恶魔骑士 - 哥斯达黎加Black / Speed Metal / Punk乐队Goat Rider专访

今天采访到的是一支来自哥斯达黎加的Black / Speed Metal / Punk乐队Goat Rider，成立于2019年的Goat Rider乐队最初由Deströyer和Messiah组建并且在2020年发行了第一张正式专辑“High Speed from Hell”，创作、演奏和录制的，效果令人印象深刻。这张专辑中的Black/Thrash带有些许D-beat的味道，而且充满了力量。歌曲在技术上很简单，但80年代的原始能量却绝对存在。Deströyer负责专辑的录音工作，吉他和架子鼓的录制也是在家庭录音室完成的，听起来令人惊叹。Messiah负责主唱和贝斯手的工作。这支乐队的概念和意象与日本文化有关。无论是否具有讽刺意味，封面上骑着摩托车的山羊和帝国国旗看起来都很酷！朋克风格的鼓点也相当简单，但歌曲的节奏欢快有力，每隔四小节就会出现一些基本的小军鼓断奏，可以感受到乐队受到Mötörhead乐队的一些影响。贝斯吉他严重失真，通常只是为吉他伴奏。人声则完全是刻薄的、高亢的Black Metal嘶吼声，很像早期Bathory的作品。在制作方面，第一张专辑发行之后Wizard以鼓手的身份加入了乐队，Josue Segura以吉他手的身份加入乐队并且协助乐队发行了第二张正式专辑，2022年发行了单曲“Aokigahara”之后吉他手Josue Segura退出乐队，2023年Desecrator接替了吉他手的位置加入乐队，不久之后乐队的第三张正式专辑发行，今年乐队发行了最新EP专辑“Savage Steel”，在新专辑发行之际杂志与乐队取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview is with Goat Rider, a Black / Speed Metal / Punk band from Costa Rica. Formed in 2019, Goat Rider was originally formed by Deströyer and Messiah and released their first official album “High Speed from Hell” in 2020. High Speed from Hell", written, performed and recorded with impressive results. The Black/Thrash on this album has a slight D-beat flavor and is full of power. The songs are technically simple, but the raw energy of the 80's is definitely present.Deströyer handled the recording of the album, and the guitars and drums were recorded in a home studio and sound amazing.Messiah handles the vocals and bass. The concept and imagery of this band is related to Japanese culture. Ironic or not, the cover looks cool with the goat on the motorcycle and the Imperial flag! The punk-inspired drumming is also fairly simple, but the songs are upbeat and powerful, with some basic snare breaks every four bars, and you can feel some of the band's influence from the band Mötörhead. The bass guitar is heavily distorted and usually just accompanies the guitar. The vocals, on the other hand, are completely mean, high-pitched Black Metal hiss, much like early Bathory's work. In terms of production, Wizard joined the band as a drummer after the release of the first album, Josue Segura joined the band as a guitarist and assisted in the release of the band's second official album, and after the release of the single “Aokigahara” in 2022, guitarist Josue Segura quit the band. Segura quit the band in 2022 and Desecrator joined the band in 2023 as guitarist, the band's third album was released shortly after and this year the band released their latest EP “Savage Steel”, on the occasion of the release of the new album the magazine got in touch with the band for an interview! The magazine contacted the band for an interview on the occasion of the release of the new album!

V: 你好兄弟很高兴见到你，非常感谢你能参加这次采访，我想这是你们乐队第一次接受中国杂志的采访。首先向所有中国歌迷问好。Goat Rider乐队成立于2019年，是一支非常年轻的乐队。你们是如何组建这支乐队的？

Hello brother, nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview, I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine. First of all, say hello to all the Chinese fans. Goat Rider was formed in 2019 and is a very young band. How did you form this band?

D: 是的，很荣幸能第一次与中国的金属狂热分子对话。向所有支持原始地下金属的中国乐迷致敬！Goat Rider乐队的诞生源于共同的激情。我们当时只是几个朋友，DeströyerH和Messiah一起放着Venom和Bathory的老磁带，我们知道我们必须把这种能量带回来。没有潮流，没有过滤，只有原始的速度和亵渎。我们在2019年开始即兴创作，写下狂暴的乐句并将其全部录制在磁带上，这就是火花。

Hell yeah, it’s an honor to speak to metal maniacs in China for the first time. Hails to all the Chinese headbangers supporting raw underground metal! Goat Rider was born out of a shared fire. We were just a couple of friends, Deströyer and Messiah, blasting old Venom and Bathory tapes, and we knew we had to bring that kind of energy back. No trends, no filters just raw speed and blasphemy. We started jamming in 2019, writing furious riffs and getting it all down on tape. That was the spark.

