腐败的国度 - 美国Grind / Goregrind乐队Decay Country专访

今天采访到的是来自美国的单人Gore / Grind乐队Decay Country，组建于2024年的Decay Country乐队由Gabriel Stokes一个人成立并且在2024年发行了多张专辑作品，采样的动画配乐之后是混乱的，刺耳的riff，甚至还有加入一些电子元素，会让大家想起Fluids, Pharmacist, Festerdecay, Viscera Infest, Cattle Decapitation, Carcass, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship, Schoolgirl Upon Thy Corpse, Larry Wang, Kawaii Utaucide, Prophetic Execution, Hive Of The Mantids, Pyometra这类乐队，由于Gabriel Stokes非常喜欢动漫，所以他也把自己的音乐称之为Anime Grind / Goregrind风格，在前不久乐队的创始人Gabriel Stokes与杂志取得联系进行了一次采访！

Today's interview is with Decay Country, a one-man Gore / Grind band from the U.S. Formed in 2024, Decay Country was founded by Gabriel Stokes and released several albums in 2024, sampling animated soundtracks followed by chaotic, ear-piercing riffs, and even a few electronic elements that remind us of Fluids, Pharmacist, Festerdecay, Viscera Infest, Cattle Decapitation, Carcass, Dehumanising Itatrain Worship, Schoolgirls, and more. The electronic elements will remind you of Fluids, Pharmacist, Festerdecay, Viscera Infest, Cattle Decapitation, Carcass, Dehumanising Itatrain Worship, Schoolgirl Upon Thy Corpse, Larry Wang, Kawaii Utaucide, Prophetic Execution, Hive Of The Mantids, Pyometra, etc. Gabriel Stokes also calls his music Anime Grind / Goregrind due to his strong love of anime. Goregrind, the founder of the band Gabriel Stokes got in touch with the magazine for an interview!

V: 你好Gabriel Stokes先生很高兴见到你，非常感谢你参加这次采访，我想这是你第一次接受中国的杂志的采访，首先向中国的歌迷问好，Decay Country是哪一年成立的？你是怎么想到组建乐队的？

Hello Mr Gabriel Stokes it's a pleasure to meet you and thank you so much for taking part in this interview, I think it's the first time you've been interviewed by a Chinese magazine, first of all say hello to the Chinese fans, in what year was Decay Country formed? How did you come up with the idea for the band?

G: 来自美国的问候！非常感谢你们邀请我来采访！我在2024年创建了Decay Country，我创造它的想法是普及Anime Slam，我现在是一个Animegrind/Goregrind乐队。

Hello from the United States! Thank you so much for having me here! I created Decay Country in 2024, I created it with the idea of popularizing anime slam, fast forward and I am now a animegrind/goregrind band.

V: 乐队只有你一个人，我认为这让写歌变得很容易，因为你可以按照自己的方式写歌，你是怎么写歌的？你能描述一下你写歌的过程吗？

The band is just you and I think that makes it very easy in terms of songwriting because you can write the songs the way you want to, how do you write the songs? Can you describe your songwriting process?

G: 很好的问题!我先做一个主要的riff，对于歌曲中其他的riff，我要么把主要的riff删掉，要么做另一个听起来相似的riff。我总是先录吉他，这样更容易制作节拍和节奏。

Amazing question! I work on making a main riff and for the rest of the other riffs in the song I either slam up the main riff or do another riff that sounds similar. I always record guitar first, it much easier to make a beat and rhythm from that.

V: 你的唱片还是很棒，你是在哪个录音室录制这张专辑的？你的专辑是哪个制作人制作的？

Your recordings are still excellent, what studio did you record the album in? Which producer produced your album?

G: 我实际上是在我的房间里用我的手机录音，哈哈，我通常自己制作歌曲！

I actually record in my room with my phone haha, and I produce the songs myself!

V: 你的音乐主题是关于动漫，病理的，你为什么选择这个音乐主题，你想通过这个音乐主题表达什么？

Your music theme is about anime, pathology, why did you choose this music theme and what do you want to express through this music theme?

G: 很好的问题!对于动画，我是Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship的忠实粉丝，我想根据他们的主题制作动画主题音乐，我做的音乐越多，我就越融入动画，哈哈。病理学方面，我喜欢Goregrind，我是Gore collages的忠实粉丝，我喜欢医学主题，我想很大一部分原因是我叔叔是一名神经外科医生！我觉得我想传达的信息是拥抱动漫迷，让更多的人成为医生！

Amazing question! For the anime, I am a big fan of Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship, and I wanted to make anime themed music based off of their themes, the more I do the music the more into anime I get ha ha. and for the pathology, I love Goregrind, and I am a big fan of the Gore collages, I love medical themes, and I think a big part of it is my uncle who is a neurosurgeon! I feel like the message I want to send is embrace being anime obsessed, and to make more people become doctors!

