今天采访到的是来自意大利的Post / Melodic Hardcore Metalcore乐队Ravine，2015年通过一次朋友聚会，乐队的两位吉他手和歌手互相认识了并且诞生了组建一支的想法，不久之后Ravine成立，在经过长时间的招募成员和创作，排练之后乐队在2022年发行了第一张EP专辑"ERA: Brighter Days"，这张专辑发行不久之后便收到了意大利歌迷和乐评人的关注和好评，同时也成为了一支意大利重要的乐队并且被很多音乐节邀请参加演出，同时也为很多重要乐队邀请作为开场嘉宾参加演出，2023年乐队发行了第二张EP专辑"Second Chance Def"，这张专辑依旧保持着最佳状态，也被乐评人评为2023年最优秀的作品之一，前不久乐队与杂志取得联系进行了一次专访！

Today's interview is with Ravine, an Italian Post / Melodic Hardcore Metalcore band. The idea of forming a band was born in 2015 when the two guitarists and the singer met each other at a friend's party, Ravine was formed soon after and after a long period of recruiting, writing and rehearsing the band released their first EP ‘ERA: Brighter Days’ in 2022. In 2022 the band released their first EP ‘ERA: Brighter Days’, which soon after received a lot of attention from Italian fans and critics, and became an important band in Italy, being invited to play at many festivals and as an opener for important bands, and in 2023 the band released their second EP ‘ERA: Brighter Days’. In 2023 the band released their second EP ‘Second Chance’, an album that is still in top form and has been voted by critics as one of the best releases of 2023, and the band got in touch with the magazine for an interview!

Hello, brother. Nice to meet you, and thank you very much for your participation in this interview. I think this is the first time for your band to be interviewed by China magazine. First of all, let's say hello to all China fans and friends. Ravine was founded in 2015, and it is a band with a long history. Who originally proposed to form this band?

R: 大家好！我们是Ravine来自意大利，很高兴有这个机会和大家交流！这支乐队诞生于两位吉他手和主唱的想法，他们于2015年通过一位共同的朋友相识

Hello everyone! We are the ravine, we come from Italy and we are very happy to have this opportunity to talk to you! This band was born from the idea of the two guitarists and the singer, who met in 2015 through a mutual friend

V: 你们乐队的所有成员都是第一代成员吗？你们更换过成员吗？新成员如何加入乐队？你对新成员的工作满意吗？

Are all the members of your band members of the first generation? Have you changed members? How do new members join the band? Are you satisfied with the work of the new members?

R: 乐队成员都是第一代成员，除了乐队成员之外，我们大部分都是朋友，他们对音乐有着共同的热情

The members are all of the first generation, as well as bandmates we are mostly friends, who share the same passion for music

V: 能否介绍一下你们的创作过程？

Can you introduce your creative process?

R: 这个问题我们可以讨论几个小时！我们尝试了各种方法，始终努力发挥创造力：我们的吉他手Matt在家里写歌，自己录音，然后把音轨发给我们，这样我们每个人都能在歌曲的结构中加入一些东西。但这并不是唯一的方法：我们的主唱Squeeze会写一段文字，然后发给我们，我们会试着找到合适的音乐来表达这段文字所唤起的情感。总之每首歌的创作过程都不尽相同，但最后的结局都是一样的，那就是在排练室里，在五位音乐家达成一致意见之后。

We could talk about this question for hours! We tried various ways to always try to be creative: our guitarist Matt writes the songs at home, records himself and sends us the track so each of us adds something to the structure of the song. But it's not the only method: our singer Squeeze writes a text, sends it to us and we try to find the right music to show the emotions that that text arouses in us. In short, for each song the process is different, but it ends in the same way, that is, in the rehearsal room, after agreeing all five

V: 你们乐队的专辑录制得好吗？你们是在哪个录音棚录制专辑的？谁为你们制作了你们专辑？

Is your band's album excellent in recording? In which studio did you record the album? Who produced the album for you?

R: 我们可以说在进入录音室之前，我们会确保歌曲的所有部分都很好听，所以我们的速度很快！我们的两张EP都是在Doublerice audio录制的，它是Despite Exlile乐队主唱Jei Doublerice的工作室。

We can say that before entering the studio we make sure all parts of the song sound good, so we're pretty fast! We recorded both EPs at Doublerice audio, the studio of Jei Doublerice, the singer of Despite Exlile.

V: 你们乐队的Logo设计非常简单，但这种设计形式是我个人最喜欢的，因为我很容易就能记住你们乐队的名字。谁为你们设计了这个Logo？你们的专辑封面设计也很精美，尤其是最新专辑的封面，我非常喜欢。谁为你们设计了这些作品？

The logo design of your band is very simple, but this design form is my personal favorite, because I can easily remember the name of your band. Who designed this logo for you? Your album artwork is also beautifully designed, especially the artwork of your latest album. I like it very much. Who designed these artworks for you?

