今天采访一支来自美国的Black / Doom Metal风格的乐队Antania，这支乐队也是我目前听到过最独特的乐队之一，由Dr Luna和Blackened Kali Mortem在2023年组建的一支两个人的乐队，这支乐队只有贝斯一种乐器，其他的乐器乐队全部没有使用，在贝斯锯齿和超低音中加入失真，邪恶的Black Metal加上缓慢的，沉重的Doom Metal，给人一种非常独特的美感，你在这支乐队的作品还可以感受到他们受到了很多风格的影响，比如EDM, Industrial, Black Metal, EBM, Death等风格，乐队也把自己的这种独特的风格称之为Blackened / Doom Bass，Antania乐队虽然成立与2023年，但是乐队是一支完全原创乐队，还与Orgy等乐队一起同台演出，目前乐队与The Triad Rec厂牌签约在2025年发行他们的第一张正式专辑“The God Complex”，同时新专辑发行之后乐队也将开始他们的新专辑巡回演出，在新专辑发行之际，Antania乐队通过厂牌与杂志取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview is with Antania, a Black / Doom Metal style band from the USA, one of the most unique bands I've heard so far, a two-piece band formed in 2023 by Dr Luna and Blackened Kali Mortem, this band has only one instrument, the bass, and no other instruments are used by the band, adding distortion to the bass sawing and overdubs, evil Black Metal with slow, heavy Doom Metal, giving a very unique aesthetic. The use of distortion in the bass jagged and overdriven bass, the evil Black Metal with the slow, heavy Doom Metal, gives a very unique aesthetic, you can also feel the influence of many styles in this band's work, such as EDM, Industrial, Black Metal, EBM, Death and so on, the band also put their own spin on this unique aesthetic. The band also refers to their unique style as Blackened / Doom Bass, Antania was formed in 2023 but is a completely original band that has played with bands such as Orgy and is currently signed to The Triad Rec label for the release of their first official album in 2025! ‘The God Complex’, and after the release of the new album the band will start touring the new album, on the occasion of the release of the new album Antania contacted the magazine through the label for an interview!

V: 你好兄弟很高兴见到你们，首先向中国歌迷问好，我想这是你们第一次接受中国杂志的采访吧。你们是如何组建乐队的？
Hello brother nice to meet you guys, first of all say hello to the Chinese fans, I guess this is your first interview from a Chinese magazine, Antania was formed in what year? How did you form the band?
A: Antania乐队成立时间不长。我们成立于 2023 年并马上开始了演出。因为我之前参加过的项目，我们的第一场演出是主场演出，第二场是为Doyle助演。我们从2023年1月开始一起演出并立即举办了多场演出。我在2021年认识了Kali，她是乐队的摄影师，我们开始约会。我当时正在组建一个全新的项目，她的歌声非常适合这个项目，之后我们立即开始了演出。
Antania is pretty new. We formed in 2023 and started playing right away. Because of previous projects I was in, our first show was a headlining show and our second was supporting Doyle. We started playing together in January of 2023 and put shows together right away. I met Kali in 2021 as she was a band photographer and we started dating. I was forming a brand new project and her vocals were perfect for it. We started performing immediately after.
V: 你们乐队只有两名成员，我认为这让歌曲创作变得非常容易，因为你们可以按照自己的想法完成歌曲，能描述一下你们的创作过程吗？
You only have two members in the band, which I think makes it very easy in terms of songwriting because you can finish the songs the way you want to, can you describe what you've come up with?
A: 这是我创造这种音乐风格的两个主要原因之一。我真的不喜欢在乐队里，我总是最有野心的成员，感觉被其他人拖慢了。第二个原因是因为我在脑海中写下了完整的歌曲。我已经厌倦了歌曲听起来和我脑海中创作的完全不一样。我喜欢用现在的方式创作音乐。
It's one of the two main reasons I created this style of music. I really didn’t like being in bands, I was alway the most ambitious member that felt slowed down by others. The second reason is because I write full songs in my head. I grew tired of songs not sounding anything I created in my head. I love creating music they way that I do now.
V: 你们乐队的歌曲在录音方面非常出色，你们是在哪个录音室录制的专辑？哪位制作人制作了你们的专辑？
Your band's songs are excellent in terms of recording, which studio did you record the album at? Which producer produced your album?
A: 很高兴听到你喜欢我的母带。我特意把母带做得很响，也就是制造出80年代贫民窟爆破音的效果。我觉得因为有低音音乐的元素，所以我的母带很吵，我甚至可以在母带上缠绕轻微的失真。
Happy to hear that you like my masters. I purposely fry my masters, meaning they are loud and it creates an 80’s ghetto blaster sound. I think because of the bass music element, my masters are noisy and I can even wrap a light distortion around my masters.
V: 你们已经发行了一些作品，目前只能在网上购买，你们有计划发行 CD 版本吗？
You've released a number of titles which are currently only available online, do you have any plans to release a CD version, and are you currently in contact with any regular labels to collaborate?
A: 我们发行自己的 CD，只在巡演时销售。下一次发行时情况可能会有所改变。
We release our own CD’s but we only sell them on tours. That could change with our next release.
