巴西作为金属大国孕育大量的优秀乐队，之前杂志也采访过很多来自巴西的优秀乐队，那么今天杂志再次为大家带来一支来自巴西的老牌乐队Papa Necrose，组建于2010年的Papa Necrose是巴西一支非常优秀的乐队，从组建至今已经发行了四张正式专辑，每一张专辑都受到了巴西和其他国家的歌迷赞美和关注，大量Old School Death Metal的Riff和优美的旋律，Solo让他们在巴西成为了非常受关注的乐队，今年乐队在中国的优秀厂牌Awakening Records发行了他们的最新专辑“Anthropomorphy Execution”也让这支乐队在中国得到关注，在新专辑发行之际杂志与乐队的吉他手Danilo取得联系进行一次专访！

As a major hub for metal music, Brazil has produced a wealth of outstanding bands. Our magazine has previously featured many excellent Brazilian acts, and today we’re bringing you another veteran band from Brazil: Papa Necrose. Formed in 2010, Papa Necrose is a highly acclaimed Brazilian band that has released four full-length albums to date. Each album has garnered praise and attention from fans in Brazil and around the world. Their abundance of Old School Death Metal riffs, coupled with beautiful melodies and solos, has made them a highly sought-after band in Brazil. This year, the band released their latest album, “Anthropomorphy Execution,” through the renowned Chinese label Awakening Records, which has also brought them attention in China. To mark the release of this new album, our magazine reached out to the band’s guitarist, Danilo, for an exclusive interview!

Hello brother, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, I would like to say hello to all Chinese fans and friends. Papa Nesse band was founded in 2010 and is a very experienced old band. How did you form this band in the first place?

D: 能与中国同志兄弟们交谈，我感到非常荣幸。我们对中国人民以及中国政治体制对劳动者的重视抱有由衷的敬意。我们的梦想是，有朝一日巴西也能像你们一样，对本国人民给予近乎同等程度的尊重。Papa Necrose通常将2010年作为乐队成立年份，但在此之前，相关计划早已开始酝酿。起初我们作为一支朋克硬核乐队起步，后来演变为鞭击核。主唱亚历山德罗的加入对这种风格转变至关重要，如今我们在无数层面融入了Death Metal元素。我可以肯定地说，这种转变自2007年起便已开始。这始终是一支由朋友组成的乐队，我认为这正是乐队能够长久坚持、从未停歇的关键所在。如今，除了是朋友，乐队更像一个大家庭，我们共同经历生活中的大大小小，而每个成员的存在都让我们之间的纽带愈发牢固。我们经历过几次阵容变动，但在每一阶段，都有朋友和兄弟为我们的旅程做出了巨大贡献，至今我们仍与他们保持着密切联系。

It is a great pleasure to be able to speak to our comrade brothers from China. We have total respect for the Chinese people and the way workers are valued by the political bias of their country. Our dream is that one day Brazil can have a level of respect for its people close to what already happens with you. Papa Necrose usually presents its founding year as 2010, but things were already being planned well before that. When we started as a Punk Hardcore band, it later evolved into Thrash Core. The entry of our vocalist Alessandro was crucial for this change of style, and today we are permeating Death Metal in countless ways. I can easily say that this has been the case since 2007. It has always been a band of friends, and I believe that this was crucial for the band to have lasted so long without ever stopping. Today, in addition to being friends, the band is a family, where we experience personal events, and the presence of each one helps us to keep this bond ever stronger. We've had several different formations, but in all of them we've had friends and brothers who contributed greatly to our journey, and we still maintain close contact with all of them today.

V: 2015年和2022年你们更换了两名新成员后，为什么第一代成员会离开乐队？新成员是如何加入乐队的？你对新成员的表现满意吗？

Why did the first generation members leave the band after you replaced two new members in 2015 and 2022? How did the new members join the band? Are you satisfied with the new member's work?

D: 我们经历的第一个重大变动是原阵容中Diego和Udson两兄弟的离开。他们为我们的音乐之路做出了巨大贡献，录制了我们的首张试听带，这对我们相互了解至关重要。此后，人员变动较为局部，主要集中在鼓手位置——这是最难替换的环节；我认为无论在世界哪个地方都是如此。如今的阵容是最团结、最稳固的。乐队成员全情投入，我们在创作上拥有充分的技术自由，这也是我们迄今为止最专业的阵容。

The first major change we had was from the original lineup with brothers Diego and Udson. They contributed immensely to our journey, recording our first demo, which was important for us to understand each other. After that, the changes were more specific, mainly in the drums, which is the most difficult part to replace; I think that's the case anywhere in the world. The lineup we have today is the most cohesive and solid. We manage to get 100% commitment from the band, we have the technical freedom to create what we want, and it's the most professional lineup we've ever had.

