厄运缠身 - 荷兰Death Metal乐队Sinister专访

今天采访到的是来自荷兰的著名Death Metal乐队Sinister，作为荷兰老牌乐队也是国际知名的乐队，早在1988年就已经组建，1990年的第一张Spilt专辑“Where Is Your God Now...?”就得到广泛的关注，在经过多张作品的发行之后，乐队在1992年发行了第一张正式专辑“Cross the Styx”，这张专辑也将佛罗里达的Death Metal的精髓发挥到极致并且加入了一些欧洲黑暗金属乐队元素，让这张专辑更加的黑暗，病态，这张专辑最大的优势在于它如何在不同的速度快、中、慢之间切换，你喜欢Deicide，Massacre，Possessed，Morbid Angel等乐队的话，那么Sinister是你一定不能错过的乐队，随后乐队发行的每一张专辑都深受所有乐评人和歌迷的关注和追随，同时被很多知名音乐节邀请参加演出，2003年乐队短暂的结束了乐队，2005年Sinister重新组建，2006年发行了他们重新组建之后的第一张专辑“Afterburner”，还是我们熟悉的那支Sinister乐队，2025年中国知名厂牌黄泉唱片邀请Sinister乐队来到中国进行他们的中国巡回演出，这次的巡回演出也是满足所有中国喜欢Sinister乐队的梦想，能够近距离的观看到Sinister乐队的现场魅力，Sinister乐队在进行中国巡回演出之际，杂志也通过黄泉唱片和乐队的Adrie取得联系进行了专访！

Today, I interviewed the famous Death Metal band Sinister from the Netherlands. As an old Dutch band, it was also an internationally renowned band. It was formed as early as 1988. In 1990, the first Spilt album "Where Is Your God Now ...?" After the release of many works, the band released its first official album "Cross the Styx" in 1992. This album also brought the essence of Florida's Death Metal to the extreme and added some European dark metal band elements to make this album darker and sicker. The biggest advantage of this album lies in how it switches between different speeds, medium and slow. If you like Deicide, Massacre, Possessed, Morbid Angel and other bands, then Sinister is a band that you must not miss. Subsequently, every album released by the band was deeply concerned and followed by all music critics and fans, and was invited to perform at many famous music festivals. In 2003, the band ended the band briefly. In 2005, Sinister was re-organized. In 2006, their first album "Afterburner" was released. It was still the Sinister band that we were familiar with. In 2025, China famous brand Huangquan Records invited Sinister band to China for their China tour. This tour was also to satisfy all China's dreams of liking Sinister band. I can watch the live charm of Sinister band at close range. When Sinister band is on tour in China, the magazine also made an exclusive interview with Adrie of the band through Yellow Records!

V: 嗨Adrie很高兴见到你，感谢你参加这次采访，我想这是你们第一次接受中国杂志的采访，首先向中国粉丝问好，Sinister成立于1988年，是一个历史悠久的老乐队，是谁首先发起了这个乐队的成立？你还记得当时的场景吗？

Hi Adrie it's nice to meet you and thank you for participating in this interview, I think this is the first time you guys have been interviewed by a Chinese magazine, first of all say hello to the Chinese fans, Sinister was formed in 1988 and is an old band with a long history, who initiated the formation of this band in the first place? Do you remember what it was like back then?