R: 首先感谢您的赞誉，我们很高兴您喜欢我们的插图！我们的平面设计师也是我们的吉他手Matt！

First of all thank you for your kind words, we are very happy that you like our illustrations! Our graphic designer is also our guitarist, Matt!

V: 你们乐队的专辑在哪个品牌发行？你们如何与这些品牌联系合作？你们对这些品牌的工作满意吗？

In which brand are your band's albums released? How do you get in touch with these brands for cooperation? Are you satisfied with the work of these brands?

R: 我们完全独立，目前对我们来说很好！

We are completely independent, and for now it's fine with us!

V: 你们的音乐主题是什么？为什么选择这样一个音乐主题？你们想通过这样的音乐主题表达什么？你们的歌词是谁写的，灵感来自于什么？

What is the theme of your music? Why do you choose such a music theme? What do you want to express through such a music theme? Who wrote your lyrics and what was his inspiration?

R: 这张新EP的每首歌曲都涉及一种"Second Chance Def"。之所以称之为 “Typology of second chance”，是因为我们想从不同的角度来探讨第二次机会：我们有必须给下一个人的第二次机会，我们有没有给我们的第二次机会，我们寻找但似乎永远不会到来的第二次可能性。最后成为别人的第二次机会。此外这是我们的第二张EP，因此我们希望它成为我们的第二次机会，让听众不仅聆听我们的音乐，也聆听我们传达的信息。歌词大部分是由我们的主唱写的，在某些情况下，我们每个人都会添加一些内容，使歌词更有条理，90%的歌词都是我们主唱的想法。

Each song of this new EP deals with a type of Second Chance. "Typology of second chance", because we wanted to address the various perspectives that can exist of second chance: We have the second chance that we have to give to the next, we have the second chance that is not granted to us, the second possibility we look for but never seems to come. And finally "being" someone's second chance. In addition, this is our second EP and so we wanted it to be our second chance to let the audience listen not only to our music, but also to our message. The lyrics are mostly written by our singer, in some cases each of us adds something to give more structure, but for 90% they are the result of our singer's thoughts.

V: 你们的作品给我留下了深刻的印象。旋律优美而坚韧，鼓手是如此疯狂，Riff连绵不断，歌手的歌声是如此疯狂。你觉得自己的作品如何？

I was deeply impressed by your works. The beautiful and tough melody, the drummer is so crazy, the Riff is continuous, and the singer's singing is so crazy. What do you think of your works?

R: 非常感谢，我们很高兴知道我们的作品受到了赞赏！显然我们也很满意，当然还有很多工作要做，但无论如何，我们所取得的成果让我们明白，我们想传达的信息已经到达，人们能够产生共鸣。

Thank you very much, we are very pleased to know that our work is appreciated! Obviously we are also satisfied, surely there is still a lot of work to do, in any case the results we have achieved make us understand that the message we want to send arrives and people manage to empathize

V: 你的乐队参加过那些音乐节，其中一些音乐节给你留下了深刻的印象。能谈谈当时的气氛吗？2025年你们还会受邀参加哪些音乐节？

Your band participated in those music festivals, and some of them left a deep impression on you. Can you tell us something about the atmosphere at that time? What other music festivals will you be invited to attend in 2025?

R: 我们每次登台都像是第一次：我们的每一场音乐会，我们认识的每一个人，都给了我们不放弃的动力！显然，有些音乐会比其他音乐会更成功，但我们坚信，既然有一个人从沙发上站起来来听你们演出，我们就必须在任何情况下都全力以赴！

Every time we go on a stage it's as if it were the first time: every concert we do, every person we know gives us the push not to give up! Obviously there are concerts that go better than others, but we are convinced that since even one person got up from the couch to come and listen to you, it is necessary to give 100% in every situation!

V: 你们是一支经典的Hardcore乐队，我会一直支持和关注你们的乐队。我也希望通过这次采访，能有更多的中国歌迷关注和支持你们的乐队。最后你有什么话要对中国歌迷说吗？

You are a classic hardcore band. I will always support and pay attention to your band. I also hope that through this interview, more China fans will pay attention to and support your band. Do you have anything to say to China fans at the end?

R: 谢谢你们给我们时间和空间，我们对你们无限感激！同时也感谢所有看到这篇采访的中国歌迷，他们可能会认同我们想传达的信息：永不放弃！无论如何第二次机会总会到来，重要的是始终相信它！
