今天采访到的是来自丹麦的Thrash Metal乐队Hell's Domain组建于2007年的Hell's Domain最初由Lars与Bjørn组建，最初Lars希望重新组建他的Crionic乐队，Crionic乐队是丹麦80年代丹麦最出色的Thrash Metal乐队之一，1986年录制的经典试听带在后世广受赞誉。但是最终失败，所以他们两个人决定组建一支全新的乐队，在翻看Slayer的歌词时候发行了Hell's Domain这个短语，所以Lars与Bjørn决定以这个短语命名自己的乐队，在组建之后乐队并没有马上发行作品，而是寻找其他的成员加入乐队，2008 - 2010年期间鼓手Anders和歌手Alex加入了乐队，此刻乐队完成了阵容的升级并且在2011年发行了第一张Demo作品，2013年乐队意大利Punishment 18 Records厂牌发行了第一张正式专辑“Hell's Domain”，如果你喜欢Artillery乐队那么一定要留意这支乐队，在第一张正式专辑获得好评之后，乐队并没有继续发行作品，直到今年乐队才发行了第二张正式专辑“Terminal State”，在新专辑发行之际杂志通过Punishment 18 Records厂牌与乐队取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today we're interviewing Hell's Domain, a thrash metal band from Denmark. Formed in 2007, Hell's Domain was initially founded by Lars and Bjørn. Lars originally intended to revive his band Crionic, one of Denmark's most prominent thrash metal acts of the 1980s. Their classic 1986 demo tape remains highly acclaimed to this day. However, that effort ultimately failed. Consequently, the two decided to form an entirely new band. While reviewing Slayer's lyrics, they came across the phrase “Hell's Domain,” which inspired Lars and Bjørn to name their new project accordingly. After forming, the band did not immediately release any material but instead focused on recruiting additional members. Between 2008 -2010 saw the addition of drummer Anders and vocalist Alex, completing the lineup upgrade. They released their first demo in 2011, followed by their debut album “Hell's Domain” in 2013 via Italy's Punishment 18 Records. If you enjoy Artillery, keep an eye on this band. Following positive reception for their debut album, they remained inactive until releasing their second full-length album “Terminal State” this year. To coincide with the new album's release, our magazine connected with the band through Punishment 18 Records for an exclusive interview!

V: 你好兄弟，很高兴见到你，非常感谢你接受本次采访。我想这是贵乐队首次接受中国杂志的专访。首先请向所有中国乐迷和朋友们问好。Hell's Domain乐队成立于2007年，是拥有悠久历史的资深乐队。最初是谁提议组建这支乐队的？Hell's Domain这个名字有何寓意？

Hello brother, it's nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has accepted an interview from a Chinese magazine. First of all, let's say hello to all Chinese fans and friends. Hell's Domain band was founded in 2007 and is a long-standing band with a long history. Who initially proposed the formation of this band? What does the name Hell's Domain mean?

A: 你好！能与中国杂志建立联系真是太棒了！能为中国的金属乐迷们介绍斯堪的纳维亚Thrash Metal，实在令人兴奋。乐队构想源于2007年Lars与Bjørn的会面，当时他们计划重启Lars早年创立的Crionic乐队。Crionic是1980年代中期的一支Thrash Metal乐队，1986年录制的经典试听带在后世广受赞誉。不过重启Crionic的计划很快被搁置，转而决定组建新乐队创作全新音乐。Hell's Domain由此诞生。项目需要命名时，翻阅Slayer歌词时Hell's Domain的短语脱颖而出，便被选作乐队名。简单直接。

Hello and and how cool it is to connect with a Chinese magazine!.Awesome to get to shed some light on Scandinavian thrash for our Chinese metal brethren. The idea for the band came from meeting between Lars and Bjørn back in 2007 about reviving Lars’ old band called Crionic. Crionic was a thrash metal band in the mid 1980ies and did a classic demo in 1986 that has received a lot of recognition in later years. Anyway, the idea of reviving Crionic was quickly abandoned in favor of starting a new band with new music. So that was the beginning of Hell’s Domain. The project needed a name, so by going through some Slayer lyrics, the phrase “Hell’s Domain” stood out and was picked as the name. Plain and simple.

V: 你们乐队目前仅有Bjørn Bihlet与Lars Knudsen两位初代成员，其余成员均已更换。初代成员为何离开乐队？新成员是如何加入的？你对新成员的表现满意吗？

Your band currently only has Bjørn Bihlet and Lars Knudsen as the first generation members, and all other members have been replaced. Why did the first generation members leave the band? How did the new members join the band? Are you satisfied with the new member's job?

