地心之旅 - 意大利Gothic Metal乐队Alchem专访

今天采访到的是一支来自意大利的Gothic Metal乐队Alchem，成立于1998年的Alchem乐队是意大利一支非常有资历的老牌乐队，乐队是由Pierpaolo Capuano和Annalisa Belli组建的并且取名为Acidaluna，2000年乐队正式更名为Alchem，2005年发行了第一张Demo作品，2008年乐队发行了第一张正式专辑“Shadows”，阴暗的氛围，冰冷的旋律，女歌手Annalisa Belli清澈，干净的嗓音给人一种身临其境的感觉，其中穿插的小提琴也给这张专辑的氛围提升了很高的档次，这张专辑发行之后便收到了很多喜欢Gothic Metal风格的歌迷一致好评，随后2011年乐队发行了一张EP专辑“Whispering”，同年乐队还发行了一张Compilation专辑，这张专辑也是为乐队早期的作品了进行了一个很好的总结，2018年乐队在The Triad Rec厂牌发行了他们的第二在正式专辑“Viaggio al centro della Terra”，这张长达一个多小时的作品，在继承了第一张专辑所有的优点之际还对编曲方面进行了改革，也让乐队成为国际知名乐队，前不久通过厂牌的协助，乐队与杂志取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today, I interviewed Alcam, a Gothic Metal band from Italy. Founded in 1998, Alcam is a very qualified old band in Italy. The band was formed by Pierpaolo Capuano and Annalisa Belli and named Acidaluna. In 2000, the band was officially renamed Alcam. In 2005, the first Demo work was released, and in 2008, the band released its first official album "Shadows". The dark atmosphere, cold melody, clear and clean voice of female singer Annalisa Belli gave people an immersive feeling, and the violins interspersed among them also improved the atmosphere of this album to a high level. After the release of this album, it received unanimous praise from many fans who like Gothic Metal style. Then in 2011, the band released an EP album "Whispering", and in the same year, the band also released a Compilation album, which was also a good summary of the band's early works. In 2018, the band released their second official album "Viaggio al centro della Terra" on the brand of The Triad Rec. This work lasted for more than an hour. While inheriting all the advantages of the first album, it also reformed the arrangement and made the band an internationally renowned band. Not long ago, with the help of the brand, the band got in touch with the magazine for an exclusive interview!

Hello to you and to the Chinese fans and all the readers of your magazine, thank you for hosting us in this interview, we are happy to meet you. "Alchem" is the noun from which the name "Alchemy" derives. When we started the project we wanted to express a musical alchemy. The band was born from the initiative of Pierpaolo Capuano and Annalisa Belli, who combined their creativity, resulting in a musical project with a very varied genre, and collaborating, over the years, with various musicians, up to today's formation with Paolo Tempesta

V: 你在2000年把名字改成了现在的名字，在那之前你的乐队叫Acidaluna，你为什么改名？

You changed your name to your current name in 2000, before that your band was called Acidaluna, why did you change your name?

That name referred to a previous situation. In that period there was a turning point, a change in musical orientation, and we decided to change it. It was a new beginning for us. But we are still fond of that name.

Your band line-up has never changed since the beginning, which makes it very easy for you to get to know each other very well and come in handy when it comes to songwriting, can you tell us a little bit about your songwriting process? I know you guys just released new material, how does the process of writing new songs work

In reality, as I said before, our lineup has undergone many changes, but the original nucleus has always remained the same, composed of Pierpaolo on guitar and Annalisa on singing. They are the authors of the songs, the lyrics, the music, the melodies. But in the next album, in progress, we will see Paolo's presence, his musical parts and arrangements, and we can say that the alchemy desired by the name is truly created. Our intent is to express ourselves and create a musical story. Our songwriting process is very spontaneous, based on empathy between

V: 你的乐队直到2005年才发布第一个Demo，为什么你选择在五年后发布你的作品？是因为工作吗？生活或其他原因？

Your band's first demo wasn't released until 2005, why did you choose to release your work five years later? Because of work? Life or other reasons?

In that period we had collected a lot of material, and we decided to extrapolate four or five songs at most, to be able to listen to labels or agencies. We chose four, the most representative. And we sent them to an agency and label, who appreciated them. The demo received many positive reviews. And we continued.

