在德国Industrial Metal的发展谱系中，Megaherz始终是一支难以被简单定义的乐队。自1993年成立以来，他们既见证了德语Industrial Metal从地下走向世界的历程，也在不断变化的时代中坚持着自己的表达方式。从早期粗粝而锋利的工业冲击，到如今兼具旋律性、戏剧感与现代制作理念的声音景观，Megaherz始终保持着对人性、社会与内心世界的关注。2026年7月，Megaherz即将在次开启中国巡演。在此之际，我们希望通过这次采访，深入探讨乐队三十余年的音乐旅程，以及那些隐藏在机械节拍与厚重失真背后的思想与情感。

In the history of German Industrial Metal, Megaherz has always been a band that defies simple categorization. Since its formation in 1993, the band has witnessed the rise of German Industrial Metal from underground scenes to international stages, while continuously maintaining its own artistic identity. From the raw aggression of its early years to the more melodic, cinematic, and modern soundscapes of today, Megaherz has consistently explored themes of humanity, society, and the inner self. In July 2026, Megaherz will embark on its first-ever China tour. On this occasion, we would like to discuss the band's more than three decades of musical journey and the ideas, emotions, and philosophies hidden beneath the mechanical rhythms and crushing guitar tones.

V: Megaherz成立于1993年，恰好处于德国Industrial Metal兴起的重要时期。回顾三十多年的发展历程，您认为Industrial Metal最核心的精神是什么？

Megaherz was founded in 1993, during a pivotal period for the rise of German Industrial Metal. Looking back on more than three decades of history, what do you believe is the core spirit of Industrial Metal?

M: 非常感谢本次专访邀约。其实这已经是我们第三次来华巡演了。第一次是2017年，当时我们就盼着能尽快重返中国，后续也早早敲定了巡演计划，不料新冠疫情打乱了一切。去年我们完成了第二次中国巡演，所有场次全部售罄。如今能在七月再度和中国乐迷相见，我们满心期待。

Thanks for having us for this interview. We are happy to say that this is already in fact our 3 rd China Tour. The first time has been in 2017. We wanted to come back asap, there were already plans made but then Covid hit. Last Year was our 2nd tour in China with sold out places for the first time and now we are happy to see you guys again in July.

V: Megaherz许多作品都涉及欲望、权力、孤独、身份认同以及社会异化等主题。哪些哲学、文学或社会学思想对您的创作影响最大？

Many Megaherz songs deal with themes such as desire, power, loneliness, identity, and social alienation. Which philosophical, literary, or sociological ideas have influenced your songwriting the most?

M: 我们认为，工业金属最迷人的内核，是融合截然不同音乐风格的探索欲。我们深受Kraftwerk乐队与传统重金属熏陶，同时十分喜爱Clawfinger。我们希望以极具德国本土特色的方式融合各类音乐内核，并用德语创作歌词。彼时Oomph、Rammstein与我们一同开辟全新曲风，德国媒体将这股浪潮命名为“Neue Deutsche Härte”，那段开拓全新音乐版图的岁月，至今回想起来依旧热血沸腾。

I think it was just the thrill to combine very different styles of music. We´ve heard Kraftwerk and knew the old metal, we adored Clawfinger and we wanted to combine the spirit of this music in a very german way with german lyrics. With bands like “Oomph” and “Rammstein” and us it was a very exciting beginning of something new which called the german press “Neue Deutsche Härte”.

V: 在创作歌词时，您更关注个人经验还是社会观察？两者之间如何取得平衡？

When writing lyrics, do you focus more on personal experience or social observation? How do you find a balance between the two?