A: 这种说法并不完全准确。所有现任成员都是第一代成员，自乐队成立之初便参与其中。可能令人困惑的是，组建乐队耗费了数年时间。最初仅有两人创作歌曲长达数年。后来Ander加入担任鼓手，最终Alex成为主唱。现任四位成员共同参与了所有作品的创作并全程参与录音工作 :)

That is not entirely accurate. All current members are 1st generation members and have been a part of the band since it’s inception. The thing that may confuse a bit is, that it took a few years to put the band together. It started as a two piece just writing songs for a couple of years. Eventually a drummer was found in Anders and finally a vocalist in the form of Alex. The current four members have all been a part of writing every song we have ever done and participated on all recordings :)

V: 你们都是拥有丰富创作经验的音乐人。能否介绍你们的创作过程？相信你们的创作经历会为更多年轻音乐人带来启发！

You are all musicians with rich creative experience. Can you introduce your creative process? I believe your creative experience will bring inspiration to more young musicians!

A: 我们的创作方式或许与当今许多乐队相似。多数成员会在家中独立完成整首歌曲的Demo版本或部分乐段，随后全员集结进行集体打磨与精修。创作过程充满开放性——有时我们逐层堆砌歌曲结构，有时则由某个即兴乐句或节奏点燃整首作品的灵感火花。通常人声部分最后完成，但歌词与音乐的契合度也会重塑歌曲编排。因此整个过程充满流动性与生命力。在“Terminal State”专辑中，几首歌甚至因动态变化或人声与音乐的互动关系，在录音室最后一刻才定稿。典型例子是“Pulpit of Profit”。旋律和歌词是在某晚深夜于录音室即兴创作的，我们从未排练过或试录过。我们直接录制了主唱，添加了和声，专辑中呈现的正是那个真实捕捉的即兴瞬间。

We probably work the way many bands do nowadays. Most of us write either full song demos or song parts separately at home, and then we bring them together to develop and fine-tune as a band. The creative process is very open. Sometimes we build songs layer by layer, and other times a single riff or rhythm becomes the spark for everything else. Usually, the vocals come last, but how they fit into the music can also reshape the song arrangements . So it’s a very fluid and organic process. On Terminal State, a few songs even changed at the last minute in the studio because of dynamics or how the vocals interacted with the music. A good example is “Pulpit of Profit.” The melody and lyrics were written very late one evening in the studio — we never demoed it or tried it in the rehearsal room. We just tracked it, added some backing vocals, and what you hear on the album is that spontaneous moment captured for real.

V: 你们今年刚刚发行了第二张正式专辑，这张专辑的效果比首张专辑更加完美。请问是在哪家录音室完成录制的？由哪位制作人操刀制作？新专辑的录制过程是否顺利？

You just released your second official album this year, and the effect of this album is even more perfect than the first one. Which studio did you record the album in? Which producer made the album for you? Did the recording process of the new album go smoothly?

A: 我们在Antfarm录音室与Tue Madsen共同完成了鼓组和人声录制，他也负责了混音与母带处理。Tue简直令人惊叹。他曾与全球顶尖金属乐手合作过，这绝非偶然。他对细节的敏锐度无人能及。我们从未考虑过其他合作人选，从一开始就确信Tue是最佳人选。吉他和贝斯部分由Bjørn独立录制，混音时所有元素完美融合。整个录制过程非常顺利，我们全程都乐在其中。经历漫长的专辑空窗期后，我们带着未竟事业的执念和亟待释放的能量投入创作。这种饥渴感在专辑中清晰可闻。

We recorded drums and vocals at Antfarm Studio with Tue Madsen, who also handled the mix and master. Tue is simply amazing. He has worked with some of the biggest metal artists in the world, and there’s a reason for that. His ear for detail is unmatched. We never even discussed working with anyone else, we knew Tue was the right guy from the start. Guitars and bass were tracked separately, mainly by Bjørn, and then everything came together nicely in the mix. The recording process itself went great. We were basically just having a great time. After such a long break between albums, there was this feeling of unfinished business and a lot of energy that needed to come out. You can really hear that hunger on the record.

V: 你们的Logo设计非常简洁，我很容易记住你们的名字。这个Logo是谁设计的？你们的专辑封面设计也很精美，这些作品是谁设计的？

Your logo design is very simple, and I can easily remember your name. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artworks are also beautifully designed. Who designed these artworks for you?

A: 我们的Logo由吉他手Bjørn在乐队成立之初设计。我们想要一个醒目且易于记忆的图案——既能印在T恤上，也能用作海报，甚至刻在墙壁上。它必须兼具复古感与力量感。在设计与美术创作方面，我们始终依赖Bjørn的才华。

Our logo was created by our guitarist Bjørn back when the band started. We wanted something bold and easy to remember — something that worked on a T-shirt, on a poster, or scratched into a wall somewhere. It had to look old school but still powerful. When it comes to design and artwork we rely on Bjørn.

V: 你们乐队在2013年发行首张正式专辑后，直至今年才推出第二张正式专辑。为何多年未推出新作？

After releasing their first official album in 2013, your band has not released any new works until this year when they released their second official album. What is the reason why you haven't released any new works for many years?