V: 你的Logo很独特，谁设计了你的Logo和专辑封面？谁设计了你们的艺术品？

Your logo is unique, who designed your logo and your album artwork is unique, who designed your artwork?

It's true, the Alchem logo is unique. It was designed by Pierpaolo Capuano, who deals with graphics, and a friend of his. The sun and moon combined, in alchemy constitute a union between the masculine and the feminine. We wanted to express this. Regarding the album covers, the previous ones are the work of Pierpaolo Capuano and Annalisa Belli, and the cover of "Viaggio al centro della terra" uses the dark art of Valeria Chatterley, while the artwork of the next album will be by Paolo Tempesta.

V: 忧郁、愤怒是你的一些音乐主题，你们为什么选择这样的音乐主题，你们想通过这样的音乐主题表达什么呢？你们有没有创作歌词部分，这些词是谁创作的，他的灵感来自于什么？

Melancholy, Anger are some of your musical themes, why did you choose them? What do you want to express through these themes? Do you have a lyrics section and who writes the lyrics and what inspires them?

The lyrics are written by Annalisa Belli, and spontaneously express the moods. It's not a choice, it's simply a nature, an attitude, a vision of reality, it's a natural expression that matches the musical part. Annalisa is also a writer, author of two novels, which inspired the songs, they can be found on Amazon. Unfortunately there is no section for lyrics.

V: 你已经发布了与MKM、Maculata Anima Rec.和The Triad Rec.等厂牌合作的专辑。你是如何与这些厂牌联系并合作的？对这些厂牌的工作感到满意吗？

You have released albums with labels such as MKM, Maculata Anima Rec. and The Triad Rec. How did you get in touch with these labels to collaborate? Are you satisfied with the work of these labels?

At the time, MKM did a good job of promoting it, but the collaboration did not continue. We are currently in excellent contact with Triad rec, owned by Andrea Verdesca and Daniele Bonifazi, and a new entry Graziano Ciccarelli. We really appreciate their promotional work, there is respect, friendship, moreover they too are artists and musicians like us, whose projects we really appreciate. New projects underway, there will be many new features. And also new investments. But I don't want to spoil anything.

Your work is excellent, the dark, depressive atmosphere gives a very quiet feeling, suitable for a person to listen quietly at night, your arrangement is very sophisticated, beautiful, slow melody, so that all the fans can walk into your work, the sultry girl singing makes your work more prominent ambient feeling, what do you think of your work? What do you think of your work? Have you changed anything from your old work?

thank you for your appreciation. We are very happy about it. All our albums constitute a sort of diary that represents the times in which they were conceived. In them, you can find the musical evolution of the band through the years. "Viaggio al centro della terra" was the album of maturity, in which all the previous energies were channeled. It is a journey that not only echoes Jules Verne's novel, based on the theories of the hollow earth, but also represents a journey inside the human being, into the unconscious, into the darkest part, up to brighter shades. Compared to previous albums, it is decidedly more prog oriented, and can be considered a real concept. This change will continue on the next album too.

V: 自从2018年发行第二张正式专辑以来，你还没有发布任何新作品，为什么多年来你没有发布任何新作品，你们的乐队在2024年有什么新的计划吗？你能给大家透露一些信息吗？

You haven't released any new material since your second official album in 2018, what's the reason why you haven't released anything new in years and is there anything new coming up for your band in 2024? Can you shed some light on that for everyone?

We haven't published yet, because our times are slow, we need to process the material, we proceed calmly, linking all the various concepts, we hope that a good work comes out that can be used by those who know and want to appreciate it. Lisa, Pierpaolo and Paolo, our official formation, are doing a very important job of composing and exchanging ideas with each other. Paolo is working on the arrangements and recording, as well as on the musical part, in a very detailed way. For 2024 I don't think there will be a release yet, but we hope in the next few months. Let's stay tuned and inspired.

As a veteran band, I' m you've. played a lot of festivals, what festivals have left a lasting impression on you, and can you tell us a little bit about the atmosphere, and what new festivals do you have coming up in 2024?

Currently our live activities are suspended, we are dedicating ourselves to composing the songs for the next album. We have beautiful memories of our live activity in the past, many beautiful experiences on stage, many friendships. We remember many experiences, it is difficult to extrapolate one in particular, from all of them we learned something and expressed a part of ourselves as artists. Performing in front of an audience is always a great thing.
