雷鬼音乐与黑金属音乐的碰撞 - 奥地利Experimental Black Metal / Reggae乐队Herbscure专访

雷鬼音乐一种源自20世纪60年代末牙买加的流行音乐风格，这几年实验金属风格非常流行，大量的此类风格乐队出现，他们把很多与金属乐完全没有关系的音乐风格与金属乐结合在一起，产生了一种出乎预料的感觉，今天就是采访到了这类风格的乐队，来自奥地利的Experimental Black Metal / Reggae乐队Herbscure，这是一支非常年轻的乐队由唯一的成员Daemon一个人在2024年组建，今年乐队在希腊厂牌Dale of Shadows发行了同名EP专辑“Herbscure”，这张专辑发行之后便受到了广泛的关注，因为在这张专辑发行之前，没有任何一张这种风格的专辑发行，Daemon包揽了所有的制作，创作工作，在新专辑发行之际，杂志与Daemon取得联系进行了一次专访！

Reggae is a popular music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. In recent years, experimental metal has become extremely popular, with a large number of bands emerging in this style. They blend metal with musical genres that have absolutely nothing to do with metal, creating an unexpected sound. Today, we’re interviewing a band that embodies this style: Herbscure, an Experimental Black Metal/Reggae band from Austria. This is a very young band, formed in 2024 by its sole member, Daemon. This year, the band released their self-titled EP, “Herbscure,” on the Greek label Dale of Shadows. The album garnered widespread attention upon its release, as no other album of this style had been released prior to it. Daemon handled all production and composition work. To mark the release of the new album, our magazine reached out to Daemon for an exclusive interview!

Hello Daemon, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is your first time being interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let me say hello to all Chinese fans. When was Herbscure band founded? How did you form this band?

D: 你好，很高兴认识你，谢谢你的联系！是的，这其实是我第一次接受采访。这个项目是2024年由我一人创立的，所以我不会称它为乐队。

Hello, nice to meet you too, thanks for reaching out! Yes, this is actually the first time ever I’m being interviewed. The project was founded in 2024 by myself being the only member, that's why I wouldn’t call it a band.

V: 乐队里只有你一个人，这样创作歌曲会更方便，因为你可以完全按照自己的想法来创作。你能介绍一下你的创作过程吗？

You are the only one in the band, so it will be more convenient to create songs again because you can create songs according to your own ideas. Can you introduce your creative process?

D: 是的，Herbscure 是一个个人项目，最初只是一个尝试将Black Metal与Reggae音乐相结合的实验。这样能更快地完成作品。我并不反对与乐队里的其他人合作，但对于这个项目来说，

自己包办一切确实更轻松。至于创作过程，我觉得挺直截了当的。除此之外，我尽量加快速度，不做完美主义者。问题是，我在音乐方面往往是个完美主义者，所以Herbscure在某种程度上算是对此的一种平衡……

Yes Herbscure is a solo project, it started as an experiment trying to combine Black Metal with Reggae. You get things done faster that way. I have nothing against working with other people in the same band, but for this project it’s just easier to do everything on my own. As for the creative process, I think it’s pretty straight forward. Other than that, I try to work fast and not be a perfectionist. The thing is, I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to music, so Herbscure is kind of the counterpart of that in a way...

V: 你的作品录音效果非常出色。你是哪间录音室录制这张专辑的？由哪位制作人操刀制作的？首张专辑的？录制过程顺利吗？

Your works have excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record your album in? Which producer made the album for you? Did the recording process of the first album go smoothly?

D: 谢谢！这一切都是我自己完成的。是的，过程非常顺利。

Thank you! I did everything myself. Yes it went very smoothly.

V: 你的音乐主题是什么？为什么选择这样的音乐主题？你想通过这个音乐主题表达什么？你写过歌词吗？这些歌词的灵感来自哪里？

What is the theme of your music and why did you choose such a music theme? What do you want to express through this music theme? Have you created any lyrics and what inspired these lyrics?