V: 你的logo设计非常符合Grindcore的这个风格，这个logo是谁为你设计的？你的专辑封面大部分是关于动漫、尸体等，这与你的音乐主题非常契合，谁为你设计了这个封面？

Your logo design is very much in line with this style of Grindcore, who designed this logo for you? Most of your album artwork is about anime, corpses, etc., which fits in well with the theme of your music, who designed this artwork for you?

G: 这个logo是我做的，但是最初的slam logo是由qantassaurus花5美元做的。封面也是我做的，我有一个账户，我在instagram上发布我的拼贴画@applecraniumcollages ！

The logo was made by me, however the original slam logo was made by qantassaurus on fiver. The covers were also made by me, I have a account were I post my collages, @applecraniumcollages on instagram!

V: 你所有的作品都是通过数字方式发行的，你有没有计划寻找一家正规的厂牌发行CD版本？到目前为止你接触过哪些厂牌？

All of your work is released digitally, do you have any plans to release a CD version with a proper label? What labels have you approached so far?

G: 的，我确实计划在不久的将来由Radiation Lacerations Productions制作cd ！

Yes, I do have plans for CDs in the near future to be produced by Radiation Lacerations Productions!

V: 你所有的专辑都是在今年发行的，我对你的作品印象深刻，大样本的动画配乐之后是混乱的，刺耳的riff，你甚至在你的一些作品中加入了电子元素，你的人声非常恶心，你觉得你的作品怎么样？

All of your releases were released this year and I was impressed with your work, big samples of anime soundtracks followed by messy, harsh riffs, you even added electronic elements to some of your work, and your vocals are very Sick, what do you think of your work?

G: 我对自己的工作很满意，发现自己经常听自己的音乐。我真的很高兴你对我的音乐有这样的感觉，我尽量让自己的音乐听起来与众不同！

I am really happy with my work and find myself listening to my own music a lot of times. I am really happy you feel that way about my music, I try to sound as unique as possible!

V: 随着2024年接近尾声，你在未来几个月还有什么工作要做，你对2025年有什么计划吗？你能向小组透露一些信息吗？

As 2024 draws to a close, what do you have left to work on in the coming months and do you have any plans for 2025? Can you reveal some information to the group?

G: 11月25日，我有我的goregrind EP，直接冲进你的脑海，我也有一个slam/grind的合辑即将在圣诞节推出，为Mycosis制作乐器，与Kawaii Utaucide合作，明年我将发行我的第一张全长专辑“stew”！

November 25th I have my goregrind EP fumes go straight to your head, I also have a slam/grind compilation coming out on Christmas Day, working on a instrumental for Mycosis, working on a split with Kawaii Utaucide, and next year I am releasing my first full length album entitled stew!

V: 哪些乐队对你的创作产生了影响？你能列出一些你最喜欢的乐队吗？

What are some of the bands that have influenced you creatively and can you list some of your favourites?

G: 哈哈，我喜欢的有很多，给我灵感的有Fluids, Pharmacist, Festerdecay, Viscera Infest, Cattle Decapitation, Carcass, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship, Schoolgirl Upon Thy Corpse, Larry Wang, Kawaii Utaucide, Prophetic Execution, Hive Of The Mantids, Pyometra，太多太多了，我最喜欢的是Cattle Decapitation，还有最后列出的四个乐队

I have so many ha ha, inspirations are Fluids, Pharmacist, Festerdecay, Viscera Infest, Cattle Decapitation, Carcass, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship, Schoolgirl Upon Thy Corpse, anything from Larry Wang, Kawaii Utaucide, Prophetic Execution, Hive Of The Mantids, Pyometra, and much more! My favorite bands would have to be Cattle Decapitation, and the last 4 bands listed.

V: Decay Country是一个非常年轻的乐队，但是一个非常有前途的乐队，我会一直支持和关注你的乐队，我希望这次采访能给你的乐队带来更多的关注和支持，你最后有什么想对你的中国粉丝说的吗？

Decay Country is a very young band, but a very promising band, I will always support and follow your band, and I hope that this interview will bring more attention and support to your band, do you have anything you want to say to your Chinese fans in the end?

G: 非常感谢大家的支持，我真的希望有一天我的音乐能激励你们，再次感谢你们的采访！这就是衰败的国家，继续努力吧！
