说到美国的Slam乐队我想大家一定会想起Cephalotripsy这支乐队，今天我就为大家采访到了美国著名的Slam乐队Cephalotripsy，说到Cephalotripsy这支乐队我相信中国的所有歌迷都非常的熟悉，Cephalotripsy组建于2003年，2006年发行了第一张Demo作品，虽然只有3首歌曲，但是还是受到了一致好评和关注，2007年在日本Amputated Vein Records厂牌发行的第一张正式专辑“Uterovaginal Insertion of Extirpated Anomalies”更是被誉为2007年Slam作品中最经典的专辑，也被很多年轻的乐队模仿，我想Cephalotripsy乐队完全不需要我做太多的介绍了，你是Slam这种2风格的歌迷，我相信你一定听过他们的作品，2012年乐队突然宣布解散，这让很多歌迷感到惋惜，时隔五年之后Cephalotripsy回归了，但是并没有发行过任何作品，2024年大家期盼已久的新专辑“Epigenetic Neurogenesis”也即将由乐队自己发行，Amputated Vein Records厂牌发行亚洲版专辑，在新专辑发行之际我为Cephalotripsy乐队的歌手Angel Ochoa进行了一次专访！

When it comes to American Slam bands I think you will definitely think of the band Cephalotripsy, today I have an interview with the famous American Slam band Cephalotripsy, when it comes to the band Cephalotripsy I believe that all the fans in China are very familiar with it, Cephalotripsy was formed in 2003 and released their first demo in 2006, although it only had 3 songs, it was still well received and noticed. I don't think I need to introduce Cephalotripsy, if you're a fan of Slam, I'm sure you've heard their work. In 2012 the band suddenly announced that they were disbanding, which left many fans feeling sorry for them. After five years Cephalotripsy returned, but without releasing any material, and in 2024 the long awaited new album "Epigenetic Neurogenesis" will be released by the band themselves, on the Amputated Vein Records. On the occasion of the release of the Asian version of the album on Amputated Vein Records, I did an interview with Cephalotripsy singer Angel Ochoa!

V: 你好Angel很高兴见到你，非常感谢你能参加这次采访，我想这是你们第一次接受中国杂志的采访，首先我想向你们中国的粉丝们问好，Cephalotripsy乐队成立于2003年，是一支历史悠久的老牌乐队，当初是谁发起成立这支乐队的？

Hello Angel nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview, I think this is the first time you guys have been interviewed by a Chinese magazine, first of all I would like to say hello to your fans in China, Cephalotripsy was formed in 2003, it's a band with a long history of veteran bands, who initiated the formation of this band in the first place?

A: 谢谢你邀请我们采访。Nicholas ochs创建头Cephalotripsy乐队的时间应该是在2003年。

Hey thank your for this interview. Nicholas ochs created Cephalotripsy back in 2003 I believe.

V: 你们乐队现在只剩下你一个第一代成员了，其他成员都退出了乐队，你们最后一次更换成员是在2021年，当时鼓手Albert Rios加入了乐队，第一代成员为什么退出乐队？新成员是如何加入乐队的？你们对新成员满意吗？

You are the only first generation member left in your band now, all the other members have quit the band, you last changed members in 2021 when drummer Albert Rios joined the band, why did the first generation members quit the band? How did the new members join the band? Are you happy with the new members?

A: 如果我没记错的话，我们是在2007年把Nich ochs踢出局的。作为音乐家，他没有进步，而且开始做出错误的选择。Forrest stedt,一个无论如何我都非常喜爱和尊重的人，他的生活中发生了其他事情，他想专注于他的工作，这是可以理解的。我认识Albert Rios很多年了，所以当Forres离开乐队时，我第一个想到的就是他。我对Albert加入Cephalotripsy三联症阵营感到非常高兴和欣慰。

We kicked Nich ochs out in 2007 if I remember correctly. He didn't progress as a musician and he started making bad choices. Forrest stedt, someone I have alot of love and respect for no matter what, he had other things going on with his life and wanted to focus on his work. Which is very understandable. I've known Albert Rios for Years so he was the first person I thought about when Forrest left the band. I am very happy and pleased about Albert being in the Cephalotripsy camp.

V: 你们的每一位成员都是经验丰富的音乐家，能否介绍一下你们的创作过程？我想你们的创作经验会给很多中国音乐人带来灵感。

Each of your members are experienced musicians, can you describe your creative process? I think your creative experience will be an inspiration for many Chinese musicians.