D: 我认为“音乐主题”是将黑金属与雷鬼音乐相结合。我认为这关乎独特性，旨在让Black Metal这一流派更加丰富多彩。是的，歌词是有的，但在这种情况下并不太重要，不过歌词挺有趣的，呵呵。

I would say the ‘music theme’ is combining Black Metal with Reggae. I think t’s about being unique and making the Black Metal genre richer and more colorful. Yes, there are lyrics, but they are not very important in this case, they’re funny though hehe.

V: 你曾与Dale of Shadows厂牌合作，发行了你的EP专辑的磁带版本。你是如何联系上这家厂牌进行合作的？你对与该厂牌的合作感到满意吗？

You collaborated with the Dale of Shadows label to release a cassette version of your EP album. How did you get in touch with this label to collaborate? Are you satisfied with the job at this brand?

D: 没错。我给几家专注于磁带的厂牌发了几封邮件，Dale of Shadows 回复了我并且很喜欢我的作品，事情就是这样促成的。是的，我很满意，因为我得到了我想要的一切。

That's correct. I wrote several mails to small labels that focus on cassette tapes and Dale of Shadows responded and liked my stuff, so that's how it came along. Yes, I’m satisfied I got exactly what I wanted from it.

V: 你们乐队的标志是我见过最独特的设计。是谁为你们设计的这个标志？你们的专辑封面设计也很精美。是谁为你们设计的这些封面？

Your band logo is the most unique design I have ever seen. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork is also beautifully designed. Who designed this artwork for you?

D: 谢谢！这些都是由Stefan Rindler（或他自称的Reldnir）完成的。他是我的一位好朋友，不仅为许多乐队创作了大量封面设计，还创作了许多精彩的艺术作品，大家一定要去关注他！

Thank you! It’s all done by Stefan Rindler or Reldnir - as he calls himself. He is a good friend of mine and he does lots of Artworks for Bands and great art in general, definitely check him out!

V: 首先，恭喜你今年发行了EP专辑。你的音乐风格非常独特，属于Experimental Black Metal/Reggae 。那独特而失真的吉他音色、优美的旋律，以及一些雷鬼元素，让你的作品更加独特且富有吸引力。能明显感觉到你的音乐非常具有实验性。你对自己作品有什么看法？

First of all, congratulations on releasing your EP album this year. Your music style is very unique, Experimental Black Metal/Reggae The unique and distorted guitar sound, beautiful melody, and some Reggae elements make your work even more unique and attractive. You can feel that your music is very experimental. What is your opinion on your own work?

D: 谢谢你的赞美！嗯……就我个人而言……我是说我也挺喜欢的哈哈。这次尝试能成功，而且大家也喜欢，我感到很满意。

Thank you for your kind words! Hmm my own opinion...I mean I like it as well haha. I’m satisfied that the experiment worked out and that people like it.

V: 除了今年发行EP专辑外，你还有哪些新计划？例如创作、录制新歌或发行全新专辑时，能否和大家分享一些信息？

What new work do you have to do besides releasing EP albums this year? For example, when creating, recording new songs, or releasing a brand new album, can you share some information with everyone?

D: 目前还没有具体计划，因为我还有其他项目要忙。但我感觉可以将黑金属与雷鬼的融合风格进一步深化，所以有动力再次尝试这种风格。虽然现在还无法透露具体细节，但可以肯定的是，迟早会有新作品问世。

At the moment there is nothing planned yet, as I have other projects as well. But I’m feeling that I can take the Black Metal/Reggae mix further, so there is a motivation to experiment with it again. I can’t say anything concrete yet, except that there will be new stuff sooner or later.

V: 你们是一支独一无二的乐队，我将一直关注并支持你们。我也希望通过这次采访，能让更多的中国乐迷关注并支持你们。采访即将结束，最后你有什么想对中国的乐迷和朋友们说的吗？

You are a unique band, and I will always pay attention to and support your band. I also hope that through this interview, more Chinese fans will pay attention to and support your band. The interview is coming to an end, do you have anything you want to say to Chinese fans and friends at the end?
