维京史诗作为金属乐队们的常年热门题材，始终有着稳定数量的乐队在创作以此为题材的音乐。2006年，几个来自俄罗斯的维京金属爱好者们决定组建一支自己的维京金属乐队。乐队起名为Тысячелистник（Tysyachelistnik）。成员们都是同学，彼此互相学习作曲。在一次为挪威维京Black Metal乐队Helheim做暖场时，因为意识到来自其他文化背景的人很难读出他们的乐队名称，于是乐队改名为Vegvisir。乐队坚持用俄语进行所有创作，这让Vegvisir有着与来自北欧的维京金属截然不同的气质。目前，Vegvisir正在计划他们的17城巡演，同时准备新EP和单曲的发行。杂志与Vegvisir的成员们进行了一次专访。

Viking epic, as a perennial popular theme among metal bands, has always had a stable number of bands creating music based on this theme. In 2006, several Viking metal enthusiasts from Russia decided to form their own Viking metal band. The band is named Tysyachelistik. The members are all classmates, learning composition from each other. During a warm-up for the Norwegian Viking black metal band Helheim, they realized that it was difficult for people from other cultural backgrounds to pronounce their band name, so the band changed its name to Vegvisir. The band insists on using Russian for all their creations, which gives Vegvisir a completely different temperament from Viking metal from Northern Europe. Currently, Vegvisir is planning their 17 city tour and preparing for the release of a new EP and single. The magazine conducted an exclusive interview with members of Vegvisir.

V: 兄弟很高兴见到你，非常感谢你参与这次采访。我想这是你们乐队第一次接受中国杂志采访。首先向所有中国粉丝打个招呼。Vegvisir成立于2006年，原名是Тысячелистник。直到2018年你才改了现在的名字Vegvisir。你为什么改名字？你们最初是怎么组建这支乐队的？

Hello brother, it's nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let's say hello to all Chinese fans. Vegvisir was founded in 2006, and your original name was Тысячелистник. It wasn't until 2018 that you changed your current name Vegvisir. Why did you change your name? How did you form this band in the first place?

E: 加油，中国金属头！中国金属乐迷们！乐队最初由同学的朋友组建。其中两名成员还留在这里，Drage和TiER。那时候班上近一半的人都在弹吉他，所以组队尝试创作自己的作品很合理。所以我们就在这里。我们以Тысячелистник的名义发行了两张demo和EP，也演出过几场，但对名字和标志都不是完全满意。在我们的第二次演出中，我们为挪威Viking Black Metal乐队Helheim担任暖场嘉宾并向他们展示了我们的第一张CD，但他们没有一个能正确发音我们的名字“Tysyachelistnik”，甚至连重复都唱不出来。多年后，当我们准备发行首张完整专辑时，我们意识到我们的标志不够维京风格，不得不改成适合专辑封面的标志。问题在于：名字太长，不显得紧凑（而且演出时听众难以喊），而且仍是西里尔字母，外国人无法阅读或在网上找到（拉丁名字意味着每个人都能读懂），所以我们最终决定更改。令人惊讶的是，像Vegvisir这样美丽且著名的标志至今仍未被任何乐队使用。所以我们接受了。

Horns up, chinese metalheads! The band was originally formed with classmates friends. Two of them are still up here, Drage and TiER. Back then nearly a half of the class played guitars, so it made sense to party up and try and make our own material. So here we are. We've released 2 demos and EP under Тысячелистник name and played a few gigs but we weren't completely happy about both our name and logo. On our second gig we've supported norwegian viking black metal band Helheim and we presented them our first demo on a CD but none of them could pronounce our name "Tysyachelistnik" correctly or even repeat it at all. Years later when the time has come to release our first full-lenght album we realized that our logo was not vikingish enough and we had to change it so it could fit the album cover. The problems were the following: the name was tooooo long to make it look compact (and also for listeners on the gigs to chant), it was still cyrillic so foreigners could not read it and find it on the internet (a latin name means everybody can read and understand it) so we finally decided to change it. It was really a surprise that such a beautiful and famous symbol as vegvisir still wasn't used by any band. So we took it.

V: 你们的乐队始终保持原始阵容，这让你们创作更容易，因为你们彼此非常熟悉，知道对方需要创作什么样的作品。你能介绍一下你的创作过程吗？我相信你的创作经历会激励更多年轻音乐人！

Your band always maintains the original line-up, which makes it easier for you to create because you are very familiar with each other and know what kind of works each other needs to create. Can you introduce your creative process? I believe your creative experience will bring inspiration to more young musicians!