V: 你们的乐队成立于2010年，但作品直到2014年才发布。是什么原因让你们选择在4年后才发布作品？

Your band was founded in 2010, but your works were only released in 2014. What caused you to choose to release your works 4 years later?

D: 其实这与其说是选择，不如说是受限于资源匮乏。当时我们的资金非常紧张，为了筹集资源不得不拼命工作（至今仍是如此）。好不容易攒下些钱后，我们才得以选择录音地点，但当时尝试在现已倒闭的Incrust录音室录制，结果一切都出了岔子，让我们蒙受了损失。后来我们采纳了一些建议，尝试了Clan Studio，在那里制作了"Driven to Evil"Demo，这是至今仍令我们引以为豪的作品。我们在那里付出了很多。

Actually, it was more a matter of scarcity of resources than a choice. We were very financially limited, and to get resources we had to work hard (it's still like that today). When we managed to save some money, we were able to choose a place to record, but we suffered a loss because we tried to record at the now-defunct Incrust studio and everything went wrong. We followed some recommendations and tried Clan Studio, where we produced the Driven to Evil demo, a work we're proud of to this day. We delivered a lot there.

V: 你们乐队的每位成员都是拥有丰富创作经验的音乐人。能否介绍一下你们的创作过程？我相信你们的创作经验会给更多年轻音乐人带来启发！

Each member of your band is a musician with rich creative experience. Can you introduce your creative process? I believe your creative experience will bring inspiration to more young musicians!

D: 我们一直有着深厚的默契，即使在创作时也是如此；每个人都参与了创作过程，但在这一张专辑中，90%的功劳都归功于我们的鼓手Luquian。当然，歌曲的结构和创作方法遵循了我们既有的标准，因为要最终确定一首歌，需要得到所有人的认可，但我们信任Luquian并给予了他完全的支持和创作自由。Luquian是一位音乐天才；他不仅以极强的责任感演奏鼓，还是一位出色的吉他手、令人惊叹的贝斯手并且能驾驭任何他想演奏的乐器。他同时也是一位专业且极具责任感的音响工程师。我们为他成长为这样的专业人士感到非常自豪，这也是我们历史的一部分，因为Luquian是我们吉他手Carlos的儿子，我们一直密切关注着他的成长。Papa Necrose是一个真正的大家庭。

We've always had a great camaraderie, even when composing; everyone participated in the creative process, but on this album, 90% of the effort was put in by our drummer, Luquian. Of course, the structure and composition method followed the metrics we already used, because to finalize a song, it needs everyone's approval, but we trusted Luquian and gave him total support and compositional freedom. Luquian is a musical genius; he not only plays drums with extreme responsibility but is also an excellent guitarist, an incredible bassist, and can play any instrument he wants. He's also a professional and very responsible sound engineer. We are very proud of the professional he has become, and this is part of our history because Luquian is the son of our guitarist Carlos, and we've closely followed his growth. Papa Necrose is a true family.

Your logo design is both complex and simple, very innovative. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artworks are designed very abstractly. Who designed these album artworks for you? What does his inspiration come from?

We were able to actively participate in this artistic process because the main artist behind our artwork is our longtime friend Emerson Bugtrog. We brainstormed the artwork, added details with a written script and sketches, and then handed it over to the artist. This was the case with the artwork for the Driven to Evil demo, our album The Souls Collector Vatican, the Open Infected Body EP, the logo, and our coat of arms. All of these were created by Bugtrog. The artwork for the mini-album The Infected Fucking Church was acquired by the label My Dark Desires, we have exclusive artwork for the shirts created by Paulo Splatter from São Paulo, and Anthropomorphy Execution was acquired by Awakening Records. We always try to address the figure of the rotten Pope; he is our mascot and perfectly embodies our lyrical themes.

