Deathcore作为当今最为火爆的音乐风格，被很多歌迷追捧，同时也孕育出很多经典的乐队，今天采访到的就是来自美国的Old School Deathcore乐队Orgasmic Savage，作为一支年轻的乐队，在2025年发行了第一张作品“Cygnus”就深受所有歌迷的关注和支持，和很多现在的Deathcore乐队相比较Orgasmic Savage的作品更加的Old School，去除了很多现在时髦的元素，但是保留了Old School的凶狠和细腻的编排，同时他们的作品当中还运用了一大量的Brutal Death Metal的元素，让他们的作品听起来在细腻当中流露着一丝丝的凶狠，今年乐队也刚刚发布了两首最新单曲，这也预示着乐队即将发行的新专辑，在新单曲发行之际乐队也与杂志取得联系进行了一次专访！

Deathcore, as one of today’s hottest music genres, is adored by many fans and has given rise to numerous iconic bands. Today, we’re interviewing Orgasmic Savage, an Old School Deathcore band from the United States. As a young band, they garnered widespread attention and support from fans upon releasing their debut album, “Cygnus,” in 2025. Compared to many current Deathcore bands, Orgasmic Savage’s music is more Old School, stripping away many of today’s trendy elements while retaining the ferocity and intricate arrangements of the old school. At the same time, their music incorporates a significant amount of brutal death metal elements, giving their sound a hint of ferocity beneath its intricate details. This year, the band has just released two new singles, signaling the imminent release of their upcoming album. To mark the release of these new singles, the band reached out to our magazine for an exclusive interview!

Orgasmic Savage carries that raw, gritty tone of the Michigan underground scene. How did you guys form? What does the name "Orgasmic Savage" mean to you, and what are you trying to convey with it? In an era that increasingly favors polish and grandeur, why do you stick to the uncompromising, brutal old-school deathcore approach?

O: 这支乐队纯粹是出于我对创作音乐的渴望而组建的，只是一个出于热情的项目。至于乐队名称“Orgasmic Savage”：“Orgasmic”的定义是性高潮，“Savage”的定义是凶猛、野性且极具自信的人。将两者结合起来，便会得到一个致命的性变态生物。鉴于我长期沉迷色情内容的经历，我觉得这个名字很符合乐队的身份。

The Band was formed merely as a passion project due to my own creative itch to want to create Music. As for the Band Name " Orgasmic Savage " " Orgasmic " definition - sexual climax " Savage " definition - ferocious, untamed Person who's extremely confident. Mesh the 2 together and you'll get a deadly Sexual Deviant being. Given my long History of Porn Addiction I thought the name fit the identity of the Bands.

V: 你的新单曲"Sacrificial Betrayal"围绕背叛与毁灭展开。能否向我们详细介绍一下你的创作过程？是什么激发了你创作这首歌的灵感，又为何选择这个特定主题？

Your new single "Sacrificial Betrayal" revolves around betrayal and destruction. Could you walk us through your creative process? What sparked the writing of this song, and why did you choose this particular theme?

O: 作为首张全长专辑，从歌词层面来看，这是一部充满曲折转折的单维度科幻太空恐怖故事。至于专辑名称"Sacrificial Betrayal"，基于故事的歌词内容，这个标题对歌曲而言再合适不过。在器乐编排上，我希望打造出兼具恰到好处的和声、张力以及无休无止的恐怖感的作品。

Since this first full length project Lyrically is a One dimensional Sci Fi Space Horror Story filled with twists and turns. As for the Name " Sacrificial Betrayal " based on Story lyrically it just made sense for the Song to be Titled that. Instrumentally I wanted to craft something with the right amount of harmony, tension, and unrelenting horror.

Your debut record CYGNUS features excellent dynamic shifts in instrumental performance paired with intensely harsh vocals, interspersed with the atmospheric track Perplexed Awakening that greatly boosted the album’s distinct identity. What was your reasoning for placing this piece midway through the record? And how did you craft this debut album overall?

O: 这是个好问题。在我看来，概念专辑或EP若能配上出色的间奏曲和引子曲，效果会最佳，也能进一步烘托出艺术家试图传达的整体氛围。通过间奏曲"Perplexed Awakening"，我试图营造一种从外星人施加的、导致意识昏迷的酷刑中苏醒后的感受。作为我的首个项目，"Cygnus"的制作过程中，我从Oceano乐队的专辑"Contagion"中汲取了大量灵感。

That's a good question. Concept Albums Or EP to me thrive the best with good Interlude, and Intro Tracks. And can add to the overall atmosphere the Artist is trying to convey. With the Interlude Song " Perplexed Awakening " I wanted to create a sense of what it would Feel like after waking up from a conscious Coma inducing Alien Torture. With the making of Cygnus being my first Project. I took a lot of inspiration from the Album " Contagion " by Oceano.

V: 你们的录音风格极具特色，保留了Old School Deathcore标志性的冲击力和动态表现。你们是如何进行录音的？对于刚成立的Deathcore乐队，在录音方面你们有什么建议？

Your recording style has a very distinct character — it retains old-school deathcore’s signature punch and dynamics. How do you approach recording? And what advice would you give to newly formed deathcore bands when it comes to recording?

O: 在创作方面，我会不断尝试和重新构思各种想法，直到一切都符合我的构想为止。我会建议任何新乐队都要耐心，不要仓促完成创作过程。如果你有一个很酷又奇特的想法，就去尝试一下。即使一首歌已经完成了，最好还是多花些时间分析，直到你确信最终版本应该是什么样。

On the Creative side of things I do a lot of playing around and reimagining ideas until I come to a point where everything line up to my vision. I would tell any new Band to take their time and don't rush the creative process. If you have a cool weird idea, experiment. Even when a Song is complete. It's best to analyze longer until you know for certain what the final version should be.

V: 你们的两首新单曲真的非常出色。作为来自密歇根州地下极端金属圈的乐队，当地乐迷和整个音乐圈对你们最近发布的作品反响如何？有没有哪条反馈给你们留下了深刻印象？

Your two new singles are really impressive. Coming from the Michigan underground extreme metal scene, how have local fans and the overall scene responded to your recent releases? Has any feedback left a lasting impression on you?

Well since Orgasmic Savage is just mainly an Online Band instead of Touring. I don't have an answer for your question. I have received a few appreciative messages.

What are your thoughts on the recent surge of “blackened deathcore”? While many bands are pushing the limits of technical complexity and speed, you went the opposite direction with Prelude To Assimilation, focusing on raw aggression and stripped-down brutality. In this age of “faster, heavier, more complex,” why do you choose to stay true to the old-school approach?

O: “Blackened Symphonic Deathcore”不适合我。尽管那种“非人”式唱腔很酷且独具特色。我认为“Blackened Symphonic Deathcore”整体上缺乏“MySpace Era Deathcore”的那些元素，而正是这些元素让我迷上了极端金属。如果让我在Modern Deathcore和Brutal Death Metal之间做选择，我每次都会选Brutal Death Metal。就我对Deathcore的理解而言，我只是想凭着巨大的热情，创作出粗犷而沉重的音乐。

Blackened Symphonic Deathcore is not for me. Though the Inhuman Vocals are cool and unique. I think Blackened Symphonic Deathcore overall lacks the elements of " MySpace Era Deathcore " that attracted me to extreme Metal. If I had to choose between Modern Deathcore or Brutal Death Metal, it would be Brutal Death Metal every time. With my approach to Deathcore. I just wanted to make something Gritty, Heavy from a place of immense passion.