E: 这些年来阵容实际上发生了很大变化。但事实是我们真的是好朋友，这也帮助我们在定期排练和巡演中保持舒适，巡演时我们几乎坐在一辆车里做弱点，而这时角色分配很重要，比如司机、食物搜索员、现场技术员、商品陈列员、演出后公关。创作过程主要由Drage和TiER掌控，实际上任何乐队都是一样的——有时音乐优先，有时歌词优先，有时是一起诞生。

The line-up actually changed a lot through the years. But the truth is that we are really good friends and this is what helps us to keep comfortable on regular rehearsals and through tours where we literally sit together in one car for weaks and here is where role distribution is important, like driver, food searcher, scene technician, merchandiser, after-gig-public-relations. Creative processes are mostly held by Drage and TiER and in fact it's the same for any band - sometimes music comes first, sometimes lyrics do, sometimes they come up together.

V: 你们乐队的每张专辑都有出色的录音效果。你是在哪个录音室录制的这张专辑？哪位制作人为你制作了这张专辑？你刚刚发布了最新单曲。哪家录音室录制了这首单曲？录制过程中遇到了哪些困难？

Every album of your band has excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record the album in? Which producer made the album for you? You have just released your latest single. Which studio recorded this single and what difficulties did you encounter during the recording process?

E: 每一首歌都是在家录制的。我们有一些装备可以做到这一点。最近三张专辑由我们的好友、来自Alienations乐队的Vlad混音和母带处理。我们的乐队共用一名贝斯手，我们偶尔一起参加演出。我们录音过程中最大的难点是非常缺乏自由时间，因为我们也有工作和处理。

Every single track was recorded at home. We have some gear to do that. Last three releases were mixed and mastered by our good friend Vlad from Alienations band. Our bands share a bassist and we participate in gigs together from time to time. The main difficulty in our recording processes is a great lack of free time because we aslo got works and stuff.

V: 维京人、斯拉夫人、战斗、神话是你的音乐主题。你为什么选择这个音乐主题？你想通过这个音乐主题表达什么？你的歌曲名称、歌词和专辑名称都是用俄语创作的，俄语是你的母语，这使得创建更加方便。这些歌词是谁创作的？灵感来源是什么？

Vikings, Slavs, Battles, Mythology are your music themes. Why did you choose this music theme? What do you want to express through this music theme? Your song names, lyrics, and album titles are all created in Russian, which is your native language, making it more convenient to create. Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

E: 一开始我们就遇到了伟大的瑞典乐队Thyrfing和Mithotyn，发现维京金属非常强大、令人兴奋且鼓舞人心。这就是我们想做的。我们的歌词很直观，讲述了英雄、战斗、神秘生物和其他史诗般的内容。这些歌词是俄语的，因为我们是一支主要为俄罗斯听众演奏的俄罗斯乐队。语言选择相当明显。而且我们2006年刚开始时，除了 myspace.com，没有其他国际流媒体平台。当我们在全球流行起来时，也许我们会再次想到歌词语言。我们的歌词灵感来自书籍、维京电子诗和其他维京金属乐队。整张"Вольница"(«Freemen»)专辑均基于这部历史小说。

Right there in the very beginning we encountered great swedish bands Thyrfing and Mithotyn and we found viking metal very powerfull, exciting and inspiring. So that was what we wanted to do. Our lyrics are pretty self-explanatory, they tell about heroes, battles, mystic creatures and other epic stuff. And those lyrics are in russian because, you know, we are a russian band that plays mostly for russian auditory in Russia. The language choice was kinda obvious. Also when we began in 2006 there was no international streaming platforms except myspace.com. When we get popular worldwide, we will think of lyrics language once again. May be. Our lyrics are inspired by books, viking epos, other viking metal bands. The whole «Вольница» («Freemen») album was based on the single historical novel.

V: 贵乐队的标志设计非常美观，且符合贵乐队的风格。是谁为你们设计了这个标志？你们的专辑封面艺术设计精妙绝伦，具有强烈的历史意义。这些专辑封面艺术是由谁为你们创作的？是什么启发了它们的设计？

The logo design of your band is very beautiful and in line with your band's style. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artworks are exquisitely designed and have a strong historical significance. Who created these album artworks for you and what inspired their design?

E: 首先，谢谢！我们的标志和最近几款专辑封面都是由单人Valentina Mustajarvi设计的。我们会向她说明我们对封面的构想，然后由她进行绘制。而标志完全归功于她，因为当时她提出了自己的创意，这个创意比我们能想到的任何想法都要好。

First of all thank you. Our logo and last few album covers were designed by single person, Valentina Mustajarvi. We tell her how we see the cover and she draws. And the logo is completely her credit, because that time she offered her own idea which was way better then those we could think of.

V: 你所有的专辑都是自行发布的数字版本。你是否曾考虑过与唱片公司合作，推出CD版本？

All of your albums are self-released digital versions. Have you ever considered collaborating with a label to release CD versions?