A: 你好，我是阿德里。首先你问好，所有来自中国的金属党们。这是我第一次需要采访你们的国家，所以对我来说很特别，我希望你们会喜欢。是的1988年那是很久以前的事了。Ron是"Cross the styx"中的吉他手，当我们还是小孩子的时候，因为对金属的热爱，我和他开始了Sinister之旅。从那时起我们和Iron maiden，Judas priest，Raven以及更多乐队一起长大。我们的梦想是成立一个金属乐队，但是我们从来没有演奏过乐器，哈哈哈。有一天，他买了一把吉他，他告诉我，现在我将成为鼓手，否则我们不能演奏，所以从那一刻起，我注定要成为鼓手。我们从零开始，练习了很多，直到我们能够演奏一点，但仍然很差，哈哈哈。在我想出Sinister之前，我们有几个乐队的名字。在这个时候，我们在乐器上有了一点进步，所以我们开始创作自己的歌曲。练习练习是我们在地下室做的事情，为了变得越来越好，直到我们有了一些歌曲。然后你来了一个点，我们需要一个歌手和贝斯手，我们发现这个家伙在我们的城市。一开始和其他人一起玩对我们来说很奇怪，但那时候一切都很好。在这许多事情发生之后，许多年过去了，我们才录制了第一张Demo。这一个被证明是一个伟大的并把我们放在极端金属场景的地图上。在这个演示之后，一切都开始为险恶滚动，现在35年后我仍然在这里，仍然非常积极地与乐队做好极端音乐。

Hello Adrie here.So first of all hello all you metal heads from China. This is the first time that I need to do a interview with your country,so something special for me and I hope you will enjoy this a bit. That is correct, 1988, it's a very long time ago. Ron the guitar player from "Cross the styx"and I started Sinister when we where young kids because for our love for metal.We grew up with Iron maiden,Judas priest,Raven and many more bands from this time.Our dream was to start also a metal band but we never played an instrument ever before hahaha.So one day he bought a guitar and he told me that I will be the drummer now otherwise we can not play,so i was doomed to be the drummer from that moment.We started from zero and practice a lot till the moment that we were able to play a bit,but still very bad hahaha.We had a couple of band names before I came up with Sinister.At this time we grew a bit on our instruments so we started to make our own songs.Practice practice is what we did in my basement to become better and better till the moment that we had some songs.Than you come to a point that we needed a singer and bass player,and we found this guys in our city.Its was very strange for us in the beginning to play with other people but it worked out fine at that time.After this alot of stuff happend and many years past by before we did our first demo recording.This one turnt out to be a great one and put us on the map in the extreme metal scene.After this demo everything started rolling for Sinister, and now 35 years later i am still here and still very motivated to make good extreme music with the band.

V: 你是乐队唯一的原始成员，其余的成员都被替换了，当然作为一个老乐队更换成员是很正常的事情，为什么第一代成员退出了乐队？新成员是怎么加入乐队的？我知道你也邀请了你的妻子加入乐队，你对新成员满意吗？

You are the only original member of your band, the rest of the members have been replaced, of course as an old band it is a normal thing to replace members, why did the first generation members quit the band? How did the new members join the band? I know you also invited your wife to join the band, are you happy with the new members?

A: 是的，我是从第一天留下来的唯一一个，没有我，Sinister就不会存在，这是肯定的。老成员们，我能说什么呢？我还记得他们，哈哈哈。很简单，他们中的许多人在长大后停止了游戏，开始寻找更严肃的生活，找一份工作，组建家庭，或者缺乏动力。当然在多年的场景中，我认识很多人，所以当我需要新成员时，我打了几个电话或者这些人想加入Sinister，这就是我找到新成员的方式。Alesa是一位出色的贝斯手和出色的舞台表演者。当我们需要新的贝斯手时，她是做这份工作的首选。我很高兴我们能一起环游世界，演奏精彩的演出。

Yes the only one left from day number one,and there will be no Sinister without me that is for sure.The old members what can i say about them and do I still remember hahaha.Its simple many of them stopt playing when they became older looking for a more serious life with a job starting a family or lack of motivation. Ofcourse of many years in the scene I know alot of people so when I needed new members I did some phone calls or this people whanted to join Sinister,this is how I find new members. Alesa is a fantastic bass player and great performer on stage.When we needed a new bass player she was the first choice to do the job.I am very happy that we can do this together all the travelling around the world and playing great shows.