A: 每个人都为乐队带来了某种形式的创作才能，当然还有很多经验。这些素材很多都是2012年就有的，所以当我们有了新的阵容后，我们就必须从那里开始，继续对所有东西进行润色。

Everyone brings some form of creative talents to the band and of course alot of experience. Alot of this material has been around since 2012 so when we got the new line up, we just had to go from there and carry on with touching up on everything.

V: 你们乐队的录音非常棒，你们都是在哪个录音室录制专辑的？新专辑的录制过程顺利吗？

Your band's recordings are amazing, what studio did you all record your albums at? Is the recording process for the new album going well?

A: 新专辑绝对具有挑战性，尤其是录音过程。我们很高兴终于完成了这张专辑。

The new album was definitely challenging, especially the recording process. We are glad to have finally complete it.

V: 你们的Logo是由美国著名设计师Steve Crow为你们设计的，我知道你们是很好的朋友，他也为你们设计了专辑封面吗？你们今年发行的新专辑封面真的很漂亮！

Your logo was designed for you by the famous American designer Steve Crow, I know you guys are very good friends, did he design your album cover for you as well? Your new album artwork released this year is really beautiful!

A: 我从2005年加入Condemned开始就认识Steven Crow了。Steve是一个伟大的人，一个伟大的音乐家，一个心胸宽广的伟大的人。不，我们的专辑封面不是他设计的。

I've been knowing Steven Crow since 2005 when I first joined Condemned. Steve is such a great person, a great musician and a great person with a big heart. No, he did not design our Album cover.

V: 你们曾与Amputated Vein Records（日本）和Coyote Records（俄罗斯）发行过专辑，这两个厂牌都非常出色，你们是如何与这两个厂牌取得联系并进行合作的？我知道你授权 Amputated Vein Records发行亚洲版专辑，为什么你选择自己发行专辑？

You've released albums with Amputated Vein Records (Japan) and Coyote Records (Russia), both excellent labels, how did you get in touch with these two labels to collaborate? You are releasing the album on your own, I know you licensed Amputated Vein Records to release the Asian version of the album, why did you choose to release the album on your own?

A: Forrest当年与这两家唱片公司有过接触，所以我不太清楚事情的经过。这是很久以前的事了。我们想自己发行，因为我们想要这张专辑的版权，我们知道自己的能力，我们为这张专辑付出了很多心血，希望能为自己保留一切。

Forrest got in touch with these two labels back then. So I am not to certain of how it went. This was so long ago. We wanted to release it ourselves because we want the rights to it. We know of what we are capable of. We put in alot of hard work for this album and wanna make sure we keep everything for ourselves.

V: 抽象血腥、食人族是你的一些音乐主题，你为什么选择它们？你们还写过歌词，这些歌词是谁写的？

Abstract gore, Cannibalism are some of your musical themes, why did you choose them? You have also written lyrics, who wrote these lyrics and what inspired them?

A: 为专辑"Uterovaginal Insertion Of Extirpated Anomalies"写的歌词是Nick ochs和Forrest stedt很久以前写的。新专辑的歌词是Forrest写的，他离开乐队后我写了三首歌的歌词。从怪诞的肥胖症、实体、外星人......这就是你对我们新专辑的期待。

The lyrics that were written for the album "Uterovaginal Insertion Of Extirpated Anomalies" were written so long ago by Nick ochs and Forrest stedt. For our new album Forrest wrote the lyrics and when he left the band, I wrote 3 songs of lyrics. From Grotesque obesity, entities, aliens... thats what you can expect for our newer album.

V: 你们乐队在2012年发行了一张Spilt专辑后，选择停止了乐队的所有活动，直到2017年才选择重新开始活动，是什么意愿让你们停止了活动？又是什么让你们重新走到一起，开始重新活动？

Your band chose to stop all activity as a band after the release of a Spilt album in 2012 and didn't choose to restart activity until 2017, what was the willingness that led you to stop? And what made you guys get back together and start moving again?

A: 很简单... 我最后加入了Disgorge，我们非常活跃，与大乐队一起进行了不可思议的巡演，获得了我们需要的曝光度。能加入我最喜欢的乐队，和我的偶像们一起演出、巡演，我感到非常荣幸。2016年左右Disgorge不再活跃，Cephalotripsy开始重新振作起来。

It's very simple... I ended up Joining Disgorge and we were very active playing incredible tours with big bands and getting the exposure we need. It was such an honor to join my favorite band and play shows and go on tour with my idols. Around 2016 Disgorge wasn't active no more and Cephalotripsy started picking things up again.

