今天采访到的是来自美国的Melodic Groove Metal乐队Abitha，组建于2025年的Abitha乐队是一支非常年轻的乐队，由Rob一个人组建，组建之后Rob发行了三首单曲，已充满活力和优美的旋律著称，迅速吸引了一些歌迷的关注，2026年乐队发行了第一张EP专辑“Songs of Perdition”，这张EP专辑依旧延续了之前单曲的风格，精彩的Riff，优美的旋律，充满活力的Groove的元素，新作品发行之际杂志与乐队的创始人Rob取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today we’re interviewing Abitha, a melodic groove metal band from the United States. Formed in 2025, Abitha is a very young band founded by Rob alone. Since its inception, Rob has released three singles, which have gained recognition for their energetic and beautiful melodies, quickly attracting the attention of fans. In 2026, the band released their first EP, “Songs of Perdition.” This EP continues the style of their previous singles, featuring brilliant riffs, beautiful melodies, and energetic groove elements. To mark the release of this new work, our magazine reached out to the band’s founder, Rob, for an exclusive interview!

Hello Rob, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. This is your first time being interviewed by a Chinese magazine, right? First of all, let me say hello to all Chinese national anthem fans. In which year was Abitha band founded? How did you form this band?

R: 你好。很高兴认识你！是的，这确实是我第一次接受中国杂志的采访。我深感荣幸！Abitha成立于2025年。在与妻子深入探讨人生目标和梦想后，我决定启动这个项目。她充满爱意地鼓励我全身心投入其中。

Hey there. Nice to meet you too! Yes, this is definitely my first time being interviewed by a Chinese magazine. I’m honored! Abitha was created in 2025. I decided to create this project after having a deep conversation with my wife about life goals and dreams. She lovingly challenged me to go all in on this project.

V: 你是乐队里唯一的成员，所以可以按照自己的想法创作歌曲。能介绍一下你的创作过程吗？

You are the only one in the band, so you can create songs according to your own ideas. Can you introduce your creative process?

R: 当然！我总是从歌词开始。歌词对我来说极其重要，我不喜欢因为现有的旋律而限制歌词创作。写完歌词后，我会用原声吉他构思出歌曲的大致结构和人声旋律。我经常把最好的部分录成语音备忘录，以便日后回顾。

For sure! I always start with lyrics. Lyrics are extremely important to me and I don’t like the idea of limiting them due to an existing melody. After the lyrics, I come up with a general song structure and vocal melody on my acoustic guitar. I’ll often record the best parts as voice memos so I can come back to them later.

V: 你的作品录音效果非常出色。这张专辑是在哪家录音室录制的？由哪位制作人操刀制作的？在录制这张2026历史主题EP专辑的过程中遇到过什么困难吗？

Your works have excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record your album in? Which producer made the album for you? Are there any difficulties during the recording process of the 2026 historical EP album?

R: 谢谢！其实整张专辑都是由我自己在家里录制的。我用MacBook上的Logic Pro进行制作，录制时使用了Neural DSP Fortin Nameless X吉他音箱模拟器来处理重金属吉他音色，Neural DSP Parallax处理贝斯，Neural DSP Plini X处理清音吉他，以及Neural DSP Mantra进行人声处理。随后由我亲自进行混音和母带处理。没错，这个过程对我来说极其艰难。我之前从未制作过音乐，但真的很想学习如何操作。录制这张EP所花费的大部分时间并非用于创作歌曲或录制音轨——而是混音和母带处理。

Thank you! This whole album was recorded in my house by me, actually. I use Logic Pro on my Macbook and record using the Neural DSP Fortin Nameless X amp sim for heavy guitar, Neural DSP Parallax for bass, Neural DSP Plini X for clean guitar and Neural DSP Mantra for vocal processing. Then I mix and master. And yes, this was an extremely difficult process for me. I had never produced music before but I really wanted to learn how to do it. The bulk of the time it took to record this EP was not from the songwriting or laying down tracks—it was the mixing and mastering.

V: 你的音乐主题是什么？为什么选择这个主题，又想通过它表达什么？你还创作了歌词部分，这些歌词的灵感来自哪里？

What is the theme of your music about? Why did you choose this music theme, and what do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. What inspired these lyrics?

R: 这是我最喜欢的问题。我开始创作这些音乐的初衷，正是为了展现我脱离基督教信仰的经历和整个历程。我是在摩门教（基督教的一个要求极高的分支）环境中长大的，并为此奉献了毕生精力，直到我再也无法认同其所谓的真理主张。这张EP就是我“解构”历程的“日记”。

This is my favorite question. The whole reason I started writing this music was to illustrate my experience and overall journey out of my Christian faith. I was raised Mormon (which is a high-demand branch of Christianity) and devoted my life to it until I could no longer reconcile its claims of truth. This EP is my “journal entry” of my deconstruction.

