Hello Jeff Layton nice to meet you and thanks for getting in touch with the magazine for this interview, I think this is the first time you guys have been interviewed by a Chinese magazine, first of all say hello to the Chinese fans, what year did Dethlores of Gehenna start? How did you come up with the idea for the band?
J: 你好，中国！很荣幸见到我们的粉丝！乐队名字的创意是基于它的含义。在歌词和音乐上，它描绘了我们生活的地狱背后寓意死亡的传说。
Hello China!! Honored to meet our fans! The idea for the name is based on its meaning. Lyrically & musically, it depicts the lores of allegorical death behind the hell in which we live.

You only have two members in the band so it's going to be very easy in terms of songwriting, you can write the songs the way you want to, can you describe your songwriting process?

Lyrics are the essential starting point. Without them, the project’s concept is vague at best. Afterwards, the music works to reflect the lyrical meanings and the project’s concept as a whole.

You've just released an EP album this year and the recording of these albums has been amazing, what studio did you record the albums in? Which producer worked on your album?

We begin in our home studio (Hard Wall Studios) but ultimately the tracks land at Geneva Post Audio for final mix and mastering. We produce our own albums.

What is the theme of your music about? Why did you choose this musical theme and what do you want to express through this musical theme? You have created a lyrics section, who wrote these lyrics and what was his inspiration?
J: 主题是人类被囚禁在地狱星球上的困境。它描绘了我们每个人内心的野兽以及它为摆脱无望的束缚而进行的破坏性旅程。歌词由Feral Vermin创作，灵感来源于我们所经历的许多磨难。歌词内容大多具有象征意义，充满了比喻、寓言和隐喻。
The theme is the plight of mankind imprisoned on planet hell. It is a depiction of the beast within us all and its destructive journey to escape the tethers of hopelessness. Lyrics by Feral Vermin, inspired by the many trials and tribulations we all endure. Much of the lyrical content is symbolic, filled with parables, allegories, and metaphors.
V: 你们选择自己发行这张EP专辑的数字版本，有没有计划找一家正规唱片公司合作发行CD？到目前为止，你们与Cerebral Ischaemia唱片公司联系过吗？
You chose to release this EP album digitally on your own, do you have any plans to find a regular label to work with for a CD release? Have you reached out to the Cerebral Ischaemia label so far?

We are open to consider possibilities, but we are also content to work under our own label, Bloody Ghoulish Records.

First of all, congratulations on the release of your first EP ‘Scales of Leviathan’ this year, you're not quite the same as traditional Doom Metal, you've added some Groove Metal elements, which makes your productions sound funkier and faster than traditional Doom Metal. Doom Metal is a bit faster, but most of your passages are slower, which gives you a more ambient feel, and your vocals are low and powerful, giving you a doom feel.

As a brand new band, you've just released your first EP album, so what new things do you have in store for your band in 2025? Can you shed some light on that?

We have a metal movie released Halloween (Leviathan, Possessor of Souls). It includes a thematic plot, acting throughout, and the five tunes off our current EP as well as significant additional footage. Our next release, Flies in the Fecal Matter will release early next year, followed by its own movie.