A: 出道后，我们玩了很多节目，然后随着时间的推移，成员们搬家了，组建了家庭，加入了其他项目，其他优先事项接管了。 "Terminal State"的歌曲实际上写于2014年至2015年左右，我们甚至在那时开始录制。但有很多事情阻碍了我们：阵容的变化、时机的选择，以及生活的混乱。基本上就是这样，没有戏剧性。顺便说一句，安德斯和比约恩当时都发行了附带项目的专辑。

After our debut, we played a lot of shows, and then over time, members moved, started families, joined other projects, and other priorities took over. The songs for Terminal State were actually written around 2014–2015, and we even started recording them back then. But a lot of things got in the way : lineup changes, timing, and just the chaos of of life. That's basically it. No drama. Both Anders and Bjørn released albums with side-projects in that time by the way.

War, Addiction, Madness, The end of the world are the music themes of your band. Why did you choose such music themes? What do you want to express through such music themes? You also created the lyrics section. Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

Our lyrics have always reflected what we see around us. The darker side of humanity, the manipulation, greed, and self-destruction that keep repeating through history. We use war, addiction, and apocalypse as metaphors for that. It’s not just about fire and bombs — it’s about control, corruption, and the way people are drawn to destruction. I (Alex) write most of the lyrics with Bjørn, but everyone contributes ideas. I get inspired by world events, religion, disinformation, and how power is used or abused. A song like “Pulpit of Profit” is about how faith can be twisted into business. How something meant to give people hope and meaning can be turned into a tool for control, money, and power. It’s inspired by the spectacle around mega-churches, televangelists, and self-proclaimed saviors who sell salvation like a product.

It’s not an attack on personal belief but more a reaction to the hypocrisy of those who exploit it. The idea that people’s faith and desperation can be manipulated for someone else’s gain is both disturbing frightening. To take another example: Trail of Blood”,reflects millions of people forced to flee their homes due to war, corruption, and environmental collapse. The human price of global chaos. In the past, present and future. It’s about displacement, loss, and the fight for survival when systems fail. So even though our music and lyrics sounds dark and aggressive, there’s a deeper layer to it. It’s not about glorifying destruction. it’s about exposing it and asking people to think. It’s dark, yes — but if you look closely, there might be a little hope in there somewhere. Maybe it’s buried deep under all the noise, but it’s there. :)

V: 首先，祝贺贵乐队发行第二张官方专辑。你的作品给我留下了深刻的印象。强大的Riff贯穿了整张专辑，歌曲编排复杂而整洁。鼓手的表演非常出色，每个细节都非常精确。这位歌手的演唱也是整张专辑的亮点。你对自己的工作有什么看法？新专辑和旧专辑之间有什么变化？

First of all, congratulations to your band for releasing their second official album. Your work has left a deep impression on me. The powerful Riff runs through the entire album, and the song arrangement is complex and neat. The drummer's performance is excellent, and every detail is very precise. The singer's singing is also a highlight of the entire album. What is your opinion on your own work? What are the changes between the new album and the old album?

H: 非常感谢你！我们对Terminal State的结果感到非常自豪。我们从创作和录制第一张专辑中学到了很多，也从现场播放歌曲中学到了许多。我们试图把所有的学习都用于制作新专辑。总的来说，这是同样的地狱领域精神，只是有更多的沮丧需要发泄。作为这个乐队的歌手，我可以诚实地说，Bjorn, Lars和Anders是我有幸与之合作过的最好的成员之一。我们都不是最快、最极端、最紧张或最吵闹的，但我们都知道这首歌是第一位的，最终它是关于以态度、目的、技巧和能量来传达它的。对于地狱领域来说，这正是它应该有的样子。

Thank you very much! We’re really proud of how Terminal State turned out. We learned a lot from writing and recording the first album but also from playing the songs live. We have tried to channel all that learning into making the new album. Overall, it’s the same Hell’s Domain spirit, just with even more frustration that needed an outlet. As the singer in this band I can honestly say that Bjorn, Lars and Anders are among the best muscicans I have ever had the pleasure to work with. None of us are the fastest, most extreme tightest or loudest but we all understand that the song comes first and that ultimately it is about delivering it with attitude, purpose, skill and energy. For Hells domain this is exactly as it should be.

V: 作为一个老乐队，你参加过一些音乐节。哪些音乐节给你留下了深刻的印象？你能介绍一下当时的现场气氛吗？2025年还有其他音乐节邀请你参加吗？

As an old band, you have participated in some music festivals. Which music festivals have left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the live atmosphere at that time? Are there any other music festivals in 2025 that invite you to participate?

H: 我们目前没有任何计划，但如果能在我们的祖国上演一场像哥本哈根这样的戏剧节，那当然会很棒。

We currently have nothing planned but of course it would be amazing to a play a festival like Copenhell which happens to be in our homecountry.

V: 除了在2025年发行新专辑外，你还有什么新工作要做？你能和大家分享一些信息吗？

What new work do you have to do besides releasing new albums in 2025? Can you share some information with everyone?

H: 对不起，我不确定我是否理解了这个问题。乐队里的一些人有他们正在做的副业，我们每天都在副业赚钱。我们中的一些人在音乐行业工作，而另一些人则从事其他行业。

Sorry I am not sure I understand the question. Some people in the band have side projects that they are working on, and we all a day-job on the side to make money. Some of us work in the music industry while others are into other things.