V: 你们乐队的标志设计非常简洁，但这种设计风格恰恰是我最喜欢的，因为这样我很容易记住你们的名字。这个标志是谁设计的？你们的专辑封面设计也很精美，但能看出一些AI设计的痕迹。这些专辑封面是谁设计的！？

Your band logo design is very simple, but this design form is my personal favorite because I can easily remember your names. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork is also beautifully designed, but there are some traces of AI design. Who designed these album artworks for you!?

R: 我的作品中没有使用人工智能。抱歉，我只是想在回答开头先说明这一点。我不支持在艺术中使用人工智能。这个标志和专辑封面都是我使用iPad Pro上的Procreate应用设计并创作的。专辑封面是在该应用上自由手绘完成的。除了是音乐人，我还是位油画和丙烯画画家（感兴趣的话可以在Instagram上关注@robertpainings），所以我以创作真正的艺术为荣。没错，我也喜欢这个标志。我不认为我的音乐风格够重，需要一个难以辨认的标志。

My artwork does NOT use AI. Sorry, I just wanted to put that at the beginning of my answer. I do not support AI in art. The logo and album cover were designed and created by me using the Procreate app on my iPad Pro. The album cover was drawn on that app freehand. On top of being a musician, I am also an artist who paints in oils and acrylics (@robertpainings on Instagram if you are interested in seeing the art) so I take pride in making REAL art. And yes, I like the logo too. I don’t think my music is heavy enough to merit an unreadable logo.

V: 你目前发行的专辑都有数字版本。您是否考虑过与唱片公司合作发行CD版本？目前是否已与制造商接洽？

The albums you currently release have their own digital versions. Have you considered collaborating with a label to release CD versions? Have you currently been in contact with a manufacturer?

R: 虽然我很想尝试，但我还没做过。说实话，我完全不知道该从哪里下手。

I have not done that yet, though I would love to. Honestly, I have no idea where to start.

V: 首先，恭喜你今年发行了新专辑。这是一张旋律优美、充满活力且编曲精妙的作品。能感受到你在这张专辑上倾注了大量心血。你包揽了所有工作，让人真切感受到你是一位才华横溢的音乐人。你对自己这张作品有什么看法？

First of all, congratulations on the release of your new album this year. It is a melodious and energetic work with complex arrangements. You can feel that you have put a lot of effort into this album. You have taken care of all the work and can feel that you are a talented musician. What is your opinion on your own work?

R: 感谢大家的赞美！能得到他人的认可，对我来说意义重大。说实话，我对这张EP感到自豪，尤其是因为这是我的首张EP，综合来看音质相当不错。当然，制作上还可以更饱满、更精良，但这只是我可以在未来作品中改进的地方。我对此毫无遗憾。

Thank you for the kind remarks! It means a lot that others can see the effort. Honestly, I am proud of this EP, especially because it’s my first EP and it sounds pretty good, all things considered. Of course, the production could be fuller and better, but that’s just something I can apply to future releases. I have no regrets.

V: 除了发行新专辑之外，你还有哪些其他新计划？比如创作、录制一些新作品，以及未来继续发行它们？能和大家分享一些信息吗？

What other new work do you have to do besides releasing a new album? For example, creating, recording some new works, and continuing to release them in the future? Can you share some information with everyone?

R: 我有一首新单曲，希望能在这个月发布。这是一首调音较低、风格更重金属的歌曲，名为"Filth"，我对能发布这首歌感到无比兴奋。我的目标是每月发布一首新单曲。

I have a new single I am hoping to release this month. It’s a lower-tuned, heavier track called “Filth” and I am beyond stoked to release it. My goal is to get a new single released every month.

V: 虽然你们是一支非常年轻的乐队，但一直表现得非常出色。我会继续关注你们，也希望通过这次采访能获得更多中国乐迷的支持。采访即将结束，最后你们想对中国的乐迷和朋友们说些什么吗？

Although you are a very young band, you have always been an excellent band. I will continue to pay attention to your band and hope to gain more support from Chinese fans through this interview. The interview is coming to an end, do you have anything you want to say to Chinese fans and friends at the end?

R: 我只想说一声谢谢，非常感谢大家的聆听！知道有人愿意花时间听我的音乐，甚至喜欢它，这让我既感到欣慰又倍感谦卑。正是这份支持让我坚持下去。我真的希望我的音乐能在中国也广为传播！我不希望我的音乐只局限于美国，我希望它传遍世界各地！

All I want to say is thank you, thank you so much for listening! It’s gratifying and humbling to know that others take the time to hear my music and even enjoy it. It’s what keeps me going. And I really hope I can get some reach over there in China! I don’t want my music to be stuck in America. I want it everywhere!