V: 你们乐队的每个成员都是创作Death Metal的经验丰富的音乐家，能告诉我们你通常是如何写歌的吗？我认为你的写歌经历会激励很多年轻的音乐家。

Each member of your band is an experienced musician in writing death metal, can you tell us a little bit about how you usually write songs? I think your songwriting experience will inspire a lot of young musicians.

A: 对我们来说，它总是从吉他手的即兴重复开始。从这一点开始，我们从歌曲的基本构思开始。我们用许多不同的方法处理这个基本概念，直到我们找到正确的方法。同时我们还在不断尝试，努力让它对我们自己和粉丝来说尽可能的致命。有时一首歌可能需要两周，但另一首可能需要4个月，你永远不知道，当所有成员都满意时，这首歌就完成了。

By us it always starts with riffs from the guitar player.From this point we start with basic ideas for a song.We do the basic idea in many different ways till the point that we find the correct one.Also than we still keep on trying and trying to make it killer as possible for our self and the fans.Sometimes one songs can take two weeks but another one maybe 4 months you never know but the song is finished for us when all members are happy with it.

V: 神秘学、死亡、撒旦教是你的音乐主题，你为什么选择这样的音乐主题，你想通过这样的音乐主题表达什么，你们还创作了歌词部分，这些歌词是谁写的？他的灵感是什么？

Occultism, Death, Satanism are your musical themes, why did you choose such musical themes, what do you want to express through such musical themes, and you also composed the lyrics part, who wrote these lyrics? What was his inspiration?

A: 我们从邪恶的歌词开始，因为我们认为这与我们黑暗侵略性的音乐有很大的联系，没有其他原因，现在这对我和乐队来说已经不重要了。现在歌词可以不同只要它适合音乐。我们每个人都可以在他们喜欢的时候作词，这不是一个人的事情。

We started with the evil lyrics because we had in mind that this was a great connection with our dark aggressive music,no other reason at all.Now its not that important anymore for me and the band.Now a days the lyrics can be different aslong it fits to the music.By us everybody can makes lyrics when they like,its not a one person thing so to say.

V: 你的每张专辑在录音方面都很棒，你们都是在哪个录音室录制的专辑？哪位制作人制作了你们的专辑？

Each of your albums have been great in terms of recording, what studio did you all record your albums in? Which producer produced your albums?

A: 我们在不同的录音室和不同的制作人一起录音。我们做的第一张唱片是在德国录制的，很抱歉我记不起名字了，但其中一位制作人是Atrocity的Alex Krull。Diabolical Summoning、Hate和Bastard Saints在德国也有记载。有一次我们发现德国的Soundlodge工作室，Jorg Uken是一位伟大的制作人，我们和他一起录制了许多唱片。然后有一个时刻，你可以开始在家里为你的新唱片做很多事情，只是不打鼓。所以对于我们的最后一张唱片，我们只需要一个录音室来混音和灌制，像往常一样我们在德国做这些。

We did recordings in different studios with different producers. The first record we did was recorded in germany sorry can not remember the name anymore but one of the producers was Alex Krull from Atrocity.Diabolical Summoning,Hate and Bastard Saints also recorded in germany.At one point we found the Soundlodge studio also in Germany behind the desk was Jorg Uken a great producer and with him we stayed for many records.Then there is this moment that you can start doing alot at home for your new record only not drums.So for our last record we needed only a studio for mixing and mastering and like always we did this in germany.

V: 你的logo设计的很漂亮谁给你设计的logo，你的专辑艺术品也设计的很漂亮，谁给你设计的艺术品？

Your logo is beautifully designed who designed the logo for you and your album artwork is also beautifully designed, who designed the artwork for you?