M: 我们始终保持敏锐的观察力，至少一直在努力做到这点。归根结底，所有创作都会回归最朴素的人间百态。你可以在歌里剖析复杂的社会议题，或是一段满目疮痍的亲密关系，但最终我们落笔的落脚点，永远是那些简单纯粹的事物：拥有挚友、认清心底真实的执念。是什么驱动你前行？是什么让你愿意为之奋力抗争？除此之外，我们数十年人生里亲身经历的种种伤痛，也都会化作创作的素材，直白袒露在作品之中。

We keep our eyes open, or at least are trying to! It always comes down to the simple things. You can discuss complex social problems or having a hell in a relationship but in the end we always come back to the simple things like have good friends, find the truth of the passions in yourself. What motivates you? What are the reasons that triggers you to fight for something? And of course we put our fingers in every wound we experienced in our long lives.

V: 德国Industrial Metal往往带有鲜明的本土文化气质。德国社会与工业传统对Megaherz产生了哪些深远影响？

German Industrial Metal often carries a distinct cultural identity. How have German society and the country's industrial heritage influenced Megaherz throughout the years?

M: 二者兼顾，具体取决于歌曲主题。如果是讲述亲密关系的曲目，内容一定源于亲身经历，唯有真实体验，才能写出有说服力的文字。但倘若作品聚焦社会议题或是复杂现实，那便是个人经历与外部观察的结合体。我们心中自有观点，也希望借歌曲传递这份看法，但如我所说，所有表达都建立在客观现实与常识之上。

Balancing both depends on the theme of the song. If it is a song about intimate relationships, the content must be based on personal experiences. Only through real experiences can persuasive words be written. But if the work focuses on social issues or complex realities, it is a combination of personal experiences and external observations. We have our own opinions in our hearts and hope to convey them through songs, but as I said, all expressions are based on objective reality and common sense.

V: 德国工业金属自带鲜明的本土文化烙印。长久以来，德国社会风貌与本国厚重的工业历史，对Megaherz产生了怎样的影响？

German industrial metals have a distinct local cultural imprint. What impact has the long-standing social landscape and rich industrial history of Germany had on Megaherz?

M: 其实这种关联更多是外界赋予的解读。我们所有人都出身普通家庭，过着平淡日常，只是热爱音乐，也对周遭环境有着深刻感知。在外人听来，德语发音硬朗、直白，与金属乐气质高度契合；再叠加电子舞曲——另一项源自德国的音乐产物，便能打造出纯正工业质感的曲目。但我们乐队里没有人曾在煤矿或是工厂做工，所谓工业背景并非我们的亲身经历。

In fact, this association is more of an interpretation given by the outside world. We all come from ordinary families and lead mundane lives, but we love music and have a deep understanding of our surroundings. To outsiders, German pronunciation is tough and straightforward, highly compatible with the metal music temperament; Adding electronic dance music - another musical product originating from Germany - can create tracks with pure industrial texture. But no one in our band has ever worked in a coal mine or factory, so the so-called industrial background is not our personal experience.

V: 一首Megaherz歌曲通常是如何诞生的？是从吉他Riff、电子元素、歌词概念还是其他灵感开始？

How does a Megaherz song usually begin? Does it start with a guitar riff, an electronic element, a lyrical concept, or something else entirely?

M: 每首歌的创作起点各不相同。常规流程是Christian完成全部编曲，发给我之后，我再填写歌词、设计人声旋律；但有时我会先录下带歌词的清唱旋律发给克里斯蒂安，由他为旋律搭配编曲。我们的创作流程没有固定顺序，全程充满自由的创意碰撞。

The starting point for creating each song is different. The usual process is for Christian to complete all the arrangements, send them to me, and then I will fill in the lyrics and design the vocal melody; But sometimes I would first record a cappella melody with lyrics and send it to Christian, who would then arrange and match the melody. Our creative process has no fixed order and is full of free creative collisions throughout.

V: 您认为优秀的Industrial Metal编曲最重要的元素是什么：节奏、氛围、旋律还是声音设计？

In your opinion, what is the most important element of a great Industrial Metal arrangement: rhythm, atmosphere, melody, or sound design?