V: 你们最初只有Deströyer和Messiah两人并发行了第一张正式专辑，之后其他成员也加入了乐队。新成员是如何加入乐队的？你对新成员的工作满意吗？

You started out with just Deströyer and Messiah and released your first official album, then the rest of the members joined the band. How did the new members come into the band? Are you happy with the work of the new members?

D: 当然。一开始只有我们两个人，处理所有的噪音。但随着音乐的发展，我们需要更多的活力来把它带到舞台上。新成员是从地下音乐人中精挑细选出来的，他们是Messiah的朋友。他们并没有加入乐队，而是成为了风暴的一部分，哈哈。我们为他们在录音室和现场所做的工作感到骄傲。他们让我们的精神得以延续。这些年来乐队的阵容发生了一些变化，但每次都是同一个鼓手。

Absolutely. In the beginning it was just the two of us, handling all the noise. But as the music evolved, we needed more firepower to bring it to the stage. The new members were handpicked from the underground people who live and breathe this sound, some friends of Messiah. They didn’t join the band; they became part of the storm haha. We’re proud of the work they’ve done, both in the studio and live. They’ve kept the spirit alive. Some line UP changes throught the years but same drumer everytime.

V: 你们是一支非常年轻的乐队，有着强烈的创作欲望，你们已经发行了三张正式专辑，每张专辑都广受好评。能谈谈你们的创作过程吗？

You are a very young band but you have a strong desire to create, you have released three official albums and each of them has been very well received. Can you tell us a little bit about your creative process?

D: 我们的创作过程很快。我们不会考虑太多，如果一个旋律打中了你的要害，我们就会立即创作。我们演奏，我们尖叫，我们不断地迸发灵感，直到有什么东西能够坚持下来。歌词通常由Messiah完成，一旦歌曲的基调明确。我们所做的一切都源于感觉，而非完美。我们保持自发、原始、充满激情。音乐大部分时间由Deströyer创作。

Our creative process is fast. We don’t overthink if a riff punches you in the gut, it goes in. We jam, we scream, we burn through ideas until something sticks. Lyrics usually done by Messiah, once the mood of the song is clear. Everything we do is rooted in feeling—not perfection. We keep it spontaneous, primal, and full of fire. Music most of the time is wrote by Deströyer.

V: 你们的录音非常出色，效果清晰、干净，每个细节都能听得一清二楚。你们在哪个录音室录制了这张专辑，哪个制作人为你们制作了这张专辑？今年新EP的录制进展如何？

Your work is excellent in terms of recording, clear, clean results, every detail can be heard clearly. Which studio did you record the album in and which producer produced the album for you? How is the recording process of this year’s new EP going?

D: 感谢你的评论！我们在一个小型的DIY录音室（Deströyer家庭录音室）里录制了所有唱片，保持了原始而有力的风格。我们对光鲜亮丽的商业声音不感兴趣，我们希望它能像老唱片一样，给人以强烈的冲击。我们的大部分制作工作都是自己完成的，我们的团队都非常了解我们的想法。野蛮钢 EP 的录制也秉承了同样的态度，快速、现场、最少的剪辑，只有纯粹的力量。它激烈而响亮，是它应有的样子。

Thanks for the words! We record everything in a small DIY studio that keeps the spirit raw but still powerful (Deströyer home studio). We’re not interested in polished commercial sound we want it to hit hard, like the old records did. We do most of the production ourselves with a close crew that understands our vision. The Savage Steel EP was recorded with that same attitude quick, live-style, minimal editing, just pure force. It was intense and loud, the way it should be.

V: 速度、亵渎是你们音乐的主题，为什么选择这个主题，你们想通过这个主题表达什么？歌词是谁写的，灵感来自哪里？

Speed, Blasphemy is the theme of your music, why did you choose this theme and what do you want to express through this theme? Who writes the lyrics and what inspires them?