A: 我们的logo也快35年了，是我当时的一个朋友做的。当他想出这个并展示给我们看时，我们说，是的，这太棒了，就像我说的，直到今天我们仍然拥有它并将与我们一起直到最后。对于我们的艺术作品，我们有不同的艺术家为我们工作。我总是带着一个想法来并向他们解释这是怎么回事，大多数时候他们都带来了出色的工作。所以在这张新唱片中，我们找到了另一位风格不同的伟大艺术家，但他非常适合Sinister。

Our logo is also almost 35 years old and was made by a friend of me at that time.When he came up with this and showed this to us we sais hell yes this is great and like I said till this day we still have it and will stay with us till the end. For our artwork we had different artists who did the job for us.I always come with a idea and explain them how it have to be and most of the time they came with fantastic work. So for the new record we found another great artist with a different styll but what fits perfect for Sinister.

V: 你的乐队在2003年宣布解散，2005年重组是什么让你宣布解散，又是什么让你重组了Sinister乐队？

Your band was disbanded in 2003, and reorganized in 2005. What made you disband and reorganized Sinister?

A: 解散的原因是我已经受够了乐队里的那些废话，我认为保持一个乐队在一起是音乐中最困难的事情之一。当你想成为一个邪恶的成员时，你需要放弃一部分你的私人生活，这是工作带来的很简单。但是总有那么一刻，人们开始抱怨很多东西。我们需要再次巡演吗，为什么我们需要再次练习，还有很多其他的事情，这让我疯狂，我说就这样吧，我再也受不了了。经过一段时间的无所事事，我真的开始想念它不是狗屎，而是现场演奏和乐队创造新的音乐，所以我对自己说，这是我的乐队，我可以做我想做的事情，所以我会改革Sinister并试图寻找新的成员。

The reason for the break was that I had enough from all the bull shit what comes with a band.I think keeping a band together is one of the most difficult things in music.When you like to be a Sinister member you need to give up a piece of your prived life this comes with the job ,simple is that.But there is always this moment when people start to complain about alot of stuff.Do we need to tour again,why do we need to practice again and so many other stuff it was driving me crazy that i said this is it I can not deal with this anymore. After a while of doing not much I really started to miss it not the bull shit but playing live and creating new music with the band,so I said to my self its my band and I can do with it what I whant so i will reform Sinister and try to look for new members.

V: 你的乐队已经和很多著名的唱片公司发行了专辑，这些唱片公司已经为很多伟大的乐队发行了专辑，你是如何联系这些唱片公司来发行你的专辑的？你是怎么接触到这些唱片公司来发行这张专辑的？

Your band has released albums with a lot of famous labels that have released albums for a lot of great bands, how did you get in touch with these labels to release your albums? How did you get in touch with these labels to release the album?

A: 为了录制第一张唱片，我们带着这些年来现场演出赚来的所有钱和我们日常工作的额外收入去了德国。在录音中Alex krull告诉我们nuclear blast办公室离演播室很近，也许问NB的老板是个好主意或者他想在我们的录音完成时让我们参观一下。我们说不行，我们不够好。但长话短说，他来录音室检查我们刚刚完成的唱片，他很喜欢，所以在我们离开家之前，我们收到了一份5张Nuclear blast唱片的合同，我想你可以想象我们是多么幸福在Nuclear blast之后，我们为hammerheart records做了一张唱片，现在已经为massacre records做了很多年了。

For the first record we did the Cross the styx one we travelled to germany with all the money we made with playing live shows over the years and extra money from our day jobs we had.Under the recordings it self Alex krull told us that the nuclear blast office was close to the studio and maybe it was a idea to ask the boss of NB or he like to give us a visit to check out our recordings when its finished.We said no way we are not good enough for this.But to make a long story short he came to the studio checking our record that was just finished and he loved it, so before we left home we received a contract for 5 records with Nuclear blast,i think you can image that we where going out of our minds from happyness After the nuclear blast time we did a record for hammerheart records and now already for many many years with massacre records.

