今天采访到的是来自芬兰的Melodic Death / Doom Metal乐队，2012年由键盘手Saku组建并且邀请了其他的成员加入乐队，2013年发行了第一张Demo作品，收获了大量的芬兰本土歌迷的支持，不久之后乐队发行了EP专辑“Chained”，优美的旋律，忧伤的氛围，复杂的编曲，每一首歌曲在快与慢来回徘徊，很容易让歌迷记住Shadecrown乐队的歌曲，也正是这张EP专辑吸引了芬兰本土著名的Inverse Records厂牌的关注并且在2016年发行了乐队的第一张正式专辑“Agonia”，从此以后乐队便与Inverse Records成为长期合作的伙伴，今年乐队发行了他们的最新专辑“0”，在新专辑发行之际杂志通过Inverse Records厂牌与乐队的创始人兼键盘手Saku取得联系1进行了一次专访！

The band I interviewed today is Melodic Death/Doom Metal from Finland. They were formed by keyboardist Saku in 2012 and invited other members to join the band. In 2013, they released their first demo work, which received a lot of support from local Finnish fans. Soon after, the band released an EP album called "Chained", with beautiful melodies, sad atmosphere, and complex arrangements. Each song oscillates between fast and slow, making it easy for fans to remember Shadrown's songs. It was this EP album that attracted the attention of Finland's famous Inverse Records label and released the band's first official album "Agonia" in 2016. Since then, the band has been... Becoming a long-term partner with Inverse Records, the band released their latest album "0" this year, which was approved by the magazine upon its release Inverse Records has contacted Saku, the founder and keyboardist of the band, for an exclusive interview!

V: 你好Saku很高兴认识你，非常感谢你参加这次采访。我想这是你们乐队第一次接受中国杂志的采访。首先向所有中国球迷问好。Shadecrow Band成立于2012年，是一支历史悠久的老牌乐队。谁一开始就提议组建这个乐队？

Hello Saku, it's nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, let's say hello to all Chinese fans. Shadecrow Band was founded in 2012 and is an old brand band with a long history. Who proposed to form this band in the first place?

S: 大家好！这实际上是我第一次接受中国杂志的采访。但不管怎样，我创立了这个乐队。最初我们应该只演奏旋律优美的Doom Metal，但事情有点失控了。我们也开始在音乐中融入其他元素。

Hello everyone! This is actually my first interview with a Chinese magazine. But anyway, I founded this band. Originally we were supposed to play only melodic doom metal, but things got a little out of hand. We started mixing other influences into our music as well.

V: 你的乐队保持了原来的阵容，但在2014年更换了吉他手。这位新吉他手是怎么加入乐队的？你对新成员的工作满意吗？

Your band maintains its original lineup, but changed guitarists in 2014. How did the new guitarist join the band? Are you satisfied with the new member's job?

S: 新来的吉他手已经是我们的朋友了，所以加入乐队很顺利。目前的阵容是在首次发布后形成的并且已经在一起很长时间了。我对乐队的现状感到满意。

The new guitarist was already a friend of ours, so joining the band went without a hitch. The current line-up took shape after the first releases and has been together for a long time. I am happy with the current situation of the band.

V: 你们乐队的每个成员都是创作金属音乐经验丰富的音乐家。你能介绍一下你的创作过程吗？我相信你的创作经验会给许多年轻音乐家带来灵感。

Each member of your band is an experienced musician in creating metal music. Can you introduce your creative process? I believe your creative experience will bring inspiration to many young musicians.

S: 我写这些歌曲的Demo，然后其他人给它们添加自己的风格。通常作曲是从吉他即兴重复段或和弦进行开始的。歌曲编排对我来说很重要，因为所有不同的部分都必须无缝地结合在一起。

I write the demos of the songs and then others add their own flavor to them. Usually composing a song starts with a guitar riff or a chord progression. Song arrangements are important to me because all the different parts have to fit together seamlessly.

V: 你们乐队的每一张专辑都有很好的录音效果。你在哪个录音室录制了这张专辑？哪位制作人为你制作了这张专辑，新专辑的录制过程进展顺利吗？

Every album of your band has excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record the album in? Which producer made the album for you, and is the recording process of the new album progressing smoothly?

S: 最近的三张专辑是在我家录音室录制的。我自己制作、编辑、混合和掌握了它们。自己做每件事都很有挑战性，但你总是能学到新的东西，而且可以做得更好。拥有自己的工作室的好处是，你不受严格的时间表的束缚。

The three latest albums were recorded in my home studio. I produced, edited, mixed and mastered them myself. It's challenging to do everything yourself, but you always learn something new and can do a little better. The advantage of owning your own studio is that you are not tied to strict schedules.