D: 速度和亵渎不仅仅是主题，也是我们的本质。它是反叛，是对虚假偶像的摧毁，是通过噪音获得的解放。大部分时间都是弥赛亚写歌词。他的灵感来自于混乱的世界、反独裁的愤怒、神秘学、街头生活以及我们身边所有的腐朽之美。我们希望人们在聆听我们的音乐时能感受到自由，就像他们是狂野和邪恶的一部分。

Speed and blasphemy aren’t just themes they’re our essence. It’s rebellion, destruction of false idols, and liberation through noise. Messiah write the lyrics most of the time. He’re inspired by the chaos of the world, anti-authoritarian rage, the occult, street life, and all the rotten beauty we see around us. We want people to feel free when they listen to our music like they’re part of something wild and unholy.

V: 你们乐队的第一张专辑是自己发行的，其余专辑都是与Violence Records、Thrashing Cult Records、Muchik Records等厂牌合作发行的。你们是如何与这些唱片公司取得联系并进行合作的？你对这些厂牌的工作满意吗？

Your band’s first album was self-released and the rest of your albums you released with labels like Violence Records, Thrashing Cult Records, Muchik Records, etc. How did you get in touch with these labels to collaborate? Are you satisfied with the work of these labels?

D: 这些厂牌是通过地下网络磁带交易、口口相传和传播火种找到我们的。我们从不乞求别人的关注；我们坚持真理，合适的人就会出现。与所有这些唱片公司合作都非常愉快，他们尊重我们，对我们充满热情并忠于我们的音乐事业。我们很荣幸能成为他们的一员，继续共同高举地下音乐的旗帜。

Those labels found us through the underground network tape trading, word of mouth, and just spreading the fire. We never begged for attention; we stayed true and the right people came along. All those labels have been great to work with respectful, passionate, and loyal to the scene. We’re proud to be part of their rosters and keep flying the underground flag together.

V: 你们乐队的Logo很漂亮，是谁为你们设计的？你们的专辑封面设计精美、复古，与日本文化有关。谁为你们设计了这个图案，为什么选择日本文化作为灵感来源？

Your band’s logo is beautiful, who designed it for you? Your album artwork is beautifully designed and vintage, and your album artwork is related to Japanese culture. Who designed this artwork for you and why did you choose Japanese culture as your inspiration?

D: 我们的Logo是由我Deströyer和Messiah设计的，他们了解我们的理念，即带有危险边缘的经典金属美学。至于美术设计，我们与来自不同国家的几位艺术家合作过。我们的一些封面受到了日本的影响，因为我们欣赏日本恐怖和神话的强度和黑暗优雅。这与我们的混乱和神秘主义主题完美契合。

Our logo was designed by Messiah and I (Deströyer) who understands what we’re about classic metal aesthetics with a dangerous edge. As for the artwork, we’ve worked with several artists from different countries. Some of our covers have Japanese influences because we admire the intensity and dark elegance of Japanese horror and mythology. It aligns perfectly with our themes of chaos and mysticism.

V: 首先祝贺贵乐队今年发行了最新EP"Savage Steel"。你们的乐队是一支带有Punk克风格的 Black/Speed Metal乐队。你们的作品有的速度很快，有的则更慢更重。这让我想起了Venom乐队的前几张专辑，似乎这支乐队对你们影响很大。你对自己的作品有何看法？

First of all, congratulations to your band for releasing your latest EP “Savage Steel” this year. Your band is Black/Speed Metal with a Punk twist. Some of your work is fast, some is slower and heavier. It reminds me of Venom’s first couple of albums it seems that this band has a lot of influence on you. What do you think of your work?

D: 谢谢！这种比较意义重大。Venom乐队对我们的影响很大。我们从来不想让每首歌听起来都一样。有些歌曲比地狱还快，有些则更沉重、更忧郁，但它们都来自同一个腐朽的内核。我们加入了朋克元素，因为我们喜欢那种原始、反体制的态度。我们的声音丑陋、响亮、充满活力。这就是我们喜欢的风格。

Thank you! That comparison means a lot. Venom is a huge influence for us. We never want to sound the same in every track. Some songs are faster than hell, others are heavier and more doomy, but it’s all from the same rotten core. We throw in a punk edge because we love that raw, anti-establishment attitude. Our sound is ugly, loud, and alive. That’s how we like it.

