瑞典Death Metal一直有一种独特的“美”存在着，很多来自瑞典的乐队都用有大量的歌迷，很多瑞典乐队发行的专辑也被很多国家的厂牌重新发行，甚至还有一些致敬瑞典乐队的合辑，可见瑞典的Death Metal乐队在国际的影响力，今天就为大家介绍一支来自瑞典的老牌Death Metal乐队In Pain，组建于1992年的In Pain乐队由Micke和Loui组建，最初他们演奏的是Punk / Hardcore风格，但是他们想演奏自己真正喜欢的音乐，所以In Pain乐队成立了，随后Christian Fridlund和Thomas Grahn加入乐队，让乐队完成最初的阵容并且1993 - 1994年发行了两张Demo作品。这两张作品发行之后乐队也开始多年的解散，重组的路程，直到1998年乐队才稳定，2015年乐队发行了时隔多年的最新EP专辑，就此乐队展开了他们的乐队生涯，目前乐队发行了两张EP和三张全长专辑，所有作品都收到了很好的反馈，也被更多的歌迷认识和关注，2026年乐队发行了他们的最新作品“My Knife Cuts Flesh”，在新专辑发行之际，杂志与乐队的创始人Micke取得联系进行了一次专访！

Swedish death metal has always possessed a unique "beauty," with many Swedish bands boasting large fan bases. Albums from many Swedish bands have been re-released by labels in numerous countries, and there are even compilation albums paying tribute to Swedish bands, demonstrating the international influence of Swedish death metal. Today, we'll introduce In Pain, a veteran death metal band from Sweden. Formed in 1992 by Micke and Loui, In Pain initially played punk/hardcore, but they wanted to play the music they truly loved, leading to the formation of In Pain. Later, Christian Fridlund and Thomas Grahn joined the band, completing the initial lineup, and they released two demo tracks in 1993-1994. Following the release of these two albums, the band went through a period of disbandment and reunion for many years, finally stabilizing in 1998. In 2015, they released their first EP in many years, marking the start of their band career. To date, they have released two EPs and three full-length albums, all of which have received positive feedback and gained wider recognition and attention. In 2026, they released their latest album, "My Knife Cuts Flesh." To coincide with the album's release, the magazine contacted the band's founder, Micke, for an exclusive interview!

V: 你好Micke，很高兴见到你，非常感谢你接受这次采访。我想这应该是你们乐队第一次接受中国杂志的采访。首先向所有中国乐迷和朋友们问好。In Pian成立于1992年，是一支历史悠久的乐队。你们当初是如何组建这支乐队的呢？

Hello Micke, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let me say hello to all Chinese fans and friends. In Pian was founded in 1992 and is a long-standing band. How did you form this band in the first place?

M: 嗨！是的，我想这应该是我第一次接受中国杂志的采访。乐队最初是我和Loui一起组建的。我们之前玩的是Punk/HC，但我们想玩自己真正喜欢的音乐，所以就组建了In Pain，后来Christian Fridlund和Thomas Grahn也加入了。

Hi! Yes I think it’s the first time for a Chinese magazine. It was Loui and I that started the band way back. We had a Punk/HC band but we wanted to play music that we really liked instead so we started In Pain and later Christian Fridlund & Thomas Grahn joined.

V: 你是乐队里唯一一位创始成员，其他成员都已更换。第一代成员为什么离开乐队？新成员又是如何加入的？你对新成员的表现满意吗？新成员的加入给乐队带来了哪些新的创作灵感？

You are the only original member in your band now, and all the other members have been replaced. Why did the first generation members leave the band? How did the new members join the band? Are you satisfied with the new member's job? What new creative inspirations has the addition of new members brought to the band?

M: 基本上是因为对演奏没兴趣所以他们离开了，没什么怨言，事情就是这样。新阵容都是老朋友和朋友的朋友。我觉得这是目前为止最稳定的阵容，一切都很顺利，我们也玩得很开心。

It was basically lack of interest in playing so they left, no hard feelings it’s just how it is. The new lineup are old friends and friends friends. I think this is the most solid lineup so far, things works out good and we have a good time.

V: 你能谈谈乐队在创作过程中遇到的失误吗？例如，吉他部分、鼓部分、贝斯部分？你是乐队的主要创作人吗？我相信你的创作经验会给更多年轻音乐人带来灵感！

Can you introduce the creative mistakes of your band? For example, the guitar part, drummer part, bass part? Are you the main creator of the band? I believe your creative experience will bring inspiration to more young musicians!