V: 人类、反强化、战争、死亡、害虫是你们的音乐主题。为什么选择这些主题？你们想通过这些主题表达什么？你们还创作了歌词部分。这些歌词是谁写的？创作灵感来自哪里？

Mankind, Anti reinforcement, War, Death, Pests are your music themes. Why did you choose this music theme? What do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

D: 我们探讨一些普遍性主题，我们认为这些主题属于天主教会所行使的平行权力范畴。战争由梵蒂冈的金库资助。纳粹主义曾受到天主教会鼓动，世界权力的掌控者就在意大利。资本主义操纵者由梵蒂冈提供资金。我们将所有的人道主义危机都归咎于天主教实体，其罪行远超我们所能控诉的范围。如果梵蒂冈愿意，它完全可以根除世界饥饿，但对他们而言，信仰救世主比解决现实的社会问题更有利可图。

We address general themes that we consider to be the responsibility of the parallel power exercised by the Catholic Church. Wars are supported by the Vatican's coffers. Nazism was encouraged by the Catholic Church, the owners of world power are in Italy. Capitalist manipulators are financed by the Vatican. We associate all humanitarian crises with the Catholic entity, and it goes far beyond what we have the creativity to denounce. If the Vatican wanted to, it could eradicate world hunger, but for them, belief in a messiah is more profitable than solving real social causes.

V: 你们乐队曾与许多优秀的唱片公司合作发行专辑。你们是如何与这些唱片公司建立联系并展开合作的？你对这些厂牌的工作满意吗？你们的新专辑在中国发行的。你们是如何联系并与中国厂牌合作的？

Your band has collaborated with many excellent labels to release albums. How did you establish contact with these labels for cooperation? Are you satisfied with the work of these brands? Your new album was released in China. How did you get in touch and collaborate with Chinese labels?

D: 我是与这家唱片公司运动的主要联络人，这是一个非常累人的过程，你会经历一些尴尬的处境，听到一些缺乏专业素养的人说出荒谬的话，包括我最初联系Awakening Records的Li，也是因为我受到了Memento Mori的恶劣对待。当时我正准备发行另一支乐队Rottenbroth的专辑，一切都已安排好通过Memento Mori发行，但就在专辑接近完成时，Raúl认为这张专辑变得一团糟并表示不再愿意发行。幸亏我心态成熟，我选择请他推荐其他厂牌，他推荐了Awakening Records，这对我来说简直是天赐良机。我们发行了Rottenbroth的专辑，这为Papa Necrose的发行铺平了道路。这次发行对我来说组织得更加周密，也更专注于我们艺术作品的市场拓展。这一点至关重要，因为我们的作品是专业的，我们需要建立的合作伙伴关系也必须是专业的，而与Awakening Records的合作正是如此。我们非常感谢Li Meng的耐心，因为我们知道，在如此遥远的距离下进行沟通并完成必要的流程并不容易，但我们对这次合作非常满意。我希望这种合作能够长久，并成为一个非常成功的案例。

I am the main contact with this record label movement, it's a very tiring process, you go through some embarrassing situations, you hear some absurd things from people who lack professionalism, including the way I started contacting Li from Awakening Records was through the terrible treatment I received from Memento Mori. I was releasing the album of my other band Rottenbroth and everything was set to release it through Memento Mori, but when we were close to finishing the album, Raúl thought the album had become crap and said he didn't want to release it anymore. My maturity helped me and I preferred to ask for a recommendation for another label and he recommended Awakening Records and it was one of the best things that could have happened to me. We released Rottenbroth and that served as a bridge to the release with Papa Necrose. The release for me was much more organized and focused on the market growth of our art, this is important because our work is professional and we need the partnerships we make to also be professional and with Awakening Records that happens. We are grateful for Li Meng's patience, as we know that communication from such a distance and the necessary processes are not easy, but we are very happy with our partnership. I hope it lasts and remains a very successful case study.

V: 首先恭喜你们乐队今年刚发行了新专辑。你们是一支出色的Old School乐队，拥有复古的Riff和旋律，编曲复杂，主唱那深沉而有力的歌声也令人振奋。你们对自己作品有什么看法吗？新专辑和旧专辑之间有什么变化吗？

First of all, congratulations to your band for just releasing a new album this year. You are an excellent old school band with retro Riff and melody, complex arrangement, and the singer's deep and powerful singing is also very exciting. Do you have any thoughts on your own works? Is there any change between the new album and the old album?