M: 你提到的每一项都缺一不可。但一段出色的吉他riff，搭配极具冲击力的专属吉他音色，是整首作品的基石。有了这个基础，节奏与氛围感会自然而然应运而生。

Every element you named is important. But a good guitar riff combines with a freaking sound that complete the guitar is a good beginning. The rhythm and atmosphere comes with it automatically.

V: 随着数字技术的发展，制作工具变得越来越先进。您觉得现代技术给音乐创作带来了哪些机遇和挑战？

As digital technology continues to evolve, music production tools have become increasingly powerful. What opportunities and challenges has modern technology brought to music creation?

M: 我们认为数字化发展是一把双刃剑。一方面，创作选择变得更多，制作流程也大幅简化；但另一方面，如今大量音乐听感趋同，很难再有辨识度。真正的难点在于，善用科技的同时，不能丢掉独属于自己的创作灵魂，必须守住乐队独一无二的音乐特质。

I think the development is a double-egded sword. In one way it gives you more opportunities and makes the production easier but in the same way music sounds more generic and less extraordinary. The challenge is to use this technology without sacrificing the spirit of your own creativity in the process. You need to keep up your own unique element.

V: 您认为工业金属吉他手最重要的能力是什么？

What do you think is the most important ability for an Industrial Metal guitarist to possess?

M: 我认为核心是营造深邃、阴郁的氛围感，再在riff响起的瞬间完成情绪爆发。工业金属的精髓，在于将重击感十足的合成器、空灵缥缈的氛围音效，与厚重磅礴的吉他音墙融为一体，这才是工业金属拥有生命力的关键。

Well, I guess it is the ability to create those deep dark atmospheres that explode when the Guitar Riff comes in... It is about the way to combine hard hitting synths, maybe etherial atmospheres and those huge wall of guitars. That's what makes industrial metal breath.

V: 在现场演出与录音室制作之间，您更喜欢哪种状态？为什么？

Between live performance and studio production, which environment do you personally prefer, and why?

M: 永远是现场演出，毋庸置疑。舞台才是纯粹享受音乐的地方。写歌创作更像一份工作，你需要不断和自我博弈，才能打磨出新作品。即便最终成品能带来成就感，但创作过程满是煎熬与自我拉扯。

Always the live environment. Always! It´s more the fun part. I love being on stage. The process of writing music is always work and a bit of a fight with yourself to create something new. In the end, it's rewarding, but the road to get there is always paved with sweat and tears.

V: 这是Megaherz来到中国的重要巡演。对于中国乐迷，乐队最期待看到什么？

This will be an important China tour for Megaherz. What are you most looking forward to experiencing with Chinese fans?

M: 我最爱凝视台下观众的脸庞，能清晰感受到大家迸发的热忱与能量。舞台上的互动就像一场双向奔赴的游戏：我输出能量，台下的乐迷又将热情回馈给我。我们早就听说中国乐迷听我们的音乐时会尽情释放，对此我们无比期待。

I love to look in the faces of my audience. You can feel the passion and the energy. It's like a game between them and me. I give energy, and I get it back from the audience. And we know Chinese crowds can go crazy with our music. We enjoy that very much.

V: 您是否了解中国的金属乐文化？有没有让您印象深刻的中国乐队或音乐人？

Are you familiar with the Chinese Metal scene? Are there any Chinese bands or musicians that have left a strong impression on you?

M: 坦白说目前接触不多。但身边朋友告诉我，国内金属乐发展势头正盛，希望这次巡演能有机会聆听更多本土作品，我十分期待。

Unfortunately, not yet. But I've heard from friends that things are moving forward, and hopefully we'll hear something soon. I'm really looking forward to it.

V: 最后，请用一句话概括今天的Megaherz，以及您对未来的期待。

Finally, if you could describe today's Megaherz and your hopes for the future in just one sentence, what would it be?

M: 我只希望能和乐队伙伴延续这数十年的快乐，持续创作出优秀的音乐作品，于我而言，这就足够了。

I just want to keep having as much fun with the guys as I’ve had over the past few decades and continue writing great songs. That would be enough for me.
