今天采访到的是来自芬兰的Progressive Power / Heavy Metal乐队Ice Exiled，最初乐队由吉他手Osku和主唱Miika组建的这支乐队，当时取名为Archares并且发行了一些单曲和一张EP专辑，2024年乐队正式更名为Ice Exiled，更换名字不久之后乐队在Inverse Records放行了一张EP专辑“Civilization Zero”，作品发行之后便受到芬兰歌迷的喜爱，随后乐队最新的的单曲"Anthropocentrum (Set Me Free)"发布也预示着Ice Exiled乐队的第一张即将发行，"Reset the Sky"，优美的旋律，歌手清澈，干净的嗓音，给所有歌迷一种很独特的魅力，乐队还加入了大提琴这也让乐队更加的吸引了众多歌迷的关注，Ice Exiled今年的第一张正式专辑"Reset the Sky"是Progressive Power / Heavy Metal风格当中最精彩，最具有特色的作品之一，新专辑发行之际杂志通过Inverse Records厂牌的协助与歌手Miika取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview is with Finnish Progressive Power / Heavy Metal band Ice Exiled, originally formed by guitarist Osku and vocalist Miika as Archares, the band released a handful of singles and an EP before officially changing their name to Ice Exiled in 2024, shortly after the name change the band released an EP on Inverse Records entitled ‘Civilisation Zero’, which became a hit with Finnish fans. In 2024 the band changed their name to Ice Exiled, and shortly after the name change the band released the EP ‘Civilisation Zero’ on Inverse Records, which was a hit with Finnish fans, followed by the band's latest single ‘Anthropocentrum (Set Me Free)’, which was released on Inverse Records. The release of the band's latest single ‘Anthropocentrum (Set Me Free)’ also heralded the release of Ice Exiled's first album, ‘Reset the Sky’, which features a beautiful melody and the singer's clear, clean voice, giving all fans a very unique charm, and the band has added cello to the mix, which made the band even more appealing to fans. Ice Exiled's first official album of the year, ‘Reset the Sky’, is one of the most exciting and distinctive works in the Progressive Power / Heavy Metal genre, and on the occasion of the release of the new album, the magazine contacted singer Miika through the assistance of Inverse Records for an exclusive interview!

V: 你好兄弟很高兴见到你，也非常感谢你参加这次采访，我想这是你们乐队第一次接受中国杂志的采访，首先跟中国的粉丝们打个招呼吧，Ice Exiled乐队成立于2016年，当初是谁发起成立乐队的？

Hello brother nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview, I think this is the first time your band has been interviewed by a Chinese magazine, first of all say hello to all the fans in China, Ice Exiled was formed in 2016, who initiated the formation of the band in the first place?

M: 你好，感谢你邀请我们！是的，这是我们第一次接受中国的采访，非常好！我们的吉他手Osku和主唱Miika在2016年底成立了这支乐队。在成立这个乐队之前我们曾一起组建过一些乐队，当我们看到前乐队成员的新演出时，我们决定成立一支新的旋律金属乐队。由于Osku在芬兰南部的阿尔托大学攻读工程学，因此其他乐队成员也很容易找到。

Hello, and thank you for having us! Yes, this is our first interview to China, very nice! Our guitarist Osku and the vocalist Miika established this band in the end of 2016. We had some bands together before this project, and when we were watching our former bandmates new gig we decided to establish a new melodic metal band. Other bandmates were easy to find, since Osku was studying Engineering in Aalto University in Southern Finland, so was most of the other bandmates.

V: 你们最初叫Archares，今年才改成现在的名字，是什么原因让你们改名的？

You started out as Archares and only changed your name to your current one this year, what made you change your name?

M: 我们改名是因为我们觉得那支乐队在这些年里发生了一些变化，我们也是把Archares分成Arc和野兔，听起来会很有趣。这就是为什么我们的吉祥物是一只兔子。然而我们觉得这种幽默不再适合我们的乐队了，我们已经不喜欢兔子了！

We changed our name, because we felt that that band had changed somehow during the years, and so were we. And if you divide Archares to Arc and hares, it sound quite funny. And that’s why we had some kind of rabbit as our mascot. However, we felt that that kind of humor was not the thing in this band anymore. We outgrew the bunny!