V: 你们的Loho设计非常简单，但这种设计形式是我个人最喜欢的，因为我很容易就能记住你们的名字，这个Logo是谁为你们设计的？你们的专辑封面也很独特，是谁为你们设计的？
Your logo design is very simple, but this form of design is my personal favorite because I can easily remember your name, who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork is also very unique, who designed the artwork for you?
A: 我之前的项目使用的是那种看不懂的Black Metal乐队Logo，这给我带来了比我想象中更多的麻烦。我们选择了一种叫“Cathedral”的Black M效果很好，我也更喜欢简单的设计。
My previous project had one of those unreadable black metal band logos and that caused more problems than I thought. We choose a black metal called a cathedral and it works well. I prefer it simple too.
V: 你的音乐主题是什么？你为什么选择这个音乐主题，你想通过这个音乐主题表达什么？你们写过歌词吗？
What is the theme of your music about? Why did you choose this musical theme and what do you want to express through this musical theme? Did you write any lyrics parts and who wrote those lyrics?
A: 我们的歌曲大多是真实的犯罪谋杀故事，带有一丝神秘色彩。我们坚信人都有阴暗面，而艺术是表达阴暗面的最佳场所。因此“事物的阴暗面”是我们关注的焦点。我们正试图创造一种全新的声音，将Black Metal, Bass Music, Industrial和NU Metal融合在一起。我们的下一个版本将是我们之前任何作品的升级版。
Our songs are mostly true crime murder stories with a hint of the occult. We strongly believe a person has a shadow side and art is the best place for it’s expression. So the focus on the “dark side of things” is the focus. We are trying to create a brand new sound that infuses Black Metal, Bass Music, Industrial and NU Metal. Our next release will be an upgrade from anything we have done before.
V: 首先祝贺你们乐队今年最新发行的作品，你们的作品给我留下了深刻的印象，你们乐队中只有一名贝斯手和一名主唱，这使得你们的作品非常新颖，你们的作品混合了Black Metal和Death Metal的元素，黑暗、毒辣、凶猛，你对你们的作品有什么看法？
Firstly congratulations on your band's latest release this year, I'm very impressed with your work, you only have a bass and a singer in your band, which makes it very original, your work is a mix of Black / Death Metal, dark, venomous and ferocious, what do you think of your work?
A: 我喜欢Antania，它是过去所有项目的积累。它是Black Metal和Bass Music的真正融合，但却拥有完全独特的声音。在现场它能创造出最沉重的声音之一。现场的声音才会真正影响到人们。我从Meatl乐队的贝司手转变为Blackened Electronic 音乐的创作者。与贝司手相比我可以用合成器和失真技术创造出更多的音乐，这种风格让我真正找到了灵感。这听起来像我们用吉他但我们不用。我将失真踏板缠绕在贝斯上创造出我们的声音。不过我确实使用了失真踏板。
I love Antania, it’s the accumulation of all past projects. It’s a real merger of black metal and bass music yet it’s got a sound that is completely unique. Live it creates one of the heaviest sounds out there. It’s the sound live that really affects people. I went from being a bass player in metal bands to creating blackened electronic music. I can create so much more with synthesizers and distortion that I could playing bass. I have truly found my inspiration with this style. It’s sounds like we use guitars but we don’t. I wrap distortion pedals around sub bass to create our sound. I do use distortion pedals though.
V: 除了新专辑，你们在2024年还在那些新的共工作要进行，你可以向大家透露一些信息吗？
What are you guys working on in 2024 apart from the new album and can you reveal some information to people?
A: 我们刚刚与Psyclon Nine和Funker Vogt进行了巡演，下个月我们还要与Combichrist进行最后一次巡演，那将是我们2024年的最后一次巡演。我们还有一场与Hed PE合作的演出和二月份的巡演，目前还不能对外公布。2025年将是我们的重要一年。
We just toured with Psyclon Nine and Funker Vogt, we have one last tour with Combichrist next month and that will complete 2024 for us. We have a show with Hed PE and a February tour that we can’t advertise yet. 2025 is already geared to be a big year for us.
V: 你们参加过哪些音乐节，哪些音乐节给你们留下了深刻印象，能否向我们介绍一下音乐节的氛围，2024 年你们还将参加哪些音乐节？
What festivals have you been to, what festivals have impressed you and can you tell us a little bit about the atmosphere and what festivals do you have coming up in 2024?
A: 很遗憾，我们一直忙于巡演，自从2023年在西雅图的Mechanismus之后，我们就再也没有参加过音乐节了，我们希望能在2025年参加一些音乐节。
Unfortunately we have been busy touring and haven’t had a festival since Mechanismus in Seattle in 2023. We are hoping to end up on some festivals in 2025.
V: Antania是一支非常独特和有魅力的乐队，我会一直支持和关注你们的乐队，也希望通过这次采访能有更多的中国乐迷关注和支持你们的乐队，在采访的最后你有什么想对中国乐迷说的吗？
Antania is a very unique and charismatic band, I will always support and pay attention to your band, and I hope that through this interview more Chinese fans will pay attention to and support your band, do you have anything you would like to say to your Chinese fans at the end of this interview?
A: 我是一个在东方待了很长时间的人，已经去过中国两次了。我们很想在中国巡演，任何帮助对我们来说都是梦想。
I am someone that has spent a lot of time in the East and have been to China twice already. We would LOVE to tour China and any help with that would be a dream for us.
