old friend from the magazine. The Obscvrvm Caeli band, formed in 2025, is a very young band, still formed by Melkor himself. All the work is completed by Melkor alone, and it is jointly released by Studios 13/Supergoat Wreck Whordes. The biggest feature of this album is the strong atmosphere that permeates the main album, as if an ancient ceremony is underway. At the same time, the fierce Riff of Death Metal and the cold atmosphere of Black Metal are combined to highlight the fierceness and coldness of the work. The work is based on Old School Black Metal and not only incorporates elements of Death Metal, but also incorporates some Doom Metal, Avant Garde, and Atmospheric Adding elements that make this album even more sad and majestic, recently Obscvrvm Caeli released their first official album "Throne of Eternal Night". On the occasion of the release of the new album, Melkor once again contacted the magazine for an exclusive interview!

Hello brother, we meet again. This time I'm going to interview the Obscvrvm Caeli band that you formed. In which year was this band formed? How did you form this band?

M: Obscvrvm Caeli乐队成立于2025年7月。这个项目得以轻松启动，源于它本质上是一支一人乐队，完全由我的个人愿景驱动。从最初我就渴望创造某种能毫无保留地传递黑暗与宇宙荒芜的作品。由于音乐、歌词和概念都由我一手包办，组建过程与其说是招募成员，不如说是将萦绕我多年的构想具象化。

Obscvrvm Caeli was formed in July 2025. It was very easy to bring this project to life because it is a one–man band, entirely driven by my own vision. From the very beginning, I wanted to create something that would channel darkness and cosmic desolation without compromise. Since I handle every aspect, music, lyrics, and concept, the formation was less about gathering members and more about giving shape to an idea that had been haunting me for years.

V: 你现在还是乐队里唯一的成员吗？有没有其他成员加入？他们是怎么加入的？

Are you still the only one in this band? Are there any other members joining this band? How did they join the band?

M: 是的，Obscvrvm Caeli至今仍是我的个人项目，正如我过去创作的许多作品。这张专辑的成型非常迅速，因为我心中早已构筑清晰的愿景——一种近乎电影般的氛围，如同将恐怖电影配乐转化为Black MMetal。独立创作让我得以毫无妥协地雕琢每个细节，正是这种强度赋予了音乐独特的氛围。

Yes, Obscvrvm Caeli is still only me, as with many of the projects I’ve created in the past. This album came together very quickly because I already had a clear vision in my mind of what I wanted to achievel, something almost cinematic, like a horror soundtrack translated into black metal. Working alone allowed me to shape every detail without compromise, and that intensity is what gives the music its atmosphere.

V: 这张专辑是如何诞生的？能否介绍创作过程？

How was this album created? Can you introduce the creative process?

M: 这张专辑的创作过程非常直接，因为动笔前我已将整体概念构思完成。我首先通过MIDI技术“雕琢”键盘音色，塑造出阴郁的电影质感，宛如恐怖片配乐般令人毛骨悚然。在此基础上，我逐步融入其他乐器，始终遵循着想要营造的氛围。首支创作的曲目成为基石，奠定了整张专辑的声响与情绪基调。后续每首作品都遵循相同逻辑展开，不断延伸“永恒黑夜与宇宙废墟”的初始意象。唯一例外是翻唱曲目——我刻意重构其框架以契合这个宇宙观，将传奇乐队的经典作品扭转为与Obscvrvm Caeli主题在歌词与声效上高度契合的作品。结构成型后，我仅用两天便完成了歌词定稿、细节打磨与全部录制。创作过程极快却也极度炽烈，宛如召唤一场等待已久的仪式。

The creative process for this album was very direct because I already had the entire concept in my head before I began. I started by “sculpting” the keyboards in MIDI, shaping dark, cinematic textures that felt almost like the soundtrack to a horror film. From there, I gradually introduced the other instruments, always following the atmosphere I wanted to create. The first track I composed became the foundation, it defined the sound and the mood of the entire album. Every song that followed was built in the same way, expanding on that initial vision of eternal night and cosmic ruin. The only exception was the cover, which I deliberately reimagined to fit into this universe. I wanted to take a song from a legendary band and twist it into something that lyrically and sonically aligned with the themes of Obscvrvm Caeli. Once the structures were complete, I finalized the lyrics, refined the details, and recorded everything in just two days. It was a very fast composition process, but also very intense, like channeling a ritual that had been waiting to be performed.

V: 这张专辑是在你自己的工作室完成的吗？录制过程进展顺利吗？

Did you complete this album in your own studio? Is the recording process progressing smoothly?

M: 是的，整张专辑都是在我自己的工作室完成的。创作过程非常流畅，近乎本能，就像我其他许多项目那样。我倾向于即兴发挥并立即录制最终版本，不做过度思考也不依赖技巧。这样作品才能保持直接、真诚且充满生命力。拥有个人工作室至关重要，因为我喜欢按自己的方式、自己的节奏创作，更能在灵感迸发的深夜随时投入。有时创意突如其来，必须立刻奔向电脑捕捉转瞬即逝的火花。这种自由不仅让录制过程更顺畅，更赋予作品真实感——每个音符都在注定诞生的瞬间诞生。

Yes, the entire album was completed in my own studio. The process was very fluid, almost instinctive, just like in many of my other projects. I tend to improvise and record the final takes immediately, without overthinking or relying on tricks. This way the composition remains direct, honest, and alive. Working in my own studio is essential, because I like to create on my own terms, at my own pace, and at any hour of the night when inspiration strikes. Sometimes an idea appears suddenly, and I need to run straight to the computer to capture it before it fades. That freedom makes the recording process not only smoother, but also more authentic, as every sound is born in the exact moment it was meant to exist.