V: 你们的乐队没有更换过成员，你们彼此都很熟悉，所以我想在歌曲创作方面，你们的乐队可以说是得心应手，因为你们可以按照自己的想法写歌，能描述一下你们的创作过程吗？

Your band hasn't changed members, you know each other very well, so I guess in terms of songwriting your band comes in handy because you can write songs the way you want to, can you describe your songwriting process?

M: 通常情况下，有人会提出一些歌曲的想法，然后每个人都会给出一些反馈意见。然后我们一起进行修改，使歌曲更加完美。每个人都会提出自己的想法。大部分歌曲都是由我们的吉他手Osku创作的，我们的大提琴手Veikko也会创作很多歌曲。歌词大多由Veikko和主唱Miika在贝斯手Roger的帮助下创作。我们通常会尝试不同的编曲想法，然后选出最好的。

Usually it goes that somebody brings some idea of a song, and then everyone gives some feedback. Then together we make some changes and making the song even better. Everyone brings their ideas to the table. Most of the songs are composed by our guitarist Osku, and our cellist Veikko brings also very much songs. The lyrics are mostly written by Veikko and vocalist Miika with the help of our bass player Roger. Usually we try a different arrangement ideas, and then we select the best ones.

V: 你们乐队的录音非常出色，你们是在哪个录音棚录制的专辑，哪位制作人为你们制作专辑？

Your band's recordings are excellent, what studio did you record the album in and which producer produced the album for you?

M: 谢谢，很高兴听到你这么说！实际上所有的制作都是我们乐队自己完成的。鼓是在Rami Nykänen的帮助下在Shed Studios录制的。其他乐器都是乐队自己在家里的录音室录制的。此外我们还在夏天的周末住在小别墅里，芬兰有很多夏天的小别墅！我们把小屋变成了周末工作室。在那里我们一起录制了一些唱片。主唱由Aleksi Rautiainen录音和制作。我们的吉他手Osku是这张专辑的制作人，他还负责歌曲的混音。母带制作由Miro Kiiski完成，但专辑最后一首歌“The Satellite (We Call Home) ”的母带制作由Janne Hakanen完成。

Thank you, that was very nice to hear! We are actually a self-producing band. The drums were recorded at Shed Studios with the help of Rami Nykänen. All the other instruments were recorded by the band itself in our home studios. Also, we had some summer cottage weekends, there’s plenty of summer cottages in Finland! We turned the cottage into a studio for the weekend. There we were making some recordings together. The lead vocals were recorded and produced by Aleksi Rautiainen. Our guitarist Osku was the producer of the album and he also mixed the songs. The mastering was done by Miro Kiiski, except the last song of the album, The Satellite (We Call Home) was mastered by Janne Hakanen.

V: 你们的音乐主题是什么，为什么选择这个主题，你们想通过它表达什么？你是否写过歌词，这些歌词是谁写的，灵感来自哪里？

What is your musical theme about, why did you choose it and what do you want to express through it? Did you write any lyrics parts, who wrote these lyrics and what was his inspiration?

M: 因为在这种音乐中，积极和快乐的歌词是行不通的。另外在芬兰除了演奏金属音乐，没有其他事情可做。这就是为什么旋律是忧郁的，歌词中包含了一些悲观、痛苦和失落。

Because positive and happy lyrics never work in this kind of music. Also there is nothing else to do in Finland than play a metal music. That’s why the melodies are melancholic, and the lyrics includes some pessimism, agony and loss.

V: 你们乐队的Logo非常简单，但这种设计方式是我个人最喜欢的，因为我很容易就能记住你们乐队的名字，这个Logo是谁为你们设计的？你们的专辑封面设计也很精美，是谁为你们设计的？

Your band's logo is very simple, but this way of designing is my personal favourite because I can easily remember your band's name, who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork is also beautifully designed, who designed the artwork for you?