Shocking melodies and blasting drums pound out a ferocious and gut-wrenching death metal mix, with spewing vocals quickly joining in. Filled with stoicism and awesomeness, the band continues to play impenetrable melodies and ridiculously fast drumming. There are also amazingly high pitched leads and absolutely insane, poignant vocals. Thanks to the excellent production, you guys sound as mind-blowing as ever. In addition to the undeniable brutality, we also see an almost Gothenburg melodic death style sophistication in some of the melodies on the record, which makes it more accessible to potential newcomers to the band, and even to death metal fans as a whole. These melodies never feel weak or boring, they only add more dimension to the wonderful assault that brings out both sides of the sound. Brutality, melody, and aggression come together in perfect harmony to form a collection of introspective yet catchy tracks, each of which takes us to the realm of oblivion. That's exactly how utilizing the diverse skills of songwriting and killer musicianship works in your favor. Everything feels refreshing as you guys keep the energy up, what do you think of your work?

A: 你对我们说了这么多好的话，这让我真的很自豪，给了我继续生活的动力。当然，我对我们的音乐感到非常自豪/高兴。但我仍然认为我们可以做得更好，我认为这是继续前进的正确精神，并试图让你发挥出最好的水平。我的意思是，当你对你所做的一切都感到满意时，就意味着原地踏步。我认为总有改进的空间，至少你可以尝试。

What a great words for us from your side,this makes me really proud and gives me the energy to continue with my life work. Ofcourse i am very proud/happy with our music. But still i think we can do it better,I think this is right spirit to keep on going and try to get the best out of you.I mean with this when you are satisfied with everything you do means standing still there is always room for improvment I think,atleast you can try.

V: 你的乐队在2024年有什么新的作品吗？比如创作，录制一些新歌，能不能透露一些信息给大家？

Is there anything new your band is working on for 2024? Like writing, recording some new songs, can you reveal some information to people?

A: 我们的新唱片快完成了，我仍然需要做3首歌曲的演唱，然后是混音和掌握的时间。我还能说什么呢，这将是非常极端和非常快速的..必须这样。

Our new record is almost finished,I still need to do 3 songs with vocals and than its time for mixing and mastering.What els can I say than that it will be very extreme and very fast ..the way it have to be.

V: 你们玩了很多节日，去了很多国家演出，有哪些节日或城市让你们印象深刻，能描述一下气氛吗？我知道你即将访问中国，你有什么期待吗？

You guys have played a lot of festivals and have traveled to many countries to perform, what festivals or cities have impressed you and can you describe the atmosphere? I know you're going to visit China soon, what are you looking forward to?

A: 这很难说，因为我们热爱这一切。南美总是很适合比赛，但是就像我说的，我们都喜欢那里。当人们为你的音乐疯狂时，为100名歌迷表演俱乐部节目也是很棒的。我唯一能说的是，我们非常感谢能环游世界，我们可以证明我们是一个杀手乐队。Sinister的在中国玩我们仍然不能相信它，我们是如此期待这个。我们会尽110%的努力让粉丝们满意我们的现场表演。但是我们不知道会发生什么，我们甚至不知道或者人们知道我们，但是在表演之后，我们肯定会记得。

That is hard to say because we love it all.South america is always good for playing,but like I said we love it all.Playing club shows for 100 fans can be also fantastic when people are going crazy on your music.Only thing I can say that we are very thankfull to travel the world and that we can show that we are a killer band. Sinister playing in China we still can not believe it we are so looking forward to this.We will give 110% to make the fans happy with our live show.But we have no idea what to expect, we dont even know or people know us,but after the show the will us remember for sure.

V: 你的乐队是中国非常有名的乐队，我是你乐队的超级粉丝，我会一直支持和关注你的乐队，你最后想对你的中国粉丝说些什么？

Your band is a very famous band in China, I am a big fan of your band, I will always support and pay attention to your band, what do you want to say to your Chinese fans in the end?

A: 哇，听说我们的乐队在中国很有名，真是太棒了。我能对中国的粉丝说些什么？我们非常期待来为你演奏我们的音乐。请出来吧，我们一定会一起度过一段美好的时光，这是混乱和疯狂的时刻。