V: 你的标志设计非常精美。是谁为你设计的这个标志？你的艺术作品也极具美感，暗色调的风格令人惊艳。是谁为你创作了这些艺术作品？

Your logo design is very beautiful. Who designed this logo for you? Your artwork is also very beautiful, dark. Who designed this artwork for you?

M: 整个标志和艺术作品的概念都直接源于我自己的构思。在初期阶段，我只是将人工智能作为收集和整合初步想法的工具，但此后所有内容都经过手工精雕细琢。我在Photoshop中进行创作，运用滤镜、重塑线条、重新定义氛围，最终雕琢出完整的视觉效果。目标是创造极致黑暗却充满复古气息的作品，既唤起80年代末90年代初的美学记忆，又充分运用当代强大工具。最具挑战的是内页设计——我必须精心整合所有概念元素，反复调整尺寸、修改细节、增删构图，直至视觉叙事与音乐完美契合。最终，标志与封面艺术皆成为声音本身的延伸：仪式感十足、晦涩难解且永恒不朽。

The entire concept for the logo and artwork came directly from my own mind. In the early stages, I used artificial intelligence simply as a tool to gather and merge some initial ideas, but from there everything was refined by hand. I worked in Photoshop, applying filters, reshaping lines, redefining atmospheres, and sculpting the final vision. The goal was to create something extremely dark but with an old school feeling, evoking the aesthetics of the late ’80s and early ’90s, while also taking advantage of the powerful tools we have today. The most challenging part was the booklet, where I had to carefully fit all the concepts together, resizing, modifying, adding and removing elements until the whole visual narrative matched the music. In the end, both the logo and the artwork are extensions of the sound itself: ritualistic, obscure, and timeless.

V: 这张专辑是通过你自己的厂牌发行的，为何不选择其他厂牌发行？这张专辑是否曾以CD形式发行过？

This album was released on your own label, why don't you choose another label to release it? Has this album ever been released on CD?

M: 这张专辑通过我自己的虚拟厂牌发行。最初其实计划明年初由另一家厂牌推出，但由于我手头有多个项目在推进，且该厂牌并非只发行我的作品，我不得不做出抉择。我决定将那个发行档期留给另一个个人项目，而Obscvrvm Caeli则以独立形式发布。目前专辑仅以数字格式存在。暂无实体CD版的具体计划，但未来或许明年会有实体发行。

This album was released through my own virtual label. At first, it was actually planned to come out on another label early next year, but since I have many projects in motion, and that label doesn’t release only my work, I had to make a choice. I decided to keep that slot for another solo project, while Obscvrvm Caeli was released independently. For now, the album exists only in digital format. There are no concrete plans for a CD edition at this moment, but perhaps in the future, maybe next year, a physical release could happen.

First of all, congratulations on releasing your first album this year. This album combines the ferocity of death metal with the coldness of black metal, and the melody is excellent. Do you have any personal opinions on this album?

M: 收到你的支持之言令我深感荣幸。创作这张专辑带给我极大的愉悦，因为它让我得以融合两个我真正崇敬的世界——Death Metal的凶猛与Black Metal的冰冷。对我而言，这不仅是构建氛围与吉他riff的过程，更是探索并打磨自我声线的旅程，每首曲目都在不断突破声线边界。我视这张专辑为Obscvrvm Caeli理念的诚挚表达：原始张力、黑暗气质与旋律元素浑然一体。它如同宏大旅程的起点，我为作品精准捕捉了攻击性与氛围感而自豪，这完全契合我的艺术愿景。

It means a lot to receive your words of support. This album gave me great pleasure to create, because it allowed me to merge two worlds that I truly admire, the ferocity of death metal and the coldness of black metal. For me, it was not only about building the atmosphere and the riffs, but also about exploring and refining my own voice, pushing it further with each track. I see this album as a very honest expression of what Obscvrvm Caeli represents: raw intensity, darkness, and melody working together as one. It feels like the first step of a larger journey, and I am proud of how it captures both aggression and atmosphere in a way that is true to my vision.

V: 专辑发行后需要开展哪些新工作？

What new work needs to be done after the release of this album?

M: 专辑发行后，创作并未停止，只是形态转变。总有更多工作待完成：将音乐更深入地传播至地下圈层，接受媒体访谈，确保Obscvrvm Caeli的氛围触达那些注定要聆听它的人。与此同时，我已着手构思新作品，因为灵感永不休眠。每个创作项目都为下一个开启大门，我渴望保持这种创作势能。视觉元素同样需要拓展——艺术设计、概念构思，或许未来还需筹备实体版本。对我而言，发行并非终点，而是更广阔旅程的起点。

After the release of this album, the work doesn’t stop, it only transforms. There is always more to be done: spreading the music further into the underground, giving interviews, and making sure the atmosphere of Obscvrvm Caeli reaches those who are meant to hear it. At the same time, I am already shaping new material, because inspiration never really rests. Each project I create opens the door to the next one, and I like to keep that momentum alive. There are also visual elements I want to expand, artwork, concepts, and perhaps preparing for a physical edition in the future. For me, the release is not the end of the process, but the beginning of a wider journey.