M: Logo是Chuck Cuevas设计的，在美术设计方面，我们也非常注重自我制作。我们的主唱Miika使用AI和photoshop完成了所有专辑和单曲的美术设计。正如你所看到的，我们喜欢这种DIY方式！DIY 有两个好处：首先它更便宜；其次当你自己动手时，你也能学到很多东西！

The logo was designed by Chuck Cuevas. In the case of artwork we are also very self-producing. Our vocalist Miika did all the album and single artworks using AI prompts and photoshop. As you can see, we like this DIY-method! There’s two positive things in DIY: first it’s a way cheaper and secondly when you’re doing it by yourself you also learn a lot!

V: 今年你们在Inverse Records厂牌发行了新专辑，Inverse Records是贵国的一个优秀厂牌，你是如何与这个厂牌取得联系并进行合作的？你对他们的工作满意吗？

This year you released your new album on Inverse Records, a great label in your country, how did you get in touch with the label and work with them? Were you satisfied with their work?

M: 是的，我们给Inverse寄去了一些Demo，他们很喜欢我们的作品！是的与他们合作非常轻松愉快！乐队和唱片公司之间的沟通很有效，我们对结果再满意不过了！

Yeah, we send some demos to Inverse and they liked our stuff! Yeah and definitely it has been easy and nice to work with them! Communication worked between the band and the label, and we could not be happier with the results!

V: 首先祝贺你们今年发行的新专辑“Reset the Sky”，优美的旋律，强劲、整齐、有力的节奏，鼓手的表现非常稳定，精准的打击给我留下了深刻印象，主唱的演唱也非常精彩，干净清澈的嗓音和凶猛的咆哮相互切换，主唱的表现也非常好。真的很精彩，你对自己的作品有什么想法吗？

First of all, congratulations on the release of your new album ‘Reset the Sky’ this year, beautiful melodies, strong, neat, powerful riffs, drummer's performance is very stable, precise strikes impressed me, the singer's vocals are also very wonderful, clean and clear voice and and ferocious growl, switching between each other, the singer's performance is also very good. It's really brilliant, do you have any thoughts on your work?

M: 谢谢！我们制作这张专辑快三年了，我觉得我们真的在努力制作一张最好的专辑。这是我们用这些时间、金钱和技术所能达到的最好效果！我们为自己的创作感到自豪。

Thank you! We were making this album almost three years, and I feel we were really trying to make the best album we could ever do. This is the best that we could achieve with this time and money and skills! We are proud of what we have created.

V: 作为一支乐队你们参加过哪些音乐节？哪些音乐节给你们留下了深刻印象，能否描述一下音乐节的氛围？

What festivals have you been to as a band, what festivals have impressed you and can you describe the atmosphere and what other festivals have you been invited to in 2025?

M: 我们喜欢芬兰的许多音乐节，其中最大的是赫尔辛基的Tuska音乐节，那里的气氛很棒。现在我们还没有预定音乐节演出，但我们会看看未来会发生什么。

We like many festivals in Finland, the biggest one is Tuska in Helsinki and that atmosphere is great. Right now we don’t have and festival gig booked yet, but we’ll see what the future holds for us.

V: 你们乐队在2025年有什么新作品吗？你能透露一些相关信息给听众吗？

What new work do you have coming up for your band in 2025? Can you reveal some of that information to the group?

M: 我们目前还不能透露我们的计划，但我们正在为歌曲收集新想法并将开始创作一些新音乐。

We cannot reveal our plans yet, but we are gathering new ideas to the songs and will will start to create some new music.

V: 你们是一支非常经典和优秀的乐队，我会一直支持和关注你们的乐队，我也希望通过这次采访能有更多的中国歌迷关注和支持你们的乐队，最后你们有什么想对中国歌迷说的吗？

You are a classic and very good band, I will always support and follow your band, I also hope that through this interview more Chinese fans will follow and support your band, do you have anything you would like to say to your Chinese fans in the end?

M: Xièxiè！再次感谢你们的邀请！享受生活，保持金属质感！