M: 我负责所有的歌词创作和人声编排。当然，我也创作了一些歌曲的曲子。这样做是为了保持“In Pain”的音乐风格。很长一段时间里，所有的词曲都是我写的，但现在Wegren和Nicklas会参与作曲。他们会把音轨发给我，然后我再进行编曲和人声创作。对我来说，创作的基本流程就是拿起吉他，看看会发生什么。有时候写一首歌只需要几个小时，有时候则需要几周的时间。

Well I write all lyrics and vocal arrangements. I have always some tracks that I have written the music for as well. It’s to keep the “In Pain sound” alive. For a long period I wrote everything but now Wegren & Nicklas contributes with music. They send me the tracks and I arrange and write vocals on them. The basic process for me is just to pick up the guitar and see what happens. Sometimes it takes a couple of hours to write a song and sometimes it takes weeks.

V: 你们乐队的每张专辑在录音方面都取得了显著进步，这与时代变迁密切相关。随着时代的发展，录音设备和技术也在不断进步。你们是在哪个录音棚录制的专辑？我注意到你也是一位录音工程师。你们乐队的专辑是自己制作的，还是找其他工程师来录制的？

Every album of your band has made significant progress in terms of recording, which is closely related to the changes of the times. As the times progress, recording equipment and capabilities are also improving. Which studio did you record the album in? I see that you are also a recording engineer. Did you produce your band's albums yourself or did you seek other engineers to record them?

M: 事物总会随着时间推移而现代化，有利有弊。最初的录音是用磁带，但现在是用电脑。我们尽量保持模拟的风格，比如我们不会在录音里加吉他插件，只用放大器和麦克风。最近的四张专辑都是在Sunligt Studio和Tomas Skogsberg一起录制的。我们可能会一直在那里录音和混音，直到他关闭录音棚为止。我会帮其他一些没有设备的成员录音。我主要负责帮别人做这些工作，我想专注于自己的演唱，而不是两者兼顾。我知道In Pain应该是什么风格，所以别人很难改变这一点，但我乐于接受新想法，而且有时候确实能得到一些好点子。

Things get modernized along the way for good and worse. First recordings were recorded on tape but now it’s computer. We try to keep it as analog as possible, we would not put a guitar plugin on a recording for example, its amplifier and microphones. For the latest 4 recordings we have recorded at Sunligt Studio with Tomas Skogsberg. We will probably continue record and mix there until he closes down the studio. I record some of the other members that don’t have the equipment them self. I mostly do job for others, I want to focus on doing my vocals and not both. I know how In Pain should sound so there’s not much room for anyone to change that, but I’m open for ideas and sometimes it’s good ones.

V: 你们乐队的标志设计非常独特，看似简洁却蕴含着复杂的设计。这个标志是谁设计的？你们的专辑封面设计也非常精美，尤其是今年新发行的专辑封面，更是美轮美奂。这些专辑封面是谁设计的？

Your band's logo design is very unique, but it reveals some complex designs in simplicity. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork design is also very beautiful, especially the newly released album artwork this year is really beautiful. Who designed these album artworks for you?

M: 乐队的标志是由Death Metal乐队Cursed（位于于斯塔德）的Daniel Barkaman在乐队成立之初设计的。我构思了一个封面，然后发给艺术家。只要艺术家能坚持我的想法，他们基本上可以自由发挥。新的封面是由Chainsaw Design设计的，他之前也设计过"Sound Of Death"的封面，我对他的作品非常满意。希望以后还能有机会和他合作。

The logo is done by Daniel Barkaman from the Death Metal band Cursed (Ystad) way back in the bands beginning. I come up with an idea for the cover and send it to the artist. The artist can basically do whatever they want as long as they stick to the idea. The new one is done by Chainsaw Design and he did the Sound Of Death as well, I’m really satisfied with his work. Hopefully we can work with him again in the future.

V: 你的音乐主题是血腥、死亡和战争。你为什么选择这个主题？你想通过这个主题表达什么？歌词也是你创作的。这些歌词是谁写的？灵感来自哪里？

Your music theme is about Gore, Death, War. Why did you choose this music theme? What do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

M: 是的，它主要围绕这些主题展开，还有一些神秘主义和厌世主义的内容。我喜欢老式恐怖电影，而不是那些毫无灵魂的现代垃圾。你应该把这首歌的音乐和歌词当作一部老式恐怖电影来欣赏。现在所有的歌词都是我写的。

Yes it’s most about those themes and a couple of occult and misanthropic ones. I like old horror movies, not the modern shit with no soul. You should consider the music and lyrics as a horror film from the past. It’s me that write all the lyrics nowadays.

