今天采访到的是来自意大利的Alternative Metal乐队Attempt to somebody's life，组建于2001年的Attempt to somebody's life乐队是意大利一支非常有资历的老牌乐队，最初有几名高中生组建，受到了Pop/Punk, Extreme Metal/Industrial, Prog/Rock等风格的影响，再加上一些自己独特的演奏，演变成为他们自己独有的风格，在组建三年之后乐队发行了第一张正式专辑，这张专辑发行之后便受到了广泛好评，在成功发行第一张专辑之后乐队并且继续延续乐队的生涯，反而决定解散乐队，进入长达20年的“休眠期”，直到歌手/吉他手Ruth和鼓手Jep两名成员决定录制乐队未发表的作品之后才决定重组乐队并且在2024年发行了新专辑“Bridges/Latencies”，这张作品依旧保持着乐队自己的独特风格，2025年乐队再次发行了新专辑“CYRENE”，在新专辑发行之际杂志与乐队取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview was with the Italian band Alternative Metal, Attempt to someone's life. Founded in 2001, Attempt to someone's life is a highly qualified veteran band in Italy. Initially formed by a few high school students, they were influenced by styles such as Pop/Punk, Extreme Metal/Industrial, Prog/Rock, and some of their own unique performances, evolving into their own unique style. After three years of formation, the band released their first official album, which received widespread acclaim. After successfully releasing their first album, the band continued their career and decided to disband, entering a period of 20 years. The 'dormant period' of the year, until singer/guitarist Ruth and drummer Jep After two members decided to record the band's unpublished works, they decided to reorganize the band and released a new album "Bridges/Temples" in 2024, which still maintains the band's unique style. In 2025, the band released a new album "CYRENE", and the magazine contacted the band for an exclusive interview on the occasion of the release of the new album!

V: 你好兄弟，很高兴见到你，非常感谢您接受本次专访。我想这是贵乐队首次接受中国杂志的采访。首先向所有中国乐迷和朋友们问好。Attempt to Someone's Life乐队成立于何时？你们是如何组建这支乐队的？乐队名称有何寓意？

Hello brother, it's nice to meet you and thank you very much for participating in this interview. I think this is the first time your band has accepted an interview from a Chinese magazine. First of all, let me say hello to all Chinese fans and friends. When was the band Attempt to Someone's Life founded? How did you form this band? Does this name have any meaning?

A: ATSL乐队成立于2001年，由一群音乐背景（pop/punk, extreme metal/industrial, prog/rock）和人生经历迥异的高中生创立。历经三年创作并发行限量版黑胶唱片后，乐队进入长达二十年的休眠期。直至原四人成员中的两位（主唱/吉他手Ruth与鼓手Jep）决定录制乐队未公开的曲目。这支乐队由一群音乐背景（pop/punk, extreme metal/industrial, prog/rock）和人生经历迥异的高中生组成。“Attempt to Somebody’s Life”意指我们的音乐诞生于对听众安全感的挑战。复出时我们在(somebody's)后加括号，使其可解读为“尝试活出此生”。

ATSL was founded in 2001. by some high-school teenagers that had very different musical background (pop/punk, extreme metal/industrial, prog/rock) and life experiences. The band was formed by some high-school teenagers that had very different musical background (pop/punk, extreme metal/industrial, prog/rock) and life experiences. After 3 years and a limited released LP the band went in cryosleep for 20 years, until two of the original 4 members (singer/guitarist Ruth and drummer Jep) decided to record the unreleased songs the band had. Attempt to Somebody’s Life means that our music is born as an Attempt to the listener sense of security. When we restart we add brackets to (somebody’s), so it can be read as Attempt to live this life.

V: 你们乐队成员都是第一代成员吗？你们是否更换过成员？新成员是如何加入乐队的？第一代成员为何离开乐队？

Are all members of your band first generation members? Have you ever changed members? How did the new members join the band? Why did the first generation members leave the band?

A: 正如所说，只有两位。没错：两位新吉他手和一位贝斯手。一切都在逐步推进！其中一位在电子音乐领域表现相当出色，另一位定居美国：当乐队进入长期休整期（从未正式解散！）时，成员各自发展，但我们始终保持联系！

Only two as said. Yes we did: two new guitarists and a bassist. Gradually in time! One is actually doing pretty good with electronic music, the other is living in the US: when the band took the long pause (it never officialy dissolved!) everyone went for himself, but we still keep in touch!

V: 你们如何创作歌曲？能否谈谈你们的创作历程？你们今年刚发行了最新作品。新专辑的创作过程顺利吗？

How do you create songs? Can you take a look at your creative experience? You just released your latest work this year. Did the creative process of the new album go smoothly?

A: 有人（通常是吉他手）带着作品来到录音室，我们会彻底改造它，直到它变成完全不同的东西！这过程并不总是一帆风顺，多数时候其实相当缓慢。确实如此，但整个过程非常审慎而缓慢。

Someone (usually a guitarist) bring something at the studio and we butcher it and change it until is something completly different! It’s not always easy, most of the time actually is a slow process. It did yes, but it was very ponderate and slow.

V: 你们总共发行了两张专辑，两张的录音效果都非常出色。是在哪家录音室完成录制的？哪位制作人负责了你们的专辑制作？新专辑的录制过程顺利吗？

You have released a total of two albums, both of which have excellent recording effects. Which studio did you record the albums in? Which producer produced the album for you? Did the recording process of the new album proceed smoothly?