V: 你们乐队的Logo设计很简单，但这种设计形式是我个人最喜欢的，因为我很容易记住你们的名字。谁为你设计了这个Logo？你的专辑艺术品也设计得很漂亮。谁为你设计了这些专辑艺术品？

The logo design of your band is very simple, but this design form is my personal favorite because I can easily remember your names. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artworks are also beautifully designed. Who designed these album artworks for you?

S: 谢谢！我自己设计了乐队的标志和专辑的艺术品。

Thanks! I designed the band's logo and the artwork for the albums myself.

V: 你的音乐主题是什么？你为什么选择这样的音乐主题？你想通过这个音乐主题表达什么？你还创建了歌词部分。谁创作了这些歌词，是什么启发了他们？

What is the theme of your music about? Why did you choose such a music theme? What do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. Who created these lyrics and what inspired them?

S: 我也写了所有的歌词。歌词是关于生活的黑暗面。孤独、悲伤、失落、人性脆弱等。也许这些主题在某种程度上是芬兰精神景观的一部分。给黑暗音乐写快乐的歌词对我来说并不自然。

I write all the lyrics too. The lyrics are about the dark side of life. Loneliness, sadness, loss, human frailty etc. Maybe these themes are somehow part of the Finnish mental landscape. It doesn't feel natural to me to write happy lyrics to dark music.

V: 你一直在与Inverse Records合作发行专辑，这在你的国家是一个很好的唱片公司。你是如何与该厂牌建立合作关系的？你对这个厂牌的工作满意吗？

You have been collaborating with Inverse Records to release albums, which is an excellent label in your country. How did you establish contact with this label for cooperation? Are you satisfied with the job at this brand?

S: 我们需要一个有人脉、有能力推广我们专辑的人。所以我给Inverse Records发了一封电子邮件，这就是一切的开始。他们做得很好。

We needed someone with contacts and the ability to promote our albums. So I sent an email to Inverse Records and that's how it all started. They've done a great job.

V: 首先祝贺你们乐队今年发行了一张新专辑。这是一部非常激动人心的作品，旋律优美，编排精良，给我留下了深刻的印象。有些段落相对较慢，充分反映了Doom的感觉。鼓手的表演非常稳定和有规律，歌手的歌声也给我留下了深刻的印象。你对自己的工作有什么看法？新专辑和旧专辑之间有什么变化吗？

First of all, congratulations to your band for releasing a new album this year. It is a very exciting work with beautiful melodies and excellent arrangements, which has left a deep impression on me. Some paragraphs are relatively slow, fully reflecting the feeling of Doom. The drummer's performance is very stable and regular, and the singer's singing has also left a deep impression on me. What is your opinion on your own work? Is there any change between the new album and the old album?

S: 非常感谢。这可能是我们迄今为止最好的发布。你将在七月听到完整的专辑。从音乐上讲，这个可能有点重，速度更快。虽然这张专辑听起来很熟悉，但其中也可能有一些惊喜。

Thank you! This might be our best release yet. You'll get to hear the full album in July. Musically this one is perhaps a bit heavier and faster. Although the album sounds familiar Shadecrown, there might be a few surprises there as well.

V: 作为一个老乐队，你参加过许多音乐节。哪些音乐节给你留下了深刻的印象？你能介绍一下当时的现场气氛吗？你的乐队计划在2025年参加哪些音乐节？

As an old band, you have participated in many music festivals. Which music festivals have left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the live atmosphere at that time? Which music festivals are your band planning to participate in in in 2025?

S: 不幸的是，我们还没有能够在大型节日上表演，但我们希望这种情况在未来会有所改变。我们曾多次在较小的节日、俱乐部和酒吧演出。美好的回忆，伟大的人和冰啤酒。今年我们将参加Elovapina音乐节和Pihkuri音乐节。

Unfortunately we haven't been able to perform at big festivals yet, but we hope that the situation will change in the future. We have performed at smaller festivals, clubs and bars many times. Good memories, great people and cold beer. This year we will participate in the Elovapina festival and the Pihkuri festival.

V: 你是一支经典的老乐队，我将永远支持和追随你的乐队。我也希望通过这次采访吸引更多的中国歌迷关注和支持你们的乐队。最后你有什么想对中国球迷说的吗？

You are a classic old band, and I will always support and follow your band. I also hope to attract more Chinese fans to follow and support your band through this interview. Do you have anything you want to say to Chinese fans in the end?

S: 感谢您的支持！我们很感激。我希望中国人也能发现我们的音乐，听我们的专辑。来自芬兰的问候，也许有一天我们会见面！干杯