V: 你是如何联系到 To the Death Records、Southcoast Productions 和其他唱片公司，并与他们合作制作专辑的？Southcoast Productions 是你们的长期合作伙伴。你对这家唱片公司的工作满意吗？

How did you get in touch with To the Death Records, Southcoast Productions, and other labels to collaborate on your album? Southcoast Productions is your long-term partner. Are you satisfied with the work of this label?

M: To The Death 的老板是我的老朋友，所以选择他们是个不错的决定。我们目前与Helter Skelter（Regain Records）合作发行黑胶唱片，之前也合作过，效果非常好。SouthCoast Productions是一家很棒的厂牌，我们可以随心所欲地做任何事，简直不能更好了。我们始终乐于与其他厂牌合作，只要感觉合适，并且是认真的合作。

The owner of To The Death is an old friend of mine so that was a good choice. We currently work with Helter Skelter (Regain Records) for the vinyl release and done that before, works out really well. SouthCoast Productions is a great label and we can do whatever we want, couldn’t be better. We are always open for collaboration with other labels, if it feels right and it’s serious ones.

Your band announced their disbandment in 1994 and only announced their reorganization in 1998. What prompted you to announce the disbandment of the band? What was the reason for you to reorganize the band again? After the restructuring, you did not immediately release new works until 2015. What was the reason why you chose to release a new album many years later?

M: 嗯，这并不完全属实。乐队最初的成员在1994年就离开了，但Loui继续留了下来。1996年因为服兵役我们短暂休息了一段时间，之后就没再动静了。这些年来我一直忙于其他乐队，但始终以各种方式维系着In Pain的存在。从1997年到2015年，我们发行过一些作品，但从未发行过专辑。至于原因，我也不太清楚，但我认为最主要的原因是我们和一群志同道合的人重新组成了完整的乐队，感觉一切都很合适，或许在不久的将来，我们会发行一张收录了那段时间老歌的合辑。

Well that’s not entirely true. The original members left 1994 but Loui and continued. We had a break 1996 du to military service but that’s about it. I have been occupied in other bands throughout the years but always kept In Pain alive one way or the other. We have released stuff between 1997-2015 but never a album. The reasons for that I don’t really know but I think the main thing was that we became a whole band again with good people and it felt right. Will probably be some compilation with old material from that time in a near future.

V: 首先，祝贺你们乐队今年发行了新专辑，这也是你们的第三张正式专辑。瑞典死亡金属乐队一直以来都拥有独特的风格、旋律和编曲，深受众多乐迷的喜爱。你们也是这样的乐队。你们如何看待自己的作品？新专辑和之前的专辑有什么不同吗？

First of all, congratulations to your band for just releasing a new album this year, which is also their third official album. Swedish death metal band has always had a unique presence, unique melodies, and unique arrangements, which have deeply loved many fans. You are also such a band. What is your opinion on your own works? Is there any change between the new album and the old album?

M: 谢谢。我创作音乐已经很久了，而且一直坚持创作。我不会刻意追求什么方向，我只是创作自己喜欢的音乐，如果别人也喜欢，那就更好了。现在我的风格有所改变，因为我不再包揽所有创作。但要想收录到专辑里，它必须听起来像“In Pain”的作品。

Thanks. I have been around and written music for a long time now and I just keep doing it. I don’t think about having a direction, I write music that I like and if someone else like it that’s a great bonus. There’s some changes because I don’t write everything nowadays. But it have to sound “In Pain” to be on a record.

V: 作为一支老牌乐队，你们参加过很多现场演出。哪些演出给你们留下了深刻的印象？能描述一下当时的氛围吗？2026年你们又有哪些新的演出计划呢？

As an old band, you have participated in many live performances. Which live performances left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the atmosphere at that time? What new performances are waiting for you in 2026?

M: 我们曾是Back to the Symbolic音乐节的压轴嘉宾之一，那真是太棒了，现场气氛超好，音乐节也很精彩。但真正让我印象深刻的是我们新专辑的发布演出。我们在家乡举办的演出门票售罄，我至今都难以置信。那晚演出非常精彩，歌单也特别长。我还见到了很多许久未见的老朋友。从各个方面来说，那都是一个非常棒的夜晚。

We were one of the headlines at Back to the Symbolic festival and that was really great, great crowd and good festival. But the gig that made a big impact on me was the release gig for our new album. We sold out in our home town, I still can’t believe that. A great evening with an extra long set list. Met many old friends that I haven’t seen in ages. It was a truly awesome evening in many ways.

You are an excellent band, and I am your loyal fan. I will always pay attention to and support your band.