V: 首先祝贺你们乐队今年发行了新专辑“Epigenetic Neurogenesis”，这也是你们时隔17年后的第二张正式专辑，我是你们乐队的忠实粉丝，我听过你们所有的作品，你们的作品给我留下了非常深刻的印象，你们的作品是Slam风格中最经典的作品，很多中国的乐迷一提到Slam风格就会提到你们乐队，这是一张100%的Slam作品，粘稠、低沉的riff、鼓点部分绝对让人印象深刻。你的作品是 Slam 风格中最经典的作品，很多中国歌迷一提到 Slam 风格就会提到你们乐队，100% 的 Slam 作品，粘稠、低沉的节奏，鼓声部分绝对是整张专辑中最棒的部分，你的演唱绝对是 Slam 风格中最经典的演唱，虽然我还没有听过新专辑的歌曲。但我相信新专辑绝对是 2024 年的经典专辑之一，你对自己的作品有什么看法吗？新专辑与旧专辑相比有什么变化吗？

First of all, congratulations to your band for releasing the new album "Epigenetic Neurogenesis" this year, it's also your second official album after 17 years, I'm a big fan of your band, I've listened to all of your work, and I'm really impressed by your work, your work is the most classic work in Slam style, many Chinese fans will mention your band when they talk about Slam style, it's a 100% Slam work, sticky, low riffs, drum parts are definitely impressive. Your work is the most classic work in Slam style, many Chinese fans will mention your band when they refer to Slam style, a 100% Slam work, sticky, low riffs, the drums are definitely the best part in the whole album, your singing is definitely the most classic singing in Slam style, although I haven't heard the songs of the new album yet, I've heard the songs of the new album, and I've heard the songs of the new album. But I'm sure the new album is definitely one of the classic albums of 2024, do you have any thoughts on your work? Has the new album changed from the old one?

A: 我可以说这张专辑有一些变化。Forrest离开乐队确实让我们付出了代价，我们必须从我们离开的地方重新开始并做出改变。Forrest对这张专辑有一个特定的概念，我们只能在音乐上和艺术上尽可能地即兴发挥。

I can say that there is some changes within this album. Forrest leaving the band did take a toll to where we had to pick up where we left off of and make changes from there. Forrest had a certain concept with this album and we just had to improvise musically and artistically as best as we could.

V: 你们的乐队参加过很多音乐节，也一直是音乐节上最值得关注的乐队，哪些音乐节给你们留下了深刻的印象，能描述一下音乐节的氛围吗？

Your band has played a lot of festivals and you're always the band to watch at festivals, what festivals have left a lasting impression on you and can you describe the atmosphere?

A: 很多很棒的演出、巡演和音乐节。很多令人难忘的美好回忆......但如果让我选择......那一定是land of brutality...... 印度尼西亚的苏卡布米，我想说的是，大约有10,000人观看了演出，现场的气氛和来自观众的能量简直令人难以置信。

So many great shows, tours and festivals. Alot of memorable, fond memories... but if I had to choose... it would have to be the land of brutality... Sukabumi in Indonesia. I would say around 10,000 people and the atmosphere, the energy from the crowd was just unbelievable.

V: 除了发行新专辑，你们乐队在2024年还会有什么新的尝试吗？我想你们会开始亚洲巡演吧？你们对这次亚洲巡演有什么期待？我记得你们之前在中国巡演过，你还记得中国巡演吗？

Are there any of those new endeavors that your band will be working on in 2024 besides releasing a new album? I think you're going to start touring Asia, right? What are you looking forward to on this Asian tour? I remember you guys have toured China before, do you still remember the China tour?

A: 是的，没错。老实说，能再次在亚洲演出是我的荣幸。我知道所有的演出都会很棒，而且歌迷们总是很支持你们。是的，中国当然很棒！这也是一场令人难忘的演出，观众非常热情。我迫不及待地想再去那里。

Yes that is correct. Honestly, just playing in Asia again is an honor. I know all the shows are going to be great and the fans are always supportive. Yes of course, China was great! Also a very memorable show with a great crowd. I can't wait to go back there again.

V: Cephalotripsy绝对是Slam类型中最经典的乐队之一，你们在中国有无数的粉丝，我也是你们的忠实粉丝，我会一直支持和关注你们，我希望未来能看到你们再次来到中国，很多中国粉丝都很期待你们的访谈，最后你们想对中国粉丝说些什么？

Cephalotripsy is definitely one of the most classic bands in the Slam genre, you guys have countless fans in China, I'm a big fan and I'll always support and follow you guys, and I hope to see you guys visit China again in the future, and your interviews are looked forward to by a lot of Chinese fans, what would you like to say to your Chinese fans in the end?

A: 非常感谢你们这些年来的支持。我和Cephalotripsy非常感谢！我们期待着再次来中国演出，与中国歌迷见面并再次与你们交谈和见面。