A: 佛罗伦萨GRS，埃马努埃莱·布拉卡，相比这次，第一次合作非常顺利：我们进行了深入探讨并克服了诸多疑虑，最终圆满完成！

GRS in Florence，Emanuele Braca，The first one was very smooth compare to this new one: we had very profound discussions and doubts but we went though!

V: 你们的Logo设计非常简洁，但这种设计形式正是我个人最喜欢的。是谁为你们设计的这个Logo？你们的专辑封面设计也极具辨识度。这些艺术作品是谁设计的？

Your logo design is very simple, but this design form is my personal favorite. Who designed this logo for you? Your album art design is also very distinctive. Who designed these artworks for you?

A: Logo由我们前任贝斯手（兼数字艺术家）Francis Muzzi设计，在此再次向他表示感谢！一位名叫 Januz Miralles的年轻菲律宾艺术家：请关注他的作品，他才华横溢。

The logo was designed by our old bassist (and digital artist) Francis Muzzi, who we like to thank once again! A young filippino artist called Januz Miralles: check his stuff because he’s very talented.

V: 你的音乐主题是什么？为何选择这个音乐主题？想通过它表达什么？你们还创作了歌词部分。这些歌词由谁创作？灵感来源是什么？

What is the theme of your music about? Why did you choose this music theme, and what do you want to express through this music theme? You also created the lyrics section. Who created these lyrics for you and what inspired them?

A: 我们揭示这个世界的不平等、迁徙过程以及人对人的剥削。我们深切感受到必须为周遭发生的一切作证的紧迫性。这张EP的所有歌词均由主唱Ruth创作。

We point out the inequality of this world, the migration process, the exploitation of human on other human. We feel the urgency of testify about all that is happening around us. For this EP the singer Ruth wrote all the lyrics

V: 这两张专辑是你们自行发行的，还是通过正规唱片公司发行的？你是如何与这些厂牌建立联系并展开合作的？对他们的合作成果满意吗？

Did you release these two albums yourself or did you find a legitimate label to release them? How did you establish contact and collaborate with these brands? Are you satisfied with their work?

A: 这两张专辑均为独立发行。

These two album were self released.

V: 首先恭喜你们今年发布了最新作品。你们的创作极具特色，充满强劲有力的转折，复杂多变的即兴段落，以及在快慢节奏间自如切换的速度变化，这种编排给我留下了深刻印象。鼓手的表现非常稳定，主唱清澈透亮的嗓音更是作品最大的亮点。你们如何评价自己的作品？新专辑与旧专辑有何变化？

First of all, congratulations on the release of your latest work this year. Your work is very unique, with strong and powerful twists, complex and varied riffs, and your speed switching back and forth between fast and slow. This arrangement has left a deep impression on me. The drummer's performance is very stable, and the singer's clear and clean voice is also the biggest highlight of the work. What is your opinion on your work? Is there any change between the new album and the old album?

A: 这张EP"CYRENE"与前作截然不同：可以说前一张像是过往的记忆，而这张则是当下生活的真实写照。这张作品更硬核、更沉重，或许也更阴暗，但具体感受还是留给听众去评判。

This EP CYRENE is very different from the previous one: we may say the one before was like a memory from the past while this one is a direct picture of our present. This one is harder, heavier and probably darker, but we leave that to the listeners to decide.

V: 你参加过哪些音乐节？哪些音乐节给你留下了深刻印象？能否描述当时的现场氛围？2025年还有哪些音乐节会邀请你们参演？

Which music festivals have you attended and which ones have left a deep impression on you? Can you introduce the live atmosphere at that time? What other music festivals will invite your band to participate in 2025?

A: 我们至今参加的音乐节不多，多数演出都是单场活动，最多只有4/5支乐队。现场氛围通常很轻松，观众群体也相当多元化……今年十一月我们将在佛罗伦萨的Ornitorinco Festival登台，那场演出规模会很大！

We haven’t played in many festivals so far, most of our gig are single events with maximum 4/5 bands. Usually the atmosphere is very relaxed and the crowd usually not really homogenic…in november we will play at Ornitorinco Festival in Florence, which is gonna be big!

V: 除了在2025年发行新专辑外，你们还有哪些新计划？能否和大家分享一些信息？

What new work do you have to do besides releasing new albums in 2025? Can you share some information with everyone?

A: 我们准备在十一月至一月期间录制并发布一些新作品，其中部分歌曲已完成创作，但我们一直保留着它们，等待合适的时机。

We have some new material that we wanna record and release in between november and january, some songs we already finished but we kept them for the right moments.

V: 你们是支非常出色的乐队，我将永远支持并追随你们。也希望通过这次访谈，能让更多人关注和支持你们的乐队。访谈结束之际你们有什么想对中国的乐迷和朋友们说的吗？

You are a very excellent band, and I will always support and follow your band. I also hope that through this interview, more people will pay attention to and support your band. Do you have anything to say to Chinese fans and friends at the end of the interview?

A: 中国对我们而言是极具魅力的国度：既拥有深厚的历史底蕴，又蕴藏着令人瞩目的未来前景。此刻能与中国的乐迷们建立联系，令我们倍感自豪！

China for us is an absolutely fascinating country: a place with a rich past and a very interisting future. The fact that we are able in this present time to reach some fans in China makes us very proud!