D: 乐队在每张录音作品中都会调整音乐风格，但我们竭尽全力保持其精髓。我们是Death Metal的狂热爱好者，我本人也聆听了所有与我们同期发行的乐队作品，它们都是非常棒的乐队。能被拿来与Obituary（Alessandro的嗓音隐约透出这种风格）、Death、Pestilence、Malevolent Creation等乐队相提并论，我们深感自豪。我们将竭尽全力，力求做到这些乐队成就的至少10%，这已足以让我们跻身全球顶尖行列。我们时刻都在聆听Old School Death Metal，这里可以列举一些只有该风格铁杆乐迷才能认出的乐队：Catacombs - Transgressor - Impetigo - Pentacle - Mortem - Gorguts - Darkified - Paralysis - Shub Niggurath 等。

The band has a change in musical approach with each recorded material, but we do everything to maintain the essence. We are fierce consumers of Death Metal, I myself have listened to all the bands that are being released along with ours, they are all awesome bands. We are proud to be compared to bands like Obituary (Alessandro's vocals bring this latent reference), Death, Pestilence, Malevolent Creation and we will strive to continue doing at least 10% of what these bands did, this already puts us on an incredible level worldwide. We listen to Old School Death Metal all the time and we can mention here bands that only the die-hard fans of the style will recognize: Catacombs - Transgressor - Impetigo - Pentacle - Mortem - Gorguts - Darkified - Paralysis - Shub Niggurath and etc.

V: 你参加过哪些音乐节或现场演出？哪些现成的演出给你留下了深刻印象？能否介绍一下当时现场演出的氛围？2026年你们乐队会有哪些新演出？

What music festivals or live performances have you participated in, and what ready-made performances have left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the atmosphere of the live performances at that time? What new performances will your band have in 2026?

D: 我们有过不少难忘的演出，但最让我印象深刻的是那次我不得不因出差而离开乐队。我们进行了高品质录音，并直接从调音台采集了音频。那是个特别的日子；演出地点是我们一些朋友拥有的摩托车俱乐部里一个较小的空间。现场座无虚席，演出场面令人震撼。我们还享受了在Palco do Rock音乐节上的首次演出。尽管主办方在制作上对乐队支持有限，但观众非常热情，我们也成功以高清画质录制了这场演出。今年，我们计划在全国巡演，向大家展示我们的作品。巴西幅员辽阔，对乐队来说巡演相当复杂，尤其是我们有五个人，但我们会尽最大努力。今年六月，我们将前往圣埃斯皮里图州演出（这名字挺有意思的，对吧？！），那里距离我们的家乡足有近2000公里。届时我们将与传奇乐队Impurity和Catacumba同台演出，Proffano的兄弟们也将到场助阵。这又将是一场由专业团队录制成DVD的演出。

We've had some memorable performances, but the one that marked me the most was when I had to leave the band for a work trip. We recorded in high quality and captured the audio directly from the mixing board. It was a special day; it was a smaller space in a motorcycle club owned by some friends of ours. The place was packed, and it was an overwhelming performance. We also enjoyed our first performance at the Palco do Rock festival. Even though the production lacked support for the band, we had an excellent audience, and we also managed to record the performance in HD. This year, we want to tour the country showcasing our work. Brazil is a gigantic country, and traveling for bands is complicated, especially since there are five of us, but we will do our best. This June, we will be playing in Espírito Santo (ironic, isn't it?!), which is almost 2,000 kilometers from where we are from. We will be performing with the legends Impurity and Catacumba, and we will have the presence of our brothers from Proffano. It will be another event with professional recording on DVD.

You are an excellent band, and I am also a loyal fan of your band. I will always pay attention to and support your band. I also hope to attract more Chinese fans to pay attention to and support your band through this interview. The interview is coming to an end, do you have anything you want to say to Chinese fans and friends at the end?

D: 我们非常感谢给予我们的这个平台。正如我之前所说，我们对贵国怀有巨大的敬意，无论是其制度性的政治理念，还是你们大多数人展现出的尊重态度，这种专注与投入都值得称赞。希望我们能让中国的重金属乐迷满意，说不定哪天，我们还能把南美死亡金属带到东方大地，那将是一个梦想成真的时刻，届时我希望能与你们一同在"Obituary - Slowly We Rot"的乐声中，畅饮一杯白酒。

We are grateful for the space given to us, as I said before, we have enormous respect for your country, both for its institutional political ideology and the respectful stance of most of you there, the focus and commitment are commendable. I hope we can please the Chinese headbangers and who knows, one day, take our South American Death Metal to the eastern lands, it would be a dream come true and I would love to have a white Baijiu with you to the sound of Obituary - Slowly we Rot.