E: 不。我们是北方的独立金属战士。顺便说一下，我们还发行了一批自行制作的CD。

No. We are independent metal warriors of the north. And we have a bunch of self-released CDs by the way.

V: 首先，祝贺你们的乐队于 2025 年发行了一首新作。你们的音乐作品恢弘壮丽。仿佛回到了古代，两位主唱之间的合作显得格外精彩、完美，而优美的旋律也给我留下了深刻印象。对于你们自己的作品，你们有何看法？新专辑与旧专辑之间是否有任何变化？

First of all, congratulations to your band for releasing a new work in 2025. Your works are magnificent and grand. As if returning to ancient times, the collaboration between the two lead singers was quite wonderful, perfect, and the beautiful melody also left a deep impression on me. What is your opinion on your own work? Is there any change between the new album and the old album?

E: 再次感谢您的好话！如果您指的是清晰且极具表现力的演唱风格，那么所有这些都是由 TiER 录制的。Kvasir 在现场演出中负责伴唱。我们希望随着每一张新专辑的发布，我们的表现都能愈发专业。

Thank you once again for your good words! If you are talking about clear and extreme vocals, all of them were recorded by TiER. Kvasir sings backs on gigs. We want to believe we are getting more professional with every new release.

V: 俄罗斯是一个寒冷的国家，因此我认为这里有着非常适合像你们这样的乐队的创作素材。你能推荐一些在你们国家拥有类似风格的乐队吗？哪些乐队对你们的乐队产生了影响？

Russia is a cold country, so I think there are great creative materials for bands like yours. Can you recommend any other bands with similar styles in your country? Which bands have influenced your band?

E: 我们强烈推荐СатанаКозёл（SatanaKozel 或 SatanGoat）。此外，还有诸如Nordverg、Sleeping Woodland这样优秀的乐队。当然我们的朋友们Oran Mor、Nevia和Ворон（Voron 或Raven）也值得一提。对我们产生影响的乐队大多为瑞典和挪威的Viking和Viking Black Metal乐队，如Thyrfing、Mithotyn、Borknagar、Windir、Einherjer等，以及一些具有民俗氛围的乐队，如Agalloch、Adorned Brood等。

We can strongly recommend СатанаКозёл (SatanaKozel or SatanGoat). Also there are great bands like Nordverg, Sleeping Woodland. And of course our friends Oran Mor, Nevia and Ворон (Voron or Raven). Band that influeced us are mostly swedish and norwegian viking and viking black metal bands like Thyrfing, Mithotyn, Borknagar, Windir, Einherjer and some other with folkish atmosphere, for example, Agalloch, Adorned Brood.

V: 你曾参加过哪些音乐节活动？哪些音乐节给你留下了深刻印象？能否介绍一下当时现场的氛围？你计划在 2026 年参加哪些其他音乐节活动？

Which music festivals have you participated in, and which ones have left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the live atmosphere at that time? What other music festivals are you planning to participate in in 2026?

E: 我们大多会参与一些规模不算太大的地方性节庆活动，如 MadFest、Средневековка（中世纪节）、Izh Vyl Fest，以及我们自己为两到三支乐队安排的演出。上述所有节庆活动都给我们留下了温馨难忘的回忆。今秋我们计划进行一场覆盖17个城市的巡演。这将是一场盛事。此外今年七月我们还将再次参加Средневековка节庆活动，目前已规划好几场周六的演出。

We mostly play on not-so-big local fests like MadFest, Средневековка (Srednevekovka), Izh Vyl Fest and gigs we arrange ourselves for 2 - 3 bands. All three mentioned fests left very warm memories. This autumn we are planning a 17 cities tour. This is gonna be hot. Also this july we are playing at Средневековка fest again and a few saturday gigs are planned already.

V: 贵乐队在2026年需要承担哪些新的任务？例如创作并录制一部新作品？你能否与大家分享一些相关信息？

What new tasks do your band have to undertake in 2026, such as creating and recording a new work? Can you share some information with everyone?

E: 我们正计划推出3首单曲，也可能发行一张EP，但谁说得准呢？事情总是会发生变化的。

We are planning 3 singles and may be a EP, but who knows, things happen.

V: 你们是一支非常出色的老牌乐队，我将始终关注并支持你们的乐队。我也希望通过这次采访，能够吸引更多中国粉丝关注并支持你们的乐队。这次采访即将结束你们是否有什么话想对中国的粉丝说呢？

You are an excellent old band, and I will always pay attention to and support your band. I also hope to attract more Chinese fans to pay attention to and support your band through this interview. The interview is coming to an end. Do you have anything you want to say to Chinese fans at the end?

E: 非常感谢你，兄弟！如果音乐或其他任何创意性事物是你的生活重心，那就无论如何都要坚持追逐你的梦想吧。没有人会替你做到这一点。别忘了要“吹号角”、喝蜜酒并疯狂摇摆！