V: 虽然你们是一支非常年轻的乐队，但也参加过一些音乐节。哪些音乐节给你们留下了深刻印象，能描述一下音乐节的氛围吗？我看到你们还发行了一张现场录音专辑，这是你们乐队参加的那场音乐现场录音？2025年还会参加哪些音乐节？

Although you’re a very young band, you’ve played a few festivals. What festivals have impressed you and can you describe the atmosphere? I see that you also released an album of live recordings… What festivals did you play at, and what other festivals are you going to play in 2025?

D: 我们曾在废弃空间的小型音乐节、仓库演出和地下聚会上表演过一些疯狂的节目，现场能量爆棚。这些演出狂野而纯粹。观众亲密无间、大汗淋漓、尖叫连连。我们曾发行过一盘现场录音带“Live for the Rising Sun”，记录了其中的一个夜晚（Festival Nacional de Música Extrema 2020）。2025年我们将在国外参加一些更大的地下音乐节。目前还未确定，但野兽已经饿了。

We’ve played some crazy shows tiny festivals in abandoned spaces, warehouse gigs, and underground gatherings where the energy is off the charts. Those shows are wild and pure. The crowd is close, sweaty, and screaming. We did release a live tape “Live for the Rising Sun” capturing one of those nights (Festival Nacional de Música Extrema 2020) it’s raw as hell. For 2025, we’re working on hitting a few bigger underground festivals outside our country. Nothing confirmed yet, but the beast is hungry.

V: 你们乐队在2025年有什么新作品？能介绍一下吗？

What new work does your band have coming up in 2025? Can you shed some light on that?

D: 我们已经开始写新的材料，希望速度更快，更污秽，也许还有更黑暗的边缘。有消息称我们将与另一支来自拉丁美洲的乐队合作发行合辑，或许还会为死忠们制作一张只在磁带上播放的EP。此外我们还想进行巡演，将混乱传播到境外。2025年我们将更加活跃。

We’ve already started writing new material expect more speed, more filth, and maybe a darker edge. There’s talk of a split release with another band from Latin America, and maybe a tape-only EP for the diehards. Also, we want to tour and spread the chaos beyond our borders. 2025 will be louder.

V: 哥斯达黎加的金属场景仍在蓬勃发展。我知道你们国家的一些乐队，但我还是想通过你们了解更多关于哥斯达黎加金属场景的信息。你能描述一下贵国的氛围吗？

Costa Rica still has a thriving metal scene. I know some bands from your country, but I’d still like to learn more about following Costa Rica’s metal scene through you. Can you describe the vibe in your country?

D: 这里的金属场景充满活力和激情。虽然规模不大，但却充满激情。这里有很多杀手级乐队，他们的音乐风格各异，有Black Metal、Death Metal、Grind，也有Punk元素。现场支持自己的DIY演出、小型音乐节和大量的磁带交易。这是一种兄弟情谊，即使资源有限，但火种永不熄灭。作为其中一员，我们深感自豪。

The metal scene here is alive and pissed off. It’s small, but there’s real passion. Lots of killer bands pushing different styles from black and death metal to grind and punk-infused stuff. The scene supports itself DIY shows, small festivals, and tons of tape trading. It’s a brotherhood, and even with limited resources, the fire never dies. We’re proud to be part of it.

V: 虽然你们是一支非常年轻的乐队，但却非常成熟稳重。我会一直支持和关注你们的乐队，也希望通过这次采访，能有更多的中国歌迷关注和支持你们的乐队。最后有什么想对中国歌迷说的吗？

Although you are a very young band, you are very mature and steady. I will always support and pay attention to your band, and I also hope that through this interview more Chinese fans will pay attention to and support your band. Do you have anything you would like to say to your Chinese fans in the end?

D: 来自深渊的感谢这对我们意义重大。对中国所有的金属狂人来说：保持原始，保持速度，永远不要忘记地下音乐。我们与你们同行。响亮地演奏我们的音乐，传播我们的声音，坚守我们的信念。Goat Rider向你们致敬，更多的亵渎将向你们袭来！
